empen · 08/09/2007 10:29

Hi, I just moved to Harrogate from Cambridge 2 weeks ago and know no-one. I would love to meet other local mums as all the mums at the school gate already know each other. I have a 5 year old girl and am 7 months pregnant with a boy!

filthymindedvixen · 08/09/2007 10:32

Hello Empem. Welcome!
Which school is dd at? (You don't have to name it, just give a vague location clue...)
It's like trying to herd cats, getting a meet-up going, but maybe we can arrange one for Christmas...?

chinwag · 09/09/2007 20:31

Welcome. Hope you feel at home very soon.

empen · 09/09/2007 22:07

Daughter is at Saltergate.

I have been to Valley Gardens a few times and thought it was brilliant for the kids - is there anywhere else in particular I should know about?
Am going to the show at the Yorkshire Showground on Saturday - for maternity, baby and kids stuff. Have you all heard about it. I picked up a flyer from Asda - sounds really good for the little ones and great for me being preggers - it says I could have a 4D scan while I was there!

chinwag · 09/09/2007 22:27

Mmm, will have a think about that.

Koshka · 09/09/2007 23:55

ooohh hello
i live in harrogate too would love to come to a meet up

Harrogatemum · 10/09/2007 12:17

well lets see if we can work out a day meet up with the kids and also a Xmas meet up in the evening?

I love a good list so lets get some info and work out when we can do this : who works and if you do what days do you work.....when is good for you, what nights of the week, preferences for evening out etc.

I'll start - please copy and paste and add on your info!

Harrogatemum - in Pannal - DTs aged 2.10 (boys), DD aged 9 months. Free on Tuesdays and Fridays mid week with the kids. Prefers evening meet up to be a meal as hates crowded noisy bars (age 35....past it).

chinwag · 10/09/2007 13:06

DD's x 2. (7&9). Tue & Fri ok 4 me. Agree about meal. (Also 35!!!)

Bit scared meeting up with strangers.

empen · 10/09/2007 15:51

i am not working at the mo so any day during the week is usually fine - with daughter (aged 5) and bump. Would be up for a meal out too - not into packed out bars full of on heat teens. Baby should be here first week in November so will be out of action for a little while after (caesarean!!!)

empen · 10/09/2007 15:52

Oh yeah, can someone explain the codes to me... DD? DT? etc

Harrogatemum · 10/09/2007 17:04

dd - dear daughter
ds - dear son
dts - dear twins
dh - dear husband

hope this helps!
