Thanks AutumnLady! Due 7 Feb, it will be my 2nd, I have DS1 8 mths, and it happened so quickly, think thats why it doesnt seem quite real at the mo!

Just skimmed the post, this is your First? How is it all going?

AutumnLady · 10/06/2008 10:46

Hiya
Yes it's my first and it's all going really well. I was one of the lucky ones and managed to escape the whole ms thing which I am truly thankful for!! I live in Rotherhithe so not far away at all - I would love to arrange a meet up for our area so let's try for something in the summer - what do you think?

xx

Aila · 11/06/2008 11:51

Meeting up sounds good! I am on mat leave at the mo so am pretty flexible (not looking forward to telling my company that I am now preg with baby no 2!!)

SO far no ms, but with DS1 it hit at 4 months, so fingers crossed!

There is a fair bit to do with babes in the rotherhide/borough area. There are a few things that my DS really enjoys and we go to quite regularly. I can post some links if you would like?

Aila · 11/06/2008 11:56

You may already know abt the surestart activities, but this is the link.

AutumnLady · 11/06/2008 12:00

Hi Aila

Brilliant, thanks for that link I shall take a look at bit later on but any other suggestions you have then please pass them on. Do you work in the London Bridge area? Would love to see your boss's face when you tell of your news

Well, Friday's are good for me but I have plans for this one already but the next one is free?

xx

Aila · 16/06/2008 14:36

Hi, sorry for delay, been hectic couple of days and not had a chance to go onto mumsnet! This friday sounds good, I have a early scan booked for the afternoon, but am free in the morning, if that is any good for you?

I work in Canary wharf...yes, am dreading it!

BSOmum · 17/06/2008 17:29

Hi there

I've got two girls and work locally for the British School of Osteopathy. Thought some/all of you might be interested in a free treatment in our expectant mother's clinic?

There's a course on Sunday 13th July that they need pregnant patients for - so you get a free treatment to cope with those fun changes that pregnancy makes to your body (!) and they get to practice on you. If you're interested, call 020 7089 5308 and book a session.

Good luck with your babies!

Aila · 17/06/2008 22:10

Thanks, anything free sounds good!!

AutumnLady · 18/06/2008 10:53

Hi Aila

Sorry for the delay, just getting through loads of work, nothing more excting!

Would love to meet but can't do this Friday - email me on stockc at parliament dot uk
and we'll sort something out!

Very excited about the free treatment at the BSO, I've had treatment there in the past and it was excellent. I'm up for that if you are?

xx

PinguRocks · 18/06/2008 16:31

Hi ladies

I'm also in SE16 and up for meeting other mums-to-be in the area. I am 13 weeks and have just gone public - eek!

AutumnLady · 18/06/2008 16:32

Hi PinguRocks - congratulations on your news! Is this your first one? I would love to organise a meet up so is anyone interested and please give me an idea of when/where suits you best.

x

Aila · 18/06/2008 17:08

Congrats PinguRocks, I am only 6.5 weeks, I haven't gone public in RL left, just on mumsnet!

AutumnLady, not sure about the treatment, that is the only weekend in July and August that we dont have something on (crazy wedding season!) SO we were thinking about going away somewhere for a week. I know that once I get bigger I wont feel like going anywhere, and once DC2 arrives, I definately wont feel like it for a good few months!

Waiting on DH to see if he can get hols for that week.....if we dont go on holiday then would love to have the treatment!!

No probs re Friday, I will email you. But re meet up, am going to Scotland to see family next week, so anytime after the 29th is fine.

Re where, I dont mind at all, altho Hays Galleria in London Bridge has some nice coffee shops and is next to the tube.

hodgepodge · 21/06/2008 16:43

hello again autumnlady - and hello new people - am back from holiday (bump in swimwear - interesting...) - would love to come along to any meet up you're anywhere near organising - i'm just off bermondsey street so hays galleria good for me - i've lost track of which dates you might have got to - but I can do this Friday anytime at the mo...?

also the osteopathy thing sounds fab - but i'm away that weekend - i might try emailing them though to see if they'd like to practice on us all another time?

also also - don't know if any of you do yoga or pilates at all but i'm trying to find some sort of pregnancy exercise i can do round here? (am very lazy and not so keen on actually getting out of breath so tend to avoid gyms...)

OP posts:
PinguRocks · 23/06/2008 11:59

Yep, first one for us. I can do a hays galleria meet up (since I work near London Bridge) but it would need to be lunch time for me to make it on a school day.

On the exercise front, I'm planning on starting pregnancy yoga at St Thomas'. I thought it might also be a way of meeting other local mums-to-be!

BSOmum · 23/06/2008 15:09

Good luck to you all. I'm helping organise the course at the BSO that they need the volunteers for, so let me know if you want an appointment booked. If not, they do have an expectant mothers clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays - you pay for those appointments, but they're still much cheaper than 'normal' osteopathy because you're being treated by students. It's all supervised though and (though I'm clearly biased) excellent! Check the website if you're interested. www.bso.ac.uk/mm3expm.htm

Jesster · 23/06/2008 19:43

Hi ladies, just came across this thread and thought I'd say Hi. I'm also SE1 based and 8 weeks pregnant - due Feb 3rd.

All a complete (but good!)shock and have just gotten my head around the idea of being preggers.

None of my friends are pregnant or have kids, so finding it all a tad overwhelming and would love to meet up with other local mom's to be if a date's been arranged!

J xx

hodgepodge · 23/06/2008 22:00

Hi jesster - it's all a bit scary isn't it! - totally know how you feel - be lovely to have you along - though i don't think a definite date's been set - i can do this friday if others can too

and hi BSO mum - i'm definitely interested in treatment but can't do that Sunday - are there any other freebie training days in the pipeline do you know?

oh and pingu i went to a yoga class at st thomas's but everyone else was 39 weeks and about to pop so i felt a bit early! am trying to find something aimed at a bit earlier stages - will let you know how i get on if you're up for it

oh and i felt the baby kick/poke/squirm for the first time yesterday - completely freaked me out...!

xx

OP posts:
PinguRocks · 24/06/2008 11:28

I've emailed BSO to see about an appointment for the course day....

I'll report back on the yoga class once I've been but am definitely up for trying something else if you come across anything suitable, hodgepodge.

I know that Seven Islands does an aquasplash class that is apparently suitable for pregnant ladies (and old people!) but I haven't tried it myself.

hodgepodge · 25/06/2008 13:01

11.30 Starbucks at Hays Galleria on Friday if anyone can make it? Autumnlady and I will be there x

OP posts:
PinguRocks · 26/06/2008 14:04

I can't make it tomorrow but hope to see you soon....

Aila · 27/06/2008 22:19

Hi All, just back from Scotland, was so nice to relax and be pampered by my mum! sorry to miss the meet up. Hope you guys had a nice time....

Hi Jesster - I'm due Feb 7th!

AutumnLady · 02/07/2008 10:05

Hi Aila

Welcome back and glad you had a good time away. Mum's are great at that sort of thing aren't they??!!!

We have to organise another meet up to see if anyone else wants to join in. How you getting on, still keeping well?
xx

Aila · 11/07/2008 15:53

Hi AutumnLady, sorry for delay, had the bad cold. I seem to have no immunity these days, once I get a cold thats me out of it for abt a week! Plus my MS started...grrr...

Yeah mums are brill at that! I'm well thanks, had a bit of a scare with the bump, but its all ok now. I had another scan and got to see the little one....how are you keeping?

Purple79 · 24/07/2008 13:40

Hi all,

I came across this thread looking for pregnancy yoga classes? but im glad i did.... hello to everyone and congratulations!

Im 18weeks pregnant and due Dec 17th. Im soo happy & overwhelmed at the same time, funny as we were planning it.

Think i'll definately be calling seven islands about their aquasplash class - thanks for the info.

Hope everyone is well. x

hodgepodge · 26/07/2008 18:25

Hello Purple - congratulations!

I actually went to seven islands this morning to check out the aquasplash classes - they're Monday evenings 8-9 and Tuesday mornings 11.30 I think - 7 pounds a time unless you join then all the classes are free...that's about 45 a month (i think - didn't actually write any of it down!)

I'm going to try to go most Mondays though the next couple I don't finish work til 7 so might be a bit tight for time.

Have also arranged a pregnancy yoga session for a week on Tuesday with the very nice girl whose classes I used to go to before getting up the duff - she's going to go through what you can/can't do then I can go to her normal classes she says...you're very welcome to come along - it's at Globe Yoga on Crucifix Lane...
