Went today and its fab fab fab! Best for under 6ish I'd say but still really good. Lots of space. Excellent cafe prices and good entry price. SPoke to the owner and she seems lovely.

Hi Giraffes, hope your well :-) Is it open weekends and suitable for under 1s too - always good to find somwhere else to hang out

weegiemum · 26/01/2010 21:52

Bah at being for under 6's. We're fed up driving to Linwood for ds go down the Suicide Slide at Big Adventure!

YourCallIsImportant · 26/01/2010 22:02

Where in Partick is it?

giraffesCantCeilidhDance · 26/01/2010 22:04

RHG your not on my FB are you? Piccies from today on there. Had best mates 5mo there and she had a ball! Theres a small ball pool and some baby toys. The bigger kids bit. Dressing up clothes. Dolls house and toy kitchen. Chairs with kids dvds/videos. And big space with soft play shapes. Also a table with paper and pens you can take back to your table and a selection of magazines/newspapers.

And the owner was lovely says she caps it at 35 on weekends even though its allowed for 45 so its not too busy. Some art work was still being done on the walls today. It looks fab and has a personal touch with the owner being so involved. She was out with her wee mini hoover keeping the place clean!

After what happened to my arm at socks and slides I usually hate soft play but it was really really good.

Weegie your dc could go to sox and slides too. But beware of cargo net walls!!!

They might like it I wasn't in the big bit but friend took nephew while I stayed in baby bit and she reckoned was good for up to 6s but depends on the child. What about monkey maddness in clydebank its got the big blue slide has your ds tried that? I have to say I dont like it much in there as its hard to see the kids.

I went to Sox and Slides once, not long after it opened and didn't like it at all. DD was about 4 at the time and the place was full of much bigger kids, so I steer clear of it now.

The best one I've been to is in Cumbernauld, I think it's called Adventure Planet. It's spotlessly clean, huge and has a fabulous cafe - highly recommended.

YourCallIsImportant · 26/01/2010 22:10

Thanks Giraffes, I'll give it a try.

giraffesCantCeilidhDance · 26/01/2010 22:11

Well I tore a ligament in my wrist in May in S&S and had to have an operation on it, still sore and still have physio. Am depsertaely trying to avoid needing a 2nd op. So S&S isn't my favourite place! Think theres a pic on my profile of my lovely xray actually!

Sounds really nice Giraffes.. not on your FB - will go look to see if I can find you.

giraffesCantCeilidhDance · 26/01/2010 22:17

Found you from your email and added!

RedHairedGirlie · 26/01/2010 22:19

Thanks...Isn't technology amazing!!!!

giraffesCantCeilidhDance · 26/01/2010 22:23

Indeed! There are more pics but friend has them. And after soft play we ended up in the royal all day with her (thread in chat) so shes off to bed and will pop them up tomorrow. But you can see quite spacious and plenty for ikkle ones to do - the baby bits seperate from older bit which is good. Always think thats a design fault of monkey maddness - the babies get trampled as no clear divide apart from a sign...which the children can't read!

I don't have either of you on fb but can't remember enough of your names to search!

giraffesCantCeilidhDance · 26/01/2010 22:28

I know your name but FB search is being a bum and coming up with NO results. I even tested it by putting in a very common name and no results

Have an email for you will send you a link to mine on that, if its still the same email.

OP posts:
weegiemum · 26/01/2010 22:32

I haven't changed my email for years and I am the only person on FB (in fact, in the whole world with my name!

Which basically means I can run but I can't hide

giraffesCantCeilidhDance · 26/01/2010 22:36

Yes I thought you have an unusual 2nd name but no results came up so I tried with just your first name...and I dont believe for a second theres no one with that name on FB! So I think my search is broken...searching for RHG must have done it!

BTW did you notice above reads like I said - I hurt my arm bla bla

and RHG says - oh that sounds nice

!!

yes, i've been there too for birthday parties, i think the manager is actually a bit ocd about cleaning which can only be a good thing. i didn't know it was only up to age six, i've deffo seen older kids there, but the majority are younger. i generally hate soft play but find jungle in the city very tolerable.

giraffesCantCeilidhDance · 26/01/2010 23:01

Up to age 6 was just my friends guess at what age she would take - am sure older are allowed. But its not got anything like the big blue slide for the dare devils.

RedHairedGirlie · 27/01/2010 09:43

Oh no... ... I didn't mean mean nice about your arm Girrafes.. think there was a posting frenzy and my post seemed to get dumped at the bottom!!! meant sounded nice about the soft play honestly [..

RedHairedGirlie · 27/01/2010 09:48

PS Weegie, once you are on Girrafes FB, you can find me too

RedHairedGirlie · 27/01/2010 09:50

PPS.. my spelling of giraffes seems to have gone a bit wrong there......

weegiemum · 27/01/2010 09:57

We're starting to outgrow softplay I think! Except the scarey ones!! Last time we went to one dd1 (almost 10) sat on the floor in the corner and read her "Lemony Snicket" book!

kirmcc · 27/01/2010 21:31

taken ds to jungle a few times and he loves it- too scared to go down the tunnel slide though. i think my dd (6) would be too big for it though, not enough to keep her busy

the one thing i don't like about is its entry fee- most other soft plays have unlimited stays term time during the week but this one is £3 ish for an hour and i avoid eating there as i feel like i'm paying to eat

AitchTwoOhOneOh · 27/01/2010 21:37

I have been through the tunnel slide, it's a doddle. dd2 made me do it.
