Same here.

Stumbled across the site looking for info about conceiving.

Find this site really helpful

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 03/09/2010 19:06

Are either of you going to come on the Glasgow and Edinburgh christmas night out? I went in 2008 and had a great time - three of us went across on the train from Glasgow together, and got to know eachother on the way. I think more of us are planning to meet up on the train this year, and start the celebrations early.

It would be lovely to see you there.

MummyO3 · 03/09/2010 21:42

hi, welcome.get stuck in hae a laugh

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 03/09/2010 22:54

If you do want to come, I promise you will find people very friendly and welcoming, Mummy03. And like I said, we can travel over on the train and that will let you get to know a few people before meeting the rest of the group.

And I don't bite - well, hardly ever - not since the restraining order, anyhow.....Grin

giraffesCantDanceInBrokenHeels · 03/09/2010 22:59

welcome :)

MummyO3 · 03/09/2010 23:01

lmao stayingdavidtennantsgirl i do bite but only dp Grin

i will seriously think about it and speak to dp, hopefully by that point an exact date will be set, i do think the end of nov would be better as it will be cheaper lol xx

I'm another Glasgow mum (yeah, check the name!) and its nice to see you here. I'm a Southsider with 3 kids in school (huuuuuge kids - p3, 4, 6 now!!) and they're all at the Gaelic school in the West End as we used to live in the Hebrides.

we do have occasional meet ups - often at Glasgow Green, but elsewhere too, and maybe we should arrange another one before the CHristmas Night Out (dh refers to it as the "work night out") though I have never made it to that - last year had pneumonia!

I think I might go and start a new meet up thread in this section for people!

MummyO3 · 04/09/2010 01:21

oh yeah i think that sounds like a fab idea, might make some of us cough cough me lol feel a little better about a bigger meet :) x

SlummyMummyAndProud · 04/09/2010 13:19

Would like to go to the Christmas meetup but DS2 is due to make his appearance on 8th December

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 04/09/2010 14:17

Ohh you should definitely come, then. There would be plenty of us with knowledge of childbirth, and wine for pain relief, and we could all be the baby's godmothers!!! Grin

Or alternatively we could have another meetup earlier that you'd be able to get to (and maybe another one in the new year, so that those of us whose children are now hulking great teenagers can cuddle and coo over a little baby).

SlummyMummyAndProud · 04/09/2010 16:23

Sounds good.

At the moment I'll only be able to do weekends as still working full time (start maternity leave at the end of November).

Do any of you have young DC?

MummyO3 · 04/09/2010 21:44

depends how young you mean lol, mine are scott 5 1/2, rachael 2, caoimhe 1 :) x

My DS is 7.10 and I've another DS due December 8th.

RedHairedGirlie · 06/09/2010 21:29

Hi Slummy and Mummy (gosh that sounds like a song!!!) I can say all the Glasgow mommies I have met are lovely Smile - I don't thinkt there has been a meet for a while so we must be due for one again soon. Will have to see about a babysitter and try and make the xmas night out..

SlummyMummyAndProud · 07/09/2010 00:50

Definetly need to get a meet on the go

prettybird · 07/09/2010 13:02

You must get a babysitter and come along RedHairedGirlie. Pop your name down on the tentative list here There's a surveymonkey being produced to try to work out the best date.

weegiemum · 07/09/2010 13:09

Oh yes RHG you have to come.

Your East-endish, aren't you? I don't know how well off you are for babysitters but I have a couple of people I was at college with a couple of years ago (much younger then me!) who live in Denniston who do babysitting if you need a hand with finding someone.

Pollyrooroo · 07/09/2010 21:31

I have just joined and thought I would say hello. I live on the southside and have a 2 1/2 year old boy.

RedHairedGirlie · 07/09/2010 22:11

Babysitters are a bit thin on the ground Weegie Sad.. and to be honest I do struggle being away from DD other than to go to work and being only 5 mins away.. it is getting a bit consuming though so need to start being a bit more realistic.. so I will put my name down for the night out (and spend the next couple of months worrying about being an hour train journey away if in Edinburgh!!!) Smile

prettybird · 07/09/2010 23:33

Welcome Pollyrooroo. There are quite a few of us from the Southside, with children that cover the full range of ages.

My ds is 10 this week.

MrsJoJoH · 09/09/2010 16:01

Hi everyone, im a new member. Been reading the site for a wee while and thought id start to chirp in with some stuff. I have a DD 11 and a DS 9.

weegiemum · 09/09/2010 16:23

RHG my ex-nanny (and still a very very good friend I see a couple of times a week) lives in Denniston, can travel, and has just had her hours reduced at work so is looking for odd babysitting etc. She's fabulous!! So if you need someone, I'll ask her for you!

(of course, my dd1 would do it for free but she is a bit young Smile)

And hello to pollyrooroo - I'm another Southside mum but my 3 are all at school, and MrsJoJoH - hello to you too. My 2 oldest are similar to yours - whereabouts are you?

We need to have a meeeeeeeeet!!!
