I know we normally do Thursdays but tomorrow is kind of short notice. Anyone up for next Thurs - the 5th of June? Or sooner if you have any other ideas? BTW you are all welcome at mine this Saturday night at 8 - email me for more details if you are interested

Sounds good to me,especially as DD1 will be next door at Nursery.I would be prepared to go in the rain to the park, but everything will be very wet....Slides swings, Benches, etc.??

SparklyPrincess · 03/06/2008 16:30

Am happy with Adventureland as contingency plan, although I'll need to pop to the bank to sort out funding ;-) And of course, DD2 can't walk honestly ...

We're also pretty waterproof so happy to go to the park unless its dreadful. I'll stick my picnic rug in the buggy to ward off the wet grass!

Btw, Podglet, did you know you can get through from next to adventureland to where go bananas is without going all the way round to the Albert roundabout? Just for info!

purpleflower · 03/06/2008 17:42

Hope you all have fun. We can't make it this week. Might see some of you on Sat.

pooter · 03/06/2008 17:48

hi everyone - ds and i wont be able to come on thursday - one of my friends in ipswich has just started a group for 'attachment parents' - no scoffing please!! so im going to go just so she has at least 1 punter!!

have fun in the rain while i eat biccies and drink tea . hopefully see some of you at the fire engines on sat!

Twinkie1 · 03/06/2008 18:28

What time are you girls meeting - if at Adventureland I may come but not up for walking as have put my back out!

Mung · 03/06/2008 19:01

Not having much luck Twinkie, are you? Or is this another ploy to be off work

PF...how is DS's foot?

SparklyPrincess · 03/06/2008 19:05

Twinkie - we said 2pm, cos Eeny's LO naps lunchtime-ish - are you still coming, Eeny?

Hope that's ok with you Twinkie ... might be a bit tight with the end of school I suppose. I'm happy to meet you down there a bit earlier, anyway.

Nursejo · 03/06/2008 19:21

I'll be down there earlier as DD1 now finishing at 12.30pm as doesn't want to stay at Nursery for dinner anymore! Starts young this avoiding "School-dinners" business!
Anyway,so as I'm next door I'll be in there early. Can I give anyone a lift? Or pick anyone up from Bus-stops near town?

Nursejo · 03/06/2008 19:25

I can squash a small adult in the back, between the girls, and a carseat in the front seat. Can borrow one from DH's car if I know before Thursday morning.I have a spare 9mths+ one or a 3 yr old+ one.

Sawyer64 · 03/06/2008 20:43

By the way, have namechanged from Nursejo to this.

Twinkie1 · 04/06/2008 11:00

OK Sparkly I will meet you down there a bit earlier - what time is best for you - just makes it pointless going for such a short time as I have to leave at 3!

Are we talking Adventureland inthe nice warm and dry or the park where it will be impossible to sit on my arse and drown my sorrows in balck coffee!

Have space in my car for 2 others.

Tx

SparklyPrincess · 04/06/2008 11:13

Will head into town as soon as kids are fed so say 12.30? Would be at adventureland by 12.45, Castle Park by 1.

I reckon adventureland is the way forward as it's going to be pretty sodden up at the park even if it's not actually raining. IIRC that playground gets horrendously puddly.

Is that ok with everyone? Think we should make the call today in case someone doesn't pick up news of a change of plan tomorrow morning!

Mung · 04/06/2008 11:29

I will get there as soon as DCs are fed. Probably between 13.00 and 13.30.

Twinkie1 · 04/06/2008 11:41

Am up for Adventureland - but you can make the call sparkly and start a rebellion!

Did you have a bon vacation Mung? (I know I have probably spelt it wrong! - need lessons!!!!)

Tx

podglet · 04/06/2008 12:59

Ok, Let's say Adventureland then I will come straight there from picking DS up at 1 so will be there from about 1.30 - 1.45pm. It will be Ds's first time there so will be interesting!

See you tomorrow.

Saz126 · 04/06/2008 13:38

Adventureland good for us, and not so far to walk . Should be there at about 1.30pm, all being well on DS's sleep, although might just come anyway. Looking forward to meeting you Podglet/Sawyer.
Eeny, can you make it? I can meet you at a bus stop if you don't know where Adventureland is - if you arrive around the same time that the train gets in. Not sure where your buses end up though, whether in town centre or by train station.

Mung · 04/06/2008 14:10

I know a good teacher Twinkie

Tres bonnes vacances merci

Mung · 04/06/2008 14:11

The bus would take Eeny to the town centre. Its then a walk down the hill to Adventureland.

Sawyer64 · 04/06/2008 14:45

How long are the sessions in Adventureland? I have only been there once and I can't remember.I know Go Bananas is for two hours. So if thats the case here, then getting to Adventureland at 12.45pm- 1.00pm,should be ok for us early ones.

Doh! I guess you are a French Teacher then Mung?,or a "languages teacher"? I have another friend in my baby Group, who teaches French, and she lived in Colchester.Small world....

Twinkie1 · 04/06/2008 16:56

I can give anyone a lift although have got to go into Colchester first to find a bag and some jewellery and buy DH a birthday cake.

Vraiment heureux vous avez aimé vous Mung, maintenant me donner le numéro de ce professeur!

SparklyPrincess · 04/06/2008 17:20

Ah, isn't babelfish a wonderful thing... ;-)

Twinkie1 · 04/06/2008 17:44

what is babelfish?

Used Google translator!

SparklyPrincess · 04/06/2008 20:13

Same thing ...

See you tomorrow

Saz126 · 04/06/2008 20:30

Salut! A lift would have been fab Twinkie but we'll get the train so that we can leave that bit later and DS can have longer sleep. Also he will be happy getting the train bless him. Sawyer, I don't think there's a time limit at Adventureland - I'm sure they said you can stay until it closes last time we went in the afternoon.

Sawyer64 · 04/06/2008 21:01

Oh right Saz,thats good.

Don't know what you intellectuals are on about....babelfish??

Just guessing that that impressive bit of French, may have been assisted by Google? Looked good to me anyway Twinkie!

Dunno what you were on about though, with my schoolgirl french(very ancient!)something about the number of a teacher???? probably way out though!!

See you all tomorrow, looking forward to meet the rest of you too.....We haven't heard from Eeny yet have we?
