Hello Bradcobs,

At the top of the page their is a heading of useful stuff look under acronym list.

And welcome to mumsnet.

Are you in Leicester by any chance?

Or was this the first thread you spotted?

Bradcobs · 04/11/2008 10:30

Hello wherethewildthingswere, thanks for the info. I am in Leicester so thought I'd write on this one. Trying to get tips on what to do/where to go once bambino arrives (if s/he ever decides to turn up!)

Tigerschick · 04/11/2008 17:30

Baby cinema sounds brill - I wish I knew about that when DD was small enough. I don't think she'd cope very well now that she's 2.7!!

Hi Bradcobs Where are you planning to have you DC?

Tigerschick · 04/11/2008 17:31

your dc, rather!

Bradcobs · 05/11/2008 09:59

Hi Tigerschick, I am going to the LRI, being induced on Sunday if bambino decides to stay cosy for a few more days.

Just a waiting game now!

Tigerschick · 05/11/2008 10:18

Hi Bradcobs,
I was originally going to be at the LRI but when I went for my 12 week scan we couldn't get parked. We decided that we'd rather not risk it as I was convinced I was going to go into labour at 3pm on a day when both Tigers and city were at home and I'd have to walk miles to get to the hosp (As it turned out we went to the hosp just after midnight on a Monday morning so would have got parked easy as pie!)
... I know I was being over-dramatic but there you go. Also, I found out where the General is and it's much closer to us anyway!

Hope all goes well for Sunday.

pokeydot · 05/11/2008 13:15

girlandboy · 05/11/2008 13:21

But what if your kids are a lot older? Mine are 13 and 8 and are at school! But I wouldn't mind meeting up somewhere for a coffee.

I'm Cropston

cyteen · 05/11/2008 13:26

belgrave here

Tigerschick · 05/11/2008 13:37

I'm not in the city so don't mind where we go as have to drive regardless.
I can do pretty much any day except Fridays and would prefer to avoid weekends if poss ... Oh, and I'd have DD in tow

cyteen · 05/11/2008 16:45

Well, as mother to a small baby all days are pretty much as one, so I'm easy really I don't drive so somewhere bus-able or walkable would suit me. On the upside I am happy to walk for long distances muttering sleep baby sleep into the pram.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 05/11/2008 17:01

I'm city centre-ish, (Narborough Road) but I some times have car access, so I'm easy as long as there is plenty of notice.

cyteen · 05/11/2008 17:15

on the Narb i used to live round there, quite miss it actually.

LoveBeingAMummy · 05/11/2008 22:14

Am off to gokidsgo tomorrow ith some rl friends will report back!!!

LoveBeingAMummy · 06/11/2008 10:33

Both of them cancelled so no trip out for us today

However it does mean I can get on with the cleaning,,,,opps too alte I'm on here!!!

Bradcobs · 07/11/2008 11:50

Hopefully parking shouldn't be a problem, I have my sister and a few friends I can call on if necessary, especially as I have a 5.30appointment on Sunday.

Still no signs of bambino bradcobs, must be doing something right if s/he is still in there, obviously too nice!

FYI - had a mum to be massage treatment at the City Spa yesterday, courtesy of my lovely boyfriend (who I'm sure was more concerned that I can cry at the drop of a hat). It was absolutely lovely and would recommend it to anyone (especially if someone else is paying!)

cyteen · 07/11/2008 11:53

of your treatment, i only discovered the city spa a few weeks ago. think i feel a birthday treat coming on...

good luck with your appt bradcobs! i ended up having DS at the LRI and found the staff v good - my mw was amazing.

Bradcobs · 07/11/2008 11:58

it was great! They are introducing post baby treatments too, so will try and see what else there is!

Glad to hear LRI was a positive experience, hopefully all will go well on Sunday!

stretchmarkqueen · 13/11/2008 11:16

Heeeeyy!! I'm Leicester, Glenfield area!!! Never knew this was here!!!

stretchmarkqueen · 13/11/2008 11:18

OMG WTWTW!!!! I'm from Narbourough rd area!! Off the Kingsway!!! Do I know you?????

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 13/11/2008 11:25

Stretchmark, thank would be weird, funny to think when we have been on threads together you are just up the road,, I am nearer to the center, is the Kingsway kind of Braunstone Town? I'm sure thats where my friend used to live.

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 13/11/2008 11:27

Bradcobs Where's that baby of yours? Waiting for news here, hope it all went swimmingly.

stretchmarkqueen · 13/11/2008 11:36

Yep, Kingsway is Braunstone Town. My mum still lives there now. It's close to Fosse Park, so Nrb rd south then. God, how close are you all!!!! Are there any meet ups planned??

WhereTheWildThingsWere · 13/11/2008 11:56

There is much talk of a xmas do, I think I am up for it, but it would be very odd to go and recognise someone from RL, I do enjoy the anonimity of mning.

cyteen · 13/11/2008 12:01

Ooh stretchmarkqueen, how exciting that one of my favourite posters is a Leicester MNer too

We definitely need to arrange that meet-up, ladies. Since December is just around the corner (where did the year go?) I reckon we need to get cracking. What's on at the New Walk Museum at the moment, maybe that would be a good place for a daytime meet up with small ones?
