Hi NIMUM

Haven't posted in this section before, but decided to have a look at the local sites - not the busiest!!

However, just on the offchance that this thread is read - you mentioned in one of the threads that your little one has dyspraxia, you may already know but there used to be an organisation called Contact a Family - not sure of their number but they might be able to put you in touch with another family with similar issues. I have 2DS's and 1DD. DS2 has asd.

You hit the nail on the head there, it's not a busy site is it which is why I haven't looked for so long and only just responding to your post.

I have used the contact a family and made a few contacts but because she is not at a specialist school I am getting more support now and also the early years were the hardest when we didn't know.

Sorry to hear about your asd, I'm sure you have had your fair share of difficult times with it. Did you find C.A.F. any good?

We need to try and get NI mums a bit more internet savvie, there's just no action on this site!!

Just realised you replied!!

tbh I have only really just begun to buy into anything 'special needs' and, therefore, haven't used any of the services available - yet. My first step was becoming a mumsnetter. Normally on special needs but I also visit a few of the other sites and lurk!

I am also thinking about joining one of the local organisations that is specific to asd - I am probably going to do this over the next week or so. It's just making that initial telephone call (yuck!).

It's a real pity that there aren't more mums interested in mn because it can be isolating having a child with sn and it's also a great way of tapping in to what resources are around locally.

Hi, room for one more NImum? My New Years Res to get a life again so trying to get out more. Have joined a Pilates class to exercise and get out and would love to get to know other mums locally too. thought the best place to start was mumsnet and check out the local area pages.

Hello - you might just make your 5 by Easter at this rate! I have one DS who has just turned 18 months. Myself and DH both work full time through necessity and life just seems such a rush! I'd so love to be at home more...!!!!

Know what you mean. I recently reduced my hours at work by just one day a month to clean the house and have a bit of time for whatever I want. With 2 DDs at 2 1/2 and 16mths life is busy!

Hiya, another NI mum here

I have 2 children. A dd of 7 & a dd of 4. We live in Co.Antrim.

There are quite a few NI mums here, we met up a couple of summers ago at Stormont for the Mile For Maude, it was a lovely day!!

Hello, new to mumsnet NI Mum, thought I'd join in and say hi. Have 2 boys, one 4yr old who's just learning the "art" of telling jokes and one at 15 months who has learnt to throw himself out of his cot.

Hey all

Also new here to NI Mum. I have 2 boys ages 7yrs and 7 months old and 2 girls ages 5yrs and 2yrs so my life is pretty hectic and hardly get a chance to sit down,lol Just got all the kids down to bed and having some me time before the youngest wails threw the monitor for my attention, he doesn't sleep for long, feel like he is never going to sleep through the night Anyways I shall not ramble on for long just wanted to say hi!

How you feeling? Pregnancy can be a tiring but joyful experience I remember my first I was doing great up until 7 months then I was just knackered all the time and thought I would be pregnant forever,lol Do you know what you are having or have you decided to wait and get a surprise?

Aww luv I so sympathise with you its not nice feeling so tired. Enjoy the time you have left before the bambino comes along! Rest and sleep as much as possible as it all ends once the little munckin arrives sad but true,lol believe me I walk about like a zombie living on 3-4 hours of sleep a night as my youngest is 7 months and still not sleeping all night. But lack of sleep is the only downside, once you have the little one in your arms your whole world changes for the better, there is no feeling in the world as wonderful as being a mum you are going to love it Surprise is good when my first son was born the midwife told me you have a gorgeous wee boy and I said "Who does?" lmao I was so high on gas and air I didn't know if I was coming or going.

I am trying to rest, but I do work 4 days a week. Thank god my boss agreed to Fridays off until I start leave, which is the middle of May.

I am so looking forward to being tired with babe in arms rather than in belly!

It is so much a better feeling when you got the babes in your arms,you may be tired but the heartburn and indigestion goes away as does the sore back and sore feet and swollen ankles,lol and you have a gorgeous wee baby smiling up at you I know with work it must be hard it is good that your boss agreed to a friday off gives you a long weekend to rest up! what do you work at?

I used to work in Sales but am taking a break for a year or so got my hands full at the moment I have four kids 7 months,2yrs,5yrs and 6yrs,lol being a full time mum to 4 kids is like the hardest job in the world, always on the go
