Can you go away overnight NP? Or are you wanting just out for dinner?

mawbroon · 14/01/2009 19:11

Yes, we need a bit more detail.

Well, it won't surprise you naily to find out that I am bah humbug about Valentine's day...

Dinner? Staying over? what sort of budget?

meep · 14/01/2009 19:28

we have a favourite place in Stockbridge here

It is very un-valentinesey ie/ normally doesn't have a set overpriced romantica menu type thing!

The cocktails are fab and the food is good - nothing startling - just yummy.

We haven't been for over a year (moving to otherside of city and having children!) but are planning a trip back before number 2 arrives

aGalChangedHerName · 14/01/2009 19:53

If you don't mind a bit of a journey the Lodge on Loch Lomond was fab. There isn't really much to do... well apart from the obvious lol

The food was absolutely beautiful!!! There is a pool and spa facilities etc.

Why are you bah humbug about Valentines MB?

mawbroon · 14/01/2009 19:57

Ach, you know me agalch. Bah humbug about everything.

aGalChangedHerName · 14/01/2009 19:59

Cook your DH a nice meal MB and whip off your skirt to reveal the sexy undies!!!

Would he like that or die of a heart attack lol

mawbroon · 14/01/2009 20:03

Hmm, first prob is that I don't own a skirt or sexy undies....

Anyway, this is naily's thread

aGalChangedHerName · 14/01/2009 20:06

There's a scheme thing at the moment look here which has some quite posh restaurants for £15 a head. Don't know if they'll be doing it on Valentine's day but it doesn't say they're not.

Oh that sounds lovely.

Hopefully you were brave enough to chat to some others and find out if there were any other Swedish groups!

Mmmmm the menu looks great NP.Hope you have a nice night x

We wee going to go back to the hotel for Valentines(ds1 gave us a night away for our xmas present) but i am having my Mirena done on Monday and i have heard that you can have a lot of bleeding for the first couple of months so will see how things are nearer the time before we book up.

I quite like DH surprising me for valentines (well i expect it tbh) and i love spending time alone with him. With 4 dc and mindees here all the time we both need it!!

agal that is great you are going away again. isnt it your birthday too?

when i had my coil i had a really painful period that lasted about 5 dyas, like normal, but it was really really heavy and more painful than usual. the dr gave me ponstan, its a pain killer specifically for period pains, you should ask the dr about it

mum has said she will babysit and she usually prefers to take the dds to hers to babysit - its great cos dh and i get the morning to ourselves too! (to sit and chat and read the papers of course, what else? )

christiana, the dogs does look ggod - ive enver heard of it before! may keep that in mind for future birthdays etc,t hanks ffor the tip

mawbroon · 15/01/2009 11:03

LOL, just looked at the menu for the dogs. Lemon and orange posset anyone?

It does look very reasonable though, hmm, maybe a good place for another meet up.

naily I think most of my bah humbugness has come from being skint with about 50p disposable income a week for what seems like forever....

aGalChangedHerName · 15/01/2009 11:07

My birthday is April (same as yours i think?)

We are in Cyprus for my birthday this year tho so will be good.

Can't wait to get my coil and hopefully see an improvement in my awful periods.

Ds1 will babysit for Valentines anyway and we will go out somewhere.

nailpolish · 15/01/2009 11:07

cooking a romantic dinner for your dh and setting the table with candles wearing nothing but a pair of suspenders costs less than 50p...

OP posts:
aGalChangedHerName · 15/01/2009 11:08

What about a nice meal at home MB? Or a bath with candles etc? Doesn't have to involve money. That's what DH and i have done sometimes.

nailpolish · 15/01/2009 11:10

oh yeah! why did i think your birthday was valentines?? am getting confused with wedding anniversary and romantic times of the year or sommat

cyprus? oh you lucky thing!!! that is brilliant!
