Went today and its fab fab fab! Best for under 6ish I'd say but still really good. Lots of space. Excellent cafe prices and good entry price. SPoke to the owner and she seems lovely.

Have you tried the black tunnel slide at sox and slides - its scary! All you can see is sparks as you fly down.

Hello to you all, Jungle in the City has lowered it's entry prices to £2 per hour + £4 all day play Mon-Fri they are also doing a fantastic meal deal at just £4.95 which inlcudes at least 2hours play, depending if it's busy or not, the meal includes sandwiches, bottle of water, apple, yogurt and a packet of kids crisps it really is brilliant value, they also have a coffee machine now and quite an extensive menu for adults, there are sofas, football, seperate play pit for little ones, dress-up and toys, they are also doing free arts and crafts from 10-12 Mon-Fri. the staff a friendly and they keep an eye on the kids to make sure mis-behaving is dealt with quickly, quietly and in such a way that you dont have to worry about approaching another parent phew that can be so embrrassing, it is ideal for toddlers and you can see your kids no matter where they are, the door is manned so that the little ones cant get out, all in this place is brilliant also their parties are great value and they make such a fuss over the birthday child and have little touches to make them so special

giraffesCantFitInThePalace · 26/05/2012 22:58

this thread is 2yrs old, not very subtle advertising Wink

giraffesCantFitInThePalace · 26/05/2012 23:18

get rid of the hand prints, god quotes and get new sofas.

hand prints cute at first 2yrs on...not so cute

how much do you charge for tea - ie a tea bag and hot water?

kaat · 26/05/2012 23:43

Thanks, subtilty never been a strong point, hand prints still cute for new kids even 2 years on they still attract positive comments, tea £1.50 i.e. tea bag, to be purchased from shop and stored, petrol + time, cup to be purchased from store, washed dried - hot water required again oh and then someone's wages to carry out this task, hot water from coffee machine, purchased from retailer, installed by plumber, maintained by espresso coffee, boiler and plumbing maintained by Paralell Heating, electrics to machine maintained and checked by Power-on then machine cleaned by staff daily, cleaning fluids, wages, time, care and attention, dirty cups thento be collected from tables washed, hot water + staff, dried, clean towels + staff and stored on clean shelves, staff and cleaning again, I personally thing £1.50 isn't too bad a price when you put it like that......

kaat · 27/05/2012 00:36

Meant to say the 'God' quotes, sorry if they seem offensive in anyway, is actully the inauguration speach made by Nelson Mandella, which was written by Marianne Williamson, it starts at the front of the shop and works it way round to finish at the front of the shop, I found it quite inspiring, again if people find it offensive then we shall paint over it, some of the Sofa's have been replaced and teas and coffees are half price on refills, also our fantastic artist is currently re-painting the toddler area and is working her way round in order to keep it fresh. Thanks again for your comments, very helpful.

giraffesCantFitInThePalace · 27/05/2012 00:52

Not so much offensive but very random, other people think they are religious too. have you seen the other thread on this that someone started?

Everyone comments its looking a bit run down. People are not going to come up to you and tell you that the walls look crap :) Honestly this is what people who don't come/have stopped going in favour of SK are saying.

Am not trying to be a bitch, honest. But this is the 2nd message in the past week or so promoting jitc - and this is what has been said by lots of people. The sofas are manky - I am sure you clean them but they LOOK manky and feel gruby. Problem is the place has a feel of garscube playrooms, but higher prices.

Have you thought about a loyalty card? x visits and get the x one free?

Positives - staff are nice and friendly and not rude, dont just sell junk food, can see all kids on frame, easy to find and good for public transport, like the fish, not seen craft stuff, but good idea. Maybe colouring out too - just crayons and seasonal colouring sheets - maybe on tables in party corner when quiet - during week. The kids love the toys and dressing up stuff - know space is an issue for more of that but something to think about! Play kitchen/house? Wifi good idea especially no phone signal. I love you can pay for one hour only - big plus for me!

other thread

it was me who started this thread 2yrs ago - so see I do/did like it, but in light of competition I have stopped coming so much. The jj facebook/text deals/offers are really tempting too, so tend to go there.

giraffesCantFitInThePalace · 27/05/2012 00:58

artist is great - i said that on other thread.

get it all tidied up, looking smarter and then have a party/event or something.

I like the feel of the place but it needs some tlc :)

kaat · 27/05/2012 19:17

Hi giraffe, Thank you for the feedback both positive and negative I do need to hear it, I know people won't just randomly come up and let me know of their disappointments in the playarea, I do agree it has been a bit neglected and I don't take any of your comments as bitching they are all good as far as I'm concerned, yes my staff are fantastic thank you and we do try to provide less junk food mixed with some treats again thanks. I did read the other thread, once I found it, not very savvy on the comp and trying very quickly to learn very fast the do's and don'ts. I will remove the 'God' quotations and we have dumped several of the sofas, the party area is now the football area weekdays and the arts & crafts is at the far end beside the kitchen, we are currently re-surfacing the play-frame, mats, beams and columns a section at a time and in the evening as not to disrupt the kids enjoyment and have been disposing of some of the large shapes that the kids mess about on at the front, Andrea our artist is busy working her way around the play centre walls adding more Jungle Animals, it's looking great she is such a joy to have, I am so glad you like the feel of the place, we do too and as we agree the staff are all amazing at what they do, loyalty cards are available now with 4 visits 5th visit free.

Please don't hesitate to voice your great suggestions, we love to hear them, I set out 6 years ago to provide a place for adults to relax and kids to have fun at a cost that is affordable, I also wanted to provide any staff a decent wage (not minimum) and give them a sense of self worth, yes there have been issues with some of the pricing structure but I do believe that the overall costs are very reasonable, again if you disagree I will take on board any suggestions you may have.

Again thanks

giraffesCantFitInThePalace · 27/05/2012 22:54

Sounds good. Will try to pop in some time this week or next and have a go of crafty stuff :)

ihaveabreastfeedingquestion · 14/06/2012 12:43

Kaat, we love Jungle in the City - for me it's the nicest soft play in Glasgow, lovely and comfortable, great value, brilliant for babies with all the toys for 0-12month little ones, and one of the few soft plays that doesn't smell of cheap fried food. Keep up the good work.

Serennova · 29/06/2012 10:05

Just a quick message, there were some leaflets with a 2 for 1 offer for Jungle in the City (either 2 hours play for 1 hours price, or two children play for price of 1 child) on the notice board in Milngavie Town Centres Costa Coffee on Wednesday; not sure if there are any left but worth a check if you're around that area.
