And I bet you get to work with some cool equipment - not that I'm a geek or anything! Grin

jabberwocky · 29/10/2010 01:26

some cool equipment plus I'm also figuring out how to keep the therapy room interesting. We added a Wii this week.

hornedtoadjennyp · 29/10/2010 21:57

Hope everyone has a great halloween! [hgrin]

jabberwocky · 29/10/2010 23:42

I LOVE Halloween. Definitely my favorite holiday [hgrin]

hornedtoadjennyp · 30/10/2010 00:44

It's so much nicer here Jabber by a bazillion. Don't need to worry about the trick part of it and I don't feel like the dcs are begging as it's is very reciprocal! Perhaps it should be a public holiday! [hsmile]

jabberwocky · 30/10/2010 01:00

Yes, I have begun to realize by reading posts that it is not so much fun in the UK :( Too bad, really...I look forward to it more than the boys [hblush]

redflipflops · 30/10/2010 01:20

Hello everyone. Happy Halloween [hsmile]. Yes - it's SO much bigger here than in the UK. My DC are loving it!

For Halloween parties I love to think up elaborate costumes. When I take the boys trick or treating I always dress up as a witch - but every year I am a different witch, not the same old costume.

[hgrin]

hornedtoadjennyp · 30/10/2010 01:41

Don't blame you jabber. If I had the imagination to think of a costume that would fit over my bump (and had a babysitter!) I would fancy a bit of carousing too! {hgrin]

hornedtoadjennyp · 30/10/2010 01:50

Whoops that should have been [hgrin] [hblush]
How are you red?

jabberwocky · 30/10/2010 02:07

Ds2 was born on Thanksgiving one year.

I went to a Halloween party as a sultry, pregnant sorceress complete with long black wig and staff (very swollen feet by then [hblush])

kickassangel · 30/10/2010 03:32

dd has had 2 halloween parties today - another 2 events tomorrow, then the big day itself.

it is much more fun here than in the uk, though our last house was in a small village & it was all v well behaved - even teenage kids said thank you politely as they took sweets.

hornedtoadjennyp · 30/10/2010 03:33

Speaking of Thanksgiving, we were just talking about flightless birds at the table when ds (3) said, 'turkeys can't fly, they're dinner!' Followed by a great big guffaw. [hgrin] Got to love 3 year olds' logic!

jabberwocky · 30/10/2010 03:35

There are several houses in our neighborhood that go way overboard with decorations. We love it!

dooneygirl · 30/10/2010 03:40

I had both DC's parties today, and we went with a friend and her DD to a Halloween carnival tonight. Big fun, but are we tired.

jabberwocky · 30/10/2010 03:44

Too much sugar for ds1 I'm afraid. We've had some issues to deal with today and all of the sugar leading up to yesterday may have played a part [hsad]

I have ordered everyone to bed...

redflipflops · 30/10/2010 03:44

Have had a good week - thanks jenny. Hope all going smoothly with your pg now?

DC enjoying all the Halloween parties & pumpkin related stuff! School is going much better now - DD making some good friends (which am very pleased about). Have also booked a holiday in San Diego for Thanksgiving - looking forward to that now Smile

hornedtoadjennyp · 30/10/2010 03:44

We haven't done anything so far (but then mine are only pre-schoolers). We were thinking of having some friends round tomorrow for pumpkin carving, so I'd better get my skates on. Was also planning to bake some halloween cupcakes - any suggestions?

jabberwocky · 30/10/2010 03:47

jenny, if they are over 1 year they are ready to trick or treat [hgrin]

Cupcakes = chocolate with orange icing. Dooney is the best advisor there.

Pumpkins, there are some really cute kits out now if you are interested.

hornedtoadjennyp · 30/10/2010 03:47

This thread is like buses, don't see [a post] for ages and then three come in the same minute! [hgrin]

Glad things are going well red - not looking forward to the monitoring of the heartbeat next week, but keeping my fingers crossed that all will be well. I want to go to San Diego too, but I think dh may well be in Europe for Thanksgiving so may have to hold fire with that.

Well done for ordering everyone to bed jabber. I've bought some pumpkin erasers to hand out so they won't get too just sugar from my house!

hornedtoadjennyp · 30/10/2010 03:53

Jabber didn't want to add to the other thread but brown sauce is like brown spicy ketchup. You can get HP and Daddies over here in shops like World Market. I like it on bacon and mushroom sandwiches! [need a yummy emoticon]

ClimberChick · 30/10/2010 03:58

we're not doing anything for halloween Sad

still don't any friends, just people I know at work (and you lot of course Grin).

World Market is fab, it's where I get my marmite and mushy peas from (as well the obligatory heinz baked beans).

jabberwocky · 30/10/2010 03:59

Sounds rather yummy!

jabberwocky · 30/10/2010 04:01

Climnber, I don't care if you know anyone or not, you really have to dress up up your kids and take them to the major neighborhood (every place has one) and experience Halloween! I promise you will have fun [hsmile]

ClimberChick · 30/10/2010 04:06

she's only 8 months, and I really don't know where it is. I will endeavour to find out tomorrow though (will it be a day thing or a night thing?)

God am so looking forward to going home. Bus is in 15mins by which time it will have been as 12hour day.
