No advice sorry but good luck and I hope you have fun.

eyebrowsfurrowed · 30/01/2014 21:44

go. relax. he doesn't have to be 'the one.' don't feel the need to please him. it's all in your hands. enjoy yourself!!!

GreenRedBlueYellowPurple · 30/01/2014 21:44

Ok first of all... It's possibly not a real date. If you've only been talking online and haven't met yet, you may not even like him. He may be nothing like you imagined. I have met 15 people from the Internet to date and my heart has sunk a little bit each time. Turns out I have an optimistic imagination. I hope he's great but... it may not be the hot date you're expecting. :-)

Monetbyhimself · 30/01/2014 22:13

Enjoy! What have you got planned ?

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 31/01/2014 13:06

He might be nervous too! Good luck, treat it as a nice night out, not necessarily the start of something major, you're putting your toe in the water again.

rainbowfeet · 31/01/2014 13:54

Thank you, just off to a local pub.

I really hate the first few months of a relationship the awkwardness & get to know each other.. That's why I've been single so long.. I wish you could jump straight to the both committed & secure enough to say you are a couple no game playing!! Not exactly an old romantic am I?!! Lol Hmm Wink

Enjoy. I hope he's attractive. Tell us what happens!!! :-D

GreenRedBlueYellowPurple · 01/02/2014 10:10

Ps game playing is not romantic. If he's one of those, kick him to the curb, sista! ;-)

Monetbyhimself · 01/02/2014 10:13

What are we wearing ???

rainbowfeet · 01/02/2014 10:18

Was going to go with skinny jeans a cream silky top & black blazer, chunky necklace or a scarf & black studded ankle boots with a heel??!!

OP posts:
Monetbyhimself · 01/02/2014 10:24

Perfect!

GreenRedBlueYellowPurple · 01/02/2014 10:59

Go with the scarf rather than the chunky necklace! :-)

GreenRedBlueYellowPurple · 01/02/2014 11:03

It sounds gorgeous! (I just hate chunky necklaces and think scarves are waaaay more sassy & chic)

rainbowfeet · 01/02/2014 11:47

Ok with scarf... Tied in a knot so it hangs quite long (making me look taller & slimmer) or wrapped around neck?????

OP posts:
Monetbyhimself · 01/02/2014 11:53

Wrapped around the neck. Classy!

GreenRedBlueYellowPurple · 01/02/2014 15:08

Yes draped around neck and if it's nice and flattering, over shoulders. My friend wears hers (green & red) over jacket like this and it's lovely.

Can't wait to hear all! I could have an Internet date (we all could!) but am just not in the right place for it a.t.m so I'm happy to live vicariously through your excitement :-)

Smile, do and say only whatever you are comfortable with. If you don't feel like staying, make your excuse (have one ready like oh I just got a text from my babysitter) and leave promptly.

They are not all who they say they are :-)

Have fun!

Monetbyhimself · 02/02/2014 08:35

Hope it went well ! We need details Grin

GreenRedBlueYellowPurple · 02/02/2014 12:40

Tell us!

rainbowfeet · 02/02/2014 13:38

He was 'nice', easy to talk to & seemed genuine but there was no spark on my side!Hmm

& bloody typically is quite keen on arranging a 2nd date!! Story of my life the ones I really like never like me back !! Confused

Haha rainbow feet I met about 15 guys from the internet and this was the exact case in about 13 of them lol! :-) Was it an ok night?

GreenRedBlueYellowPurple · 02/02/2014 15:19

Well in about 10 of the cases. 3 were total weirdos and 2 or 3 I thought were ok. Just ok though! Sigh. Am giving it another go now myself...

rainbowfeet · 02/02/2014 16:21

It was pleasant enough but on past experience I know without that spark it will not work!!

I'm not being unrealistic, I'm knocking 40 I don't expect a Brad Pitt lookalike & there to be fireworks but you have to have a little spark, don't you?

To at least have that butterflies feeling & hope they kiss you or feel the same... That wasn't present at all Hmm

piratecat · 02/02/2014 16:23

well done thought for getting out there and going.

you'll have to let him down i guess.

GreenRedBlueYellowPurple · 02/02/2014 17:32

I actually have to disagree vehemently. I hate the 'spark.' Some guys make it their mission to kindle a 'spark' but it's meaningless. Give him a couple more dates. It sometimes works!

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 02/02/2014 18:29

If getting a babysitter isn't a hassle I'd consider one more chance, he could have been nervous, doesn't sound like you were repelled and didn't flinch when he kissed you. Nothing obligates you to see him again though, especially if there are other possibles around.
