I'm so out of the loop with good restaurants in London these days so hoping you can help!

As a joint 40th present, I'd like to treat my brother and sister in law to dinner somewhere (just the two of them, not with me), to a nice meal somewhere special but thats fun or a bit quirky as opposed to just being posh

Looking to spend around £300 inc booze (and they like a drink!)

Central or south west London would be ideal

Or I could do dinner and a night in a hotel and pay a bit more

-Sketch is brilliant, as is Bocca di Lupo
-Pizaro on Bermondsey Street is brill
-The River Cafe still does the job although it looks hilariously 90s these days
-Petrus is utterly fabulous although it might be tight for £300. Maybe check the menu/prices
-Restaurant Ours? Not everyone's cup of tea but it's very hip right now Hmm (although I should warn you Fay Maschler loathed it)
-Don't bother with Marcus (Wareing); he's lost it
-Cinnamon Club and Gymkhana both excellent high-end Indian restaurants

Oh and Fenchurch at the top of the Walkie Talkie / Sky Garden. Way, way better food and experience than Duck and Waffle, which I thought was a massive swizz.

Another vote for Oblix at the Shard. We had a cocktail in the bar, a bottle of wine with dinner (which was mid price there) and a three course dinner. Think it came in at about £240 incl service. Fabulous view (we were there at sunset and had a window table) and lovely service

Ah that's it! Another vote for gymkhana

Thanks to this I've just booked Chez Bruce for our anniversary. We ate at the Glasshouse for a previous anniversary and it's the best meal we've ever had, so if Chez Bruce is even better I have high hopes!

Probably everyone's a bit over it, but I have always had good food and service at Maze.

La Trompette is lovely.

I know it's east but the town hall hotel and typing room restaurant were excellent.

Fun and quirky with people who like almost every type of food ---- deffo recommend DANS LE NOIR fits your requirements

We absolutely loved it for my birthday SmileSmileSmile

At the end you are shown what you have eaten, some of which we guessed but some we had no idea (but nothing disgusting like offal or things you wouldn't normally eat like bugs etc)

Just lots of different flavours and textures SmileSmileSmile

Also have the mystery cocktail SmileSmileSmile

Ooh, I went to Dans Le Noir recently: it was good fun and decent food too. More of an experience though than fine dining, but good for a birthday or similar
