I'm starting a thread as suggested by Superloopy, as we are planning our next night out. We were wondering if there were any Melbourne Newbies (or Old-bies too!) that might like to be in our gang

So far, the date is set for Sat 14th March. Venue to be arranged. We normally meet for drinks and dinner, and have been known to wander around our gorgeous city / go to the casino / talk until the wee hours.

Well done for being so organised on Facebook DC, I met up with Lulallabye today and said we were planning another of our famous meet ups!
14th great for me, happy to go anywhere, Southbank always lovely, as is Lygon St, anyone got any other suggestions?!

Oooh, just seen that the Veronicas are playing at the Palais soon. Not that this has anything to do with our night out, but I blummin' love them and might have to source les billets.

Gah, just looked and it's in three weeks time and on a school night. Just not enough time to get organised or get excited...

Anyhoo, back to night out. I'm happy to go anywhere and do anything. I haven't explored much of the city yet so any new places / areas are welcome.

I am sure there are plenty of places on the South Bank we could go to. Maybe Chinatown?

My I suggest that when we book somewhere could we check that they don't play loud live music! I couldn't hear a bloody thing last time we went out!!

oh I am so jealous (Not of the heat though)
am planning maybe to come over with my mother for next year's tennis. but I am going to keep my eyes open for cheapy fares for a quick trip by meself. I love Melbourne!

I want to come with DH for our 10th anniversary in August but have NOONE to look after the children. Maybe we'll bring them. Either way I'm GOING to come on another Melbourne night out, at the weekend this time!

Blimey, according to the Age it has been the hottest day ever, cool change on it's way thankfully!
We are out for dinner ce soir, going to Southbank so I shall do some research into nice bars

Ooh very nice Wilbs. I can't wait now, very excited. We picked up the keys for our permanent rental house today, very nice but very hot.

Am feeling a bit glum today, what with all of this horrible bush-fire news. I will put my thinking cap for our night out on later in the week....
