I'm a LP to dd 11 & ds 2...

Life is really quite rubbish for me right now too... I'm always bored & lonely. Try not to think longer than the day ahead because it's too bloody depressing!!Hmm

misstiredbuthappy · 02/07/2014 21:56

front you should of seen tge size of my conifers they were embarrassing. But everytime I asked someone to do them the price was ridiculous. But I found someone on facebook he cut them and mowed lawns took all the cuttings away and only charged me 50 I was gobsmacked.

I know what you mean rainbow I always find the weekends are the worst drag so much especially if youve got no plans.

Lioninthesun · 02/07/2014 22:43

Actually weekends seem to be picking up for me here. A lot of my friends' partners want a day 'off' themselves to do DIY/watch football/lie in so actually they get just as bored and want to be out with someone too. It is still worth asking if they are free anyway - you may be pleasantly surprised!
I spent this morning watering my new lawn and cutting back all of the hedges with a hedge cutter. Very satisfying Grin I'm planning a little gardening patch for DD just now too so any tips gratefully received here!

Hi there. Nasturtiums grow quickly and madly, my dd needs everything to grow immediately! Don't have a garden at the moment, but near the beach, which is cool. Not sure what was deleted. A really nice chap looking for a decent single woman on mn maybe?

Lioninthesun · 02/07/2014 22:56

Lovely - I shall look those up pronto. We did have some strawberries but they ripened really fast and were gone in a couple of days. Wrong species perhaps. Is it too late for sunflowers now?
I always want to see the deleted posts too! Did anyone see it?

frames · 02/07/2014 23:03

ITS late for a lot ofthings I think. Some of that garden centres near us, do children's clubs to get children gardening. Also try wandering around allotments, got lots of fruit last year out on a walk from friendly allotment owners, all very happy to share tips!

misstiredbuthappy · 02/07/2014 23:05

I wish my weekends were picking up lately mine consists of cinema or swimming in the with dd and then the park ! When dd goes to bed its Saturday night that are boring there never anythink on tv.

Realy looking forward to going down the coast though Grin

Im so jealous frames I would love to live by the beach !

A realy nice single chap Confused whats one of them ? Are you drunk Wine

OP posts:
frames · 02/07/2014 23:11

Ha ha, I am not drunk. I have gone up a dress size in that last year, so trying to avoid drinking alcohol! Yup the beach is just great, I am so lucky. Sometimes weeknds can be really repetative, and long. Is your dd school age? Could she have a friend round to play?

misstiredbuthappy · 02/07/2014 23:18

shes 5, shes got a good little social life to be honest better than mine most weeks she has a party to go to and shes got loads of cousins that are always here. The little girl from next door is always in our garden and inviting her self for tea so dd is never bored.

OP posts:
frames · 02/07/2014 23:24

I know that feeling, my dd has an amazing social life! We have moved about a bit, she makes friends quicker than me! I need to be off to bed. Keep posting :-)

misstiredbuthappy · 02/07/2014 23:37

realy nice single chap whats one of them ? Are you drunk. Grin

I have sunflowers, tomatoes and potatoes currently but DD ignoring all...

Lioninthesun · 03/07/2014 09:23

Great gardening advice everyone, thanks.
DD has opted for a day at home today. We've been away for a week so fair enough. Means I have to confront the pile of clean laundry to fold and put away though Pottering sounds good though. I need to measure the space in the garden for her b.day present (wooden play house) as the gardeners made a base for us which will determine it's size. I am anxious to order it now even though we have weeks left as I am worried it won't arrive in time otherwise. You can't really hide something like that though! It's never like this in the movies!

Lioninthesun · 03/07/2014 09:28

BTW my 'gardeners' aren't permanent sadly. The ground had to be levelled and turfed and they managed to do an amazing jungle/wonderful transformation while we were away for the week. Felt like I was on one of those makeover programmes coming home to it! Grin

misstiredbuthappy · 03/07/2014 13:44

We are staying at home when we finish work/school too lion its hammering down here.thats nice sounds like you dd is gonna have fun, play houses are good for storing their garden toys too :)

I've started operation house move. Only just sat down and feel a bit beaten. I'm so much better when busy but I'm also exhausted so maintaining that busy is not always possible. The other thing is fitting life around DD.

justiceofthePeas · 03/07/2014 21:01

Being a parent is a bloody hard job. Being a lone parent even harder. Sometimes I feel swamped by it. But days like today being a wee family is brilliant. We go where we want without waiting on anyone else.

Is there anyone you could phone/skype date with. Obviously going out is tricky with babysitters etc. But if you had other friends also stuck in perhaps you could share a few glasses of wine over skype.

I get x mil over to babysit and go out now and again or crash over at a fruends with the dcs. He lives by the beach Smile

And this too shall pass

misstiredbuthappy · 03/07/2014 21:06

I know what you mean indians I pretend im realy happy but sometimes inside I just feel realy shitty like I want to burst out crying but theres no point. Ive messaged 4 of my friends today seeing if they want to do something . Theyve all said their busy or they cant go out the nights I can. One of my friends cant come out as shes got a new boyfriend her reply was "you need a man" how about fuck of ! How patronising.

Have a cuppa front and put your feet up. Have a good nights sleep and start again tomorrow. Are you moving anywhere nice ?

OP posts:
FrontForward · 04/07/2014 06:19

No idea re moving! I just want a smaller house and garden. To make mine more saleable I was planning to sort out some outstanding DIY issues and tidy the garden. Nothing is desperate but it would smarten the house up and make it more appealing. I looked last night on Rightmove and am not sure now I will bother! Really limited options in my area and what I'd gain by downsizing I don't think would be worth moving for

I will keep looking but timing a sale with when a suitable property comes on the market is the issue

misstiredbuthappy · 04/07/2014 09:11

We should swap dds garden toys are taking over my back garden Grin
