Calling all mums to be

jesska79 · 01/03/2012 16:18

We just moved to Oxford. I'm 7 months pregnant, and would like to meet other mums to be to in the area.
I made a group page to join up antenatal class members in oxford, please join up!
Group home page: uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/newmumsoxford
Group email address: [email protected]

Group page set up to facilitate networking of mums to be and new mums in the Oxford area. The idea is to bridge the gap between antenatal classes and the months after birth, where the only people who really know what it's like are other new mums! This could be a forum to exhange tips and advice and to suggest some ideas for meet ups. Sadly the pub may be less fun at the moment, but with summer on the way, there will be loads of nice things to do!

Sounds good. Good luck with it!

Also have you heard of New Parent Network yet? You might enjoy joining that or using their publications. They have an excellent guide to where to go and what to do in Oxford for the under-8s as well as a newsletter you can subscribe to: www.new-parent-network.info/

Thanks Saracen, I hadn't heard of the new parent network.

Sounds a good idea Jess, have you seen this thread? There are a few of us just had babies and preganant ladies too, should be having a meet up soon! :)

Hi purple panda,
Will you ladies post when you have your next meet up?

I've requested to join your yahoo group Smile

Have a dd 2.3 and expecting second late September this year. I moved to Oxford just before DD was born so I know where you're coming from! At the moment I'm working FT (madness) so not easy to meet up but would be up for it in the school holidays and when I'm finally on mat leave!

Whereabouts are you living? We're in E Oxford.

jesska79 · 05/03/2012 17:05

Hi MsInterpret
We are also in E Oxford, Cricket Road.
I am suggesting the idea my NCT group and other exercise groups, so maybe in a few weeks we can do a coffee morning. I am on Mat leave at the moment and most people are starting theirs over easter, so easter holidays would be good.
When are you due? Im April 22nd, a long wait!
Jesska

You're right around the corner from us! I will keep my eyes peeled for all pregnant women in case they're you. A good way to strike up friendships even if they're not! Grin

April 22nd seems very close to me - my first scan is only on March 22nd so I'm not due til very end September. What exercise groups have you been doing? I wasn't pregnant for long in Oxford last time so not really in the loop I was thinking of Aqua Natal at Temple Cowley when the next bunch of sessions start up.

PurplePanda · 06/03/2012 11:09

If you're interested in antenatal yoga, Kay Millar runs sessions in Marston and Summertown. I really enjoyed it, I think it helped at the birth too :)

Jess- is this your first dc?

GeminiBaby1983 · 23/04/2012 16:00

Hi All,
I'm due in May 26th and currently on my maternity leave. I live in Didcot and am looking to meet other new mums/mums-2-B in Oxfordshire too. Let me know if and when you arrange your coffee meet-ups. Thanks xx
