Hi all

How about Friday 28th September - we could meet up in Valley Gardens in the kids park? How about 1.30pm-ish?

You cant miss me - I have twin boys and one has flame red hair! Plus I will be pushing a buggy with baby too. And I'm 5 foot 11. And will be wearing a comedy moustache. OK forget the last bit.

Anyway if we meet up then we can discuss if we are going to go out for a Xmas meal??

Let me all know what you think.

Harrogatemum · 14/09/2007 14:31

oooh I feel a bit guilty as I've just realised I'm the only one who will have kids there - all yours seem to be school age! So you might not want to meet in a park and be bored, you might want to do something civilised!!

Any other suggestions gratefully received!

Gateau · 14/09/2007 19:59

Valley Gardens is a great choice. I will have my baby boy with me and while he obviously wil not be whizzing down the slide, he will love looking at all the activity around him. Anyway, we could always follow it up with a coffee at the caff.

zmandaz · 14/09/2007 21:58

Hi, I've been on Netmums a while but have only just found my way onto this page! I'm Manda and I live in Harrogate. I'm a single Mum to DD who has just turned 1 last week. Would love to meet up with mums in the area or just have a chat on here.

empen · 14/09/2007 23:19

Friday 28th seems good to me. Any chance we could make it for about 4pm so the school kids could come along. (My dd would be terribly jealous if she knew I went to VGardens without her). If not then I can do 1.30pm - I will just have to keep it a secret from her!!

I am looking forward to meeting some new people cause I am getting fed up of being ignored at the school gate.

Please reassure me that northeners are as friendly as I have been led to believe.

Harrogatemum · 15/09/2007 08:15

empen - we are v. friendly!

I cant do 4pm unfortunately but we could change the time for the time after?

Right I am off on my hols - see you all on 28th hopefully!

chinwag · 15/09/2007 17:21

Hi,
Sorry, I can't do day time. Apologies.

chinwag · 15/09/2007 17:23

Empen, we are friendly, but it's awful when you first move.

Koshka · 15/09/2007 22:36

Hello, I did say hi earlier but then went off and forgot about it and didn't introduce myself properly so here goes...

I live in Wetherby, just moved here last year. Was absolutely overjoyed to get pregnant (with my first) earlier in the year, and now am nearing that 20-week scan point. It's all seeming a bit more real now that I can feel sproglet kicking away inside!

Gonna work as long as I can up till the birth - basically for financial reasons! So won't be able to come to the afternoon meetup but would def. be up for an evening do later in in the year - you can all regale me with your baby advice! lol

Harrogatemum · 25/09/2007 14:40

right so there should be a few of us then - see you all Friday

Gateau · 26/09/2007 22:29

Hi all mums who are going to VG on Friday,
Call me a pessimist, but in the quite possible event that it'll be raining, what about meeting under sheltered bit at the cafe?

Harrogatemum · 27/09/2007 09:01

good plan!

empen · 28/09/2007 06:30

I will be the one waddling along - heavily preg, looking a bit scared. Keep your eye out for me and grab me when I look lost

filthymindedvixen · 28/09/2007 12:25

hope you had a nice meet-up....sorry to have missed you all!

Koshka · 28/09/2007 15:33

sorry i would have come but my mum took the car which had the pushchair in, and ds' only pair of shoes!

Harrogatemum · 28/09/2007 15:40

hi ladies - there were three of us - me, Gateau and Empen, we had a cold but lovely time in the caff at VAlley Gardens before my lovely DTs forced us to go to the park!

We will do it again shortly - I wasnt surprised that there were so few of us due to weather!

filthymindedvixen · 28/09/2007 16:20

let's find a date and do an evening one!

SallyInYorkshire · 28/09/2007 16:31

Evenings would be good for me.. any day of the week except Weds or Thursdays.

Harrogatemum · 28/09/2007 17:00

sound good to me - week night better for me as prefer it to be quieter if we are going into town (sad old woman emoticon)

bettythebuilder · 28/09/2007 17:55

Glad you had a good time..sorry I couldn't make it, feeling grim with the lurgy!

filthymindedvixen · 28/09/2007 18:03

we could tapas - cheap and cheerful and plenty of chance to chat and sling back the old sangria!!???
