I've looked, but can't find a thread about a meet up in October - am I being very dim? Blush

MummyO3 · 10/09/2010 17:15

Thanks for that, Mummy - I've found it and posted on it. I am somewhat dim today, due to being very tired and having a headache. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it - lol!

RedHairedGirlie · 11/09/2010 08:03

Thanks Weegiemum, would be interested to hear more about your nanny friend.. maybe you can PM me details..

MrsJoJoH · 11/09/2010 11:19

Thanks everyone here for being so nice. I wish others on mumsnet were so kinds, I started a thread about a website I found that looks to be fun and safe for kids called dizeo and immediately I got a load of abuse Shock. So I think im going to go back to being a silent observer. Was just trying to contribute, can do without folk giving me grief. Oh and weegiemum we are from the sunny Neilston.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 11/09/2010 11:22

I didn't see that, MrsJoJo - but please don't let one bad experience put you off Mumsnet - I've found friendship, support, humour and fun here, and I hope that you will too.

{{hugs}}

Hello everyone,

Im new to the site and have a moved to Glasgow from South Wales, I live in the City Centre with my 5 month old little boy and would love to make new mates as Ive left all mine behind in Wales!

xxxx

Welcome, both lauramc01 and emmawales. :)

My ds is now 10 so I can't really advise on what to do with little ones. Never really did much with ds anyway, as I went back to work when he was 4 months old (that was all the maternity leave you got back then!) - although I found out about the Ducklings class at the Gorbals pool on a Sunday morning (as opposed to week days classes like the one at Scotstoun) so took him to that.

Keep an eye out for a Glasgow meet-up - we were thinking about one at the end of October, although it seems to have gone a bit quiet at the moment.

There is also the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up piss-up in Edinburgh provisionally "booked" for 4 December, venue still to be confirmed. There are quite a few of us going acorss from Glasgow - getting the train from Queen Street mid-afternoon to allow for plenty of time for drinking so that we can have a nice chat beforehand Grin You can find details/register your interest here

Don't worry about not knowing anyone - I have met, over the years, lots of "strangers" at Queen Street station on the way over to Mumsnet meet-ups (and also at Mumsnet meet-ups in Glasgow): it helps that I have a bright red long winter coat, so that people can identify me! :)
