Going to Universal Studios in Orlando. Our first time going away for TG - really looking forward to it!

MmeBucket · 20/11/2010 23:47

In laws are here right now, and we had TG last night, because they won't be with us this year. I think we'll have a downsized TG on the actual day, too, with just us.

Just got back from a day of shopping with MIL, and she bought me the most beautiful coat for Christmas. I probably should have name-changed to something like Iowntoomanycoats.

tadjennypumpkinpie · 21/11/2010 00:34

Is there a thing as too many beautiful coats? Grin I probably own too many fleeces and have had a style bypass since I stopped working! I turned on QVC in honour of you bucket as they were having a Dooney & Burke session. They looked quite nice but wouldn't go with one of my fleeces! Sad

MmeBucket · 21/11/2010 00:39

Aww, I'm touched.

I totally know what you mean about the stopping working and style bypass thing. I hit rock bottom not long after DD was born, because somehow I got it in my head I wasn't going to lose the baby weight, and I lived in Old Navy t-shirts and jeans from the clearance section that not only were odd colors, but were way too big on me.

tadjennypumpkinpie · 21/11/2010 00:43

To be fair, it's snowing here and fleeces are probably the warmest thing to wear! I know what you mean about size as well. I got confused about US sizes again and bought a size 10 pair of maternity jeans which keep falling down. I'm forever hitching the britches! [style got up and gone forever emoticon]

MmeBucket · 21/11/2010 01:19

Sounds like when you're not pregnant that you and I are about the same size then. Next time we make it to Bend, we'll have to swap (non stylish)clothes. Wink Except for my new coat.

I'm freaking out because I'm going Downtown for a concert tonight with my non-married, no-kids, younger friend, and I'm wondering exactly how dorky I will look.

ClimberChick · 21/11/2010 02:41

i'm going out tonight as well. have straightened my hair, gonna put some make-up on and hope that i don't look i'm pretending to look like a teenager, first time post baby i'm tarting myself up

ClimberChick · 21/11/2010 02:42

oh and lo took 3 steps today Grin

MmeBucket · 21/11/2010 03:01

Here's to hopefully looking good going out tonight.

Congratulations on 1st the 3 steps. Enjoy it before it turns into walking everywhere and getting into everything.

tadjennypumpkinpie · 21/11/2010 03:38

Hope you two have a fab time tonight. I will be listening to a podcast while making my one person dinner! I love getting dressed up for a posh night out! (And by posh I mean a meal somewhere, anywhere, though Maccy D's or the like) Grin

tadjennypumpkinpie · 21/11/2010 03:42

Congratulations on the first steps! Bucket is right - at this stage you know where they are most of the time!

tadjennypumpkinpie · 21/11/2010 04:07

And if you are in Bend bucket feel free to drop by and have a coffee. I've never met another MNer!

MmeBucket · 21/11/2010 17:31

Out until 3 and up at 6:30 does not make for a generally cheery Mme. Bucket.

Love to meet you sometime, Tadjennyp. I've met 3 MNers, and really liked every single one.

1/2 an inch of snow here, and school's been canceled.

tadjennypumpkinpie · 23/11/2010 22:42

We have over 6 inches, but fortunately the schools are off all week for Thanksgiving. A high of 21F and a low of -7F though. Pretty darn cold! Lovely and sunny though. Smile

MmeBucket · 25/11/2010 17:36

Happy Thanksgiving!

tadjennypumpkinpie · 25/11/2010 17:53

Happy Thanksgiving. Ds is dancing along to the Macy's Day Parade. Managed to get them to play for 15 mins in the snow. Anyone else got lots of snow?

MmeBucket · 26/11/2010 22:07

No snow, all gone. Not that we had much, anyway.

Black Friday shopping today. I bought myself a bunch of socks, since all mine had holes in them. Usually my shopping is much more exciting, but since MIL and FIL weren't here, I had nobody to watch the kids, and nobody to go with. It's good, though, since all that MIL and I do when we go is shop for clothes for ourselves, and buy the other one what they want for Christmas, and we already did that last week.

jabberwocky · 27/11/2010 02:09

Our schools were out from Wednesday on. The boys are loving the break.
I usually do not do the Black Friday thing but I did make a try for one of those 8 bottle wine fridge things. I was too late.
Thinking of a juice fast tomorrow after all of the over eating.

tadjennypumpkinpie · 27/11/2010 02:13

My dh is away so I couldn't go shopping either. I did look after next door's dcs for 4 hours so they could go, though. They took longer than they expected so I had less than an hour when they looked after mine so went to the gym instead. I don't mind, as I hate sales and am looking too pregnant to get round the aisles comfortably in a crush. Snow still here, but made it to 36F today so has melted a little! Certainly better than the -7 we had the other night!

ClimberChick · 27/11/2010 02:15

I sent DH out for clothes for DD, he came back with the wrong size so he got sent back out again. Bless him, who would have thought shopping was so hard. At least I have his gratitude when I go :)

Maybe I could do with a new pair of jeans Hmm

Does anyone know how you go about seeing a physio over here. If it fully private or can docs refer you. Is it expensive, or is it completely dependent on your type of insurance?

jabberwocky · 27/11/2010 02:35

I believe that you have to have a doc's referral for any physical therapy. There are sometimes PT's who are kind of burnt out and are now doing just massage and training that you can see without a referral.

tadjennypumpkinpie · 27/11/2010 04:13

You'll have to check your insurance coverage to see what they offer. They may pay a percentage of the total cost or all of it. They may say you have to go to a certain physio in network (or a choice) which you need to find out first or you may be saddled with the entire cost. It could take you a little while on the phone sorting it out! Wink

tadjennypumpkinpie · 27/11/2010 17:07

It's only 9am and we have another 3 or 4 inches of snow here. I really hope this doesn't delay dh coming home. There seem to be enough planes slipping off runways lately! Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
