Isle of Wight Meet Up

Hello everyone

I've just been invited to help MNLocal become, well, more local!

Im new to the Island, Ive been here 8 years and I live in Cowes. I have a 10 year old dd. Along with many other islanders I have a few different things keeping me busy.... I am an Ofsted registered childminder, I host and teach english to (mostly) french students, I sell Usborne Childrens Books and I'm the Area Coordinator for Sitters.co.uk

I'd love to meet up with other MNetters on the Island.

Hi,

I am an islander through and through.

Mum to 5 Dc now aged between 22 and 16 and also since yesterday a nanny to a little boy (DD3's) totally outing myself to anyone who remotely knows me now!!

With the latest penguin bollards thread from our lovely Island I now know there are many more MN-ers than just me here.

Would be up for a meet-up if one is arranged. Smile

I'm also new to the island. Live in Cowes and have a 12 year old DD and a nearly 9 year old DD.

Hey! I'm on the IoW, too! I've been avidly following bollard-gate on the main board, as well!

I suspect it won't be long before I come across someone in RL who knows a friend of their sisters cousin who lives in the flats.....I run a tea room over here, so get to listen to all the gossip!

I'm happy to host a get-together - tea and cakes a-plenty!

Hi ALL

Im so glad that so many of us have made it over from the bollards thread!

Im happy to meet up anywhere, so when you log on let us all know where you are then we can find somewhere to go that suits most of us.

I know that there are calls to visit MrsDavidCarouso, but i think she needs to be in control of that.

so two for Cowes and one for Ryde at the moment.

when would you like to meet? during half term or when the children go back to school?

I'm in Ryde too I have two dds 8 and 10. Loved the bollard thread and only just realised it was IOW!

Sorry, I didnt say that I was Newport, but can travel. This week is slightly mad for me, so would probably have to miss it if a meet up is arranged, but dont worry about me..... a good excuse for another one!! Wink

Can anyone explain to me why I have got a different NN that I have never chosen when I post here? You all seem to have your normal ones Confused

how about we organise a meet up on the 1st March? We could meet somewhere central like The Sloop, say 8- 8.30?

I'm mum to my 2.5 yr old DD.
Live in Cowes but work all over the island.

Oh my goodness, I am so sure a really good friend of mine is on here - if just might drop in conversation this week about a trip to the Sloop on Saturday and see her reaction. Also, I am sure I recognised my SIL a couple of years ago - not sure if she is still around. How funny would that be!!! and how embarrassing!! I always say that I don't put anything on here that I would not want friends to know but I am suddenly doubting myself now! I am very recognisable if people know me saw my posts.

Typical that I never do anything, and then I have two invites on the same night!
