There's some discussion about Winchmore on this thread. I don't have personal experience, but have friends with children there and they are very happy. It's improved dramatically in recent years - new head has made a big difference apparently.

I used to attend winchmore over 20years ago and my son followed... Back in my day it was horrible but it seems to have turned itself around. . like any school it just needs discipline and consequences
