PARIS MEET UP. Let's try again: September?

I cannot do around 11 September as I am going to Bucharest for a party. I could do lunch on 25th, possibly, although it is DD's birthday and she wants to go to Disneyland.

Anyone else, before you all disappear for the summer?

Thanks Otherside.

Lunch on a Saturday would be great, might even squeeze a day off during the week.

Early November sounds perfect.

rosietoes · 23/09/2010 18:36

I'm free, too! Love to meet more 'local' Anglophones!

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/09/2010 23:10

Shall we organise it then, Rosietoes? Saturday lunchtime is good for me. Dates?

OP posts:
flyingcloud · 24/09/2010 10:32

Good for me are:
23/10
30/10
06/11
20/11

Can't do 13/11

rosietoes · 24/09/2010 11:44

So far all those are free for me, too, flying cloud!
Just have to make sure DH doesn't plan anything and can watch DD.

Were we meeting up in Chantilly or was that only a ref for the dry cleaner?

Greythorne · 22/10/2010 21:47

Ok, is there anyway we can get the Paris meetup off the ground?

How about planning a Pre-Christmas lunch?

I can do Tuesdays and Thursdays...

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/10/2010 19:10

YES! Date/venue?

OP posts:
scareistheball · 28/10/2010 14:55

I would love to come. I'm fairly flexible about dates, days and times. Marking my place!

BriocheDoree · 28/10/2010 18:47

Thursdays are better for me than Tuesdays (unless you fancy me bringing an adorable autistic 6-year-old along. Actually she'd be in her element as she loves cafés). So long as the venue is fairly central should be OK.

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/11/2010 20:21

Any suggestions for a lunch venue then? Am trying to think of somewhere nice...

OP posts:
rosietoes · 01/11/2010 21:26

How about Petit Palais cafe? It's free entry, has a garden and Philippe Stark designed cool plastic cups!
Food isn't bad as much as I can remember.

BriocheDoree · 02/11/2010 10:22

Sounds OK to me. Also easy to find for anyone who might be coming from further afield!

thereistheball · 02/11/2010 12:31

Do we have a date?

flyingcloud · 04/11/2010 16:03

I will try and make it, any ideas of dates?

Othersideofthechannel · 04/11/2010 19:50

It strikes me that somebody on this thread has to take responsibility for fixing a date even if not everyone can make it. Accommodating everyone doesn't seem possible.

But I'm not volunteering. I'm closer (geographically speaking) to the Belgian mumsnetters! But will come if I can (if a date is ever fixed Grin).

DoubleDegreeStudent · 13/11/2010 11:26

Hello,

Sorry for invading this thread. I am a British student currently doing the second half on a double degree (English and French law) in Paris and would like to offer my services as a babysitter if ever needed.

I am in the 13th (border of 5th) and willing to travel. The short version of my story is that the lock on my apartment door broke and I had to pay 900euros to get it fixed and would love to NOT have to ask my parents for the money...

I am CRB checked and have worked with children at summer camps. Please PM for references/rates/contact details.

Again, I'm really sorry if I wasn't supposed to post this here!

thereistheball · 21/11/2010 14:57

Otherside - good idea. I am happy to volunteer.

It sounds as if we are saying lunch at the Petit Palais cafe, in the run-up to Christmas, ie Saturday 11th or 18th December. I can do either of those. Who is interested in joining me?

Doubledegree - sorry to hear about your door. I might well be interested. Will PM you next time I need someone. Thanks.

rosietoes · 23/11/2010 14:08

Me! I can do 11th, but already heading abroad for holidays by 18th

thereistheball · 24/11/2010 08:50

Right then, 11th it is. Putting it in the diary now. Will be good to meet you!

rosietoes · 24/11/2010 11:23

Super! In my diary as well!
Is it just us?

OK, thereistheball! Let's keep the proverbial ball rolling!
What time ya wanna do this, then? Lunch time?

thereistheball · 24/11/2010 11:48

Yes, let's have lunch. Then we can do a spot of shopping in a post lunch haze. I've sent teafortwo a message and asked her to contact Bonsoir. Will try to contact others on the thread too.

rosietoes · 24/11/2010 12:11

Great! I'll tell Mrs S

Bonsoir · 24/11/2010 14:01

Thanks for the PM thereistheball. Yes, 11 Dec is fine with me too - have put it in my diary.

flyingcloud · 24/11/2010 17:03

Thank you for the message thereistheball.

I will come too! Can I bring DD? Although I would quite fancy a nice lunch followed by an afternoon in Paris....

thereistheball · 24/11/2010 18:21

Wonderful that you can both make it. Flyingcloud, yes, by all means bring your daughter. How old is she? Mine is 3 but I am planning to leave her at home so I can do some pottering afterwards.
