My birthday and wedding anniversary are the same day. Means DH won't forget our Anniversary lol

Pil's rent theirs out but flights are prob cheaper to Turkey in school hols.

Aww bet he does melt. My DH is such a big softy with babies esp now we have the dd's.

Oh how was Center Parcs NP ? What type of food do you like ? Could try 5pm.co.uk they have lots of offers although perhap not for Valentines, or if you can go for an early meal then The Tower or The Witchery do very reasonable pre theatre meals.

Am trying to avoid Dh taking me for meal out. i will eat and drink too much and then Dh will want to get romantic when all I will want to do is lie on the bed and burp, unromantically. Much rather get a couple of nice steaks from M&S and a bottle of bubbly, oh might even get DH to clean out the inflatable hot tub.

Am v excited is DHs 40th tomorrow. I have booked for us to go to Sheraton One Spa and have a couples massage and enjoy all the lovely facilities.Roof top jacuzzi here I come.

Have never eaten in Teuchters but used to drink there and menu looked v tempting.

Sheraton One Spa was amazingly good. DH is feeling extremely pampered, we were there from 10.00am until 4.00pm and I had to be dragged from the post massage relaxing area. Ahh bliss, won't be able to justify going again until it is my 40th which won't be happening for at least a few decades yet.
Did you do the Acqua Sana when you were there ?

No CP for us this year . Dh has decided that it is much better value for us to stay at South Lakeland caravan parks instead, which indeed it is, and DS is too young for most of the CP activities and I'm sure we will have a fab time, but sigghh I love the lodges and the way you can cycle everywhere and the cute red squirrels.

Are there really Red Squirrels there Rookie?

I was always told that they were only up north.

Loads of red squirrels there, Mawbroon. There is a big conservation area around Whinfell.

We're going for dd's birthday in March and frankly I am counting the days.....

I didn't know about the squirrels. Were they reintroduced or just is it just an area where they didn't get forced out by the grey ones?

That will be lovely for your dd's birthday liath. I quite fancy Centre Parcs, but any time I have looked up the prices, it always seems to be too dear. Must dig out the tent this year.... I actually think ds would love camping.

the red squirrels are very protected. they are utterly gorgeous and you see lots of them. i took dd1 on a 'rangers ramble' - the ranger gave her a booklet with lots of 'pawprints' to look for - she found badgers, squirrels, birds, deer. she was very proud of herself. we even saw some deer. they were beautiful. you could hear gunshots getting closer though so we had to turn back. the ranger was telling us that the american company who own center parcs is thinking of building tree lodges RIGHT where the red squirrels are most abundent so when you do go liath and fill in your questionnaire thing befor eyou leave mention that you think this idea is utterly horrific
