O.k. let's get organised

Shall we aim for either weekend 18/19/20 or 25/26/27?

Starting off with a dinner somewhere (suggestions please as I have no idea) with the hard core drinkers going on afterwards? ;)

I can do earlier. If it means I don't have to do bedtime I will do ANYTHING. Including sitting in a cocktail bar for 2 hours before dinner

Actually I nearly had to cancel today. To my horror a friend texted me to say the DH's had planned a boys night out. I quickly staked my claim on Saturday night and got in first, so Saturday is still ok for me.

[tactics ladies, tactics]

Oh Arfishy I think it's the 25th we are out (ie, Friday) so as not to clash with the Aus/NZ rugby match. Can you still join us?

(Moving to Victoria Park in Zetland. Modern box. I love old properties but this place has a lift. A lift! Yes I'll say it again, lift lift lift lift. Such luxury!)

Sorry arfishy, the drinking cocktails instead of doing bedtime was my cunning ploy as well (DS1 gets extra money for doing supper/bedtime for his siblings so he's usually shoving me out the door), but he's just been invited to a party which leaves me without a sitter (OH is away) so I have to cancel. I can't believe I posted in the Teenagers section a couple of months back worried that he never goes out - fine time for him to decide to get himself a life!!!!!

Have fun and I will try again next time.

Shit, is it Friday? I am SO glad I posted or I would have turned up on Saturday like a complete lemon. Thank you ViolentFemme .

And you can't make it SunnyD? I was looking forward to meeting you [stalker].

This is a GOOD thing actually, although it means I will have to wait for DP to get home from his Friday afternoon office beerfest work. And bugger. That means I'll have to do bedtime as usual.

Never mind. I can still be there by 8.30 although will be a frazzled mess as I won't have time to get ready because DP will arrive home just as I'll have to leave and we have a regular playdate on Fridays who I can't fob off with a picnic supper on the rug while I shower [makes excuses for appearance ahead of time].

Girls I'm sorry but I'm going to have to skip tomorrow night. We need to be out of our apartment by 10am Saturday which will involve packng everything tomorrow night. I could dare myself to entrust it to dh.... no actually I couldn't. I want to be able to find things again.

Have a great time and I'll see you all at the next one!

VF - sorry you won't be there. Will try and track down some fishy mash and send it to you as a housewarming pressie

ARFISHY - can't believe youthought it was saturday! Imagine you on your own some shouting "COD!" The shame..

I actually walked past Aria today - didn't realise it was in Darling Harbour! Took DD to aquarium and as I went past felt my cocktail buzzer go off....had to drag myself away before it became Pimms o'clock at 4 pm!

i may be a little late depends on DD's molars. Tonight she went down fine but covered me in her dinner, so its taken ages to mop myself clean.

Ninedragons - how you doing? Neighbours still playing up? I have a BIL who is an airline pilot, if you want his plane to drop its load on them, let me know!

See y'all tomorrow!

Oh Bleaugh at the fishy mash [flashback].

I am such an idiot. Can you imagine if I'd turned up. I would have been blackberrying on a thread wailing that nobody had turned up and trying to work out which name MrsBigD had booked the table under and saying 'errm, MrsBigD perhaps?' and looking a complete fool.

Sorry you can't come VF, understandable though. Good luck with the move.

You will be there in spirit NineDragons and the now enigmatic SunnyD.

MrsBigD you had better turn up because if left to our own devices me and BrightonGirl can probably not be trusted

Was looking forward to meeting you too arfishy - we seem to have been vaguely corresponding on these threads for years now

Have one for me. A girlfriend is going to come over and drink fizz with me to keep me company so I don't think my evening will be too boring!

arfishy · 25/07/2008 06:51

I'm sure I'll be able to force one down for you SunnyD .

Now, where are we meeting (she says, leaving it until the last minute), in the cocktail bar at 8.30, or is that when the table's booked?

And what's the table booked under? I do NOT want to have to say 'MrsBigD' or I will look a tit.

OK. I'm about to leave and have no idea what's going on. I'm in a bright red raincoat and will be on my own looking shifty.

I'll have the crackberry so will check back. See you all later

repetitive arfishy syndrome!

The two of us had a fab night though I am v. sozzled now - that arfishy is such a bad infuence. She tried to get me to go clubbing till the break of dawn...

Ta for a great night, looking forward to the next one!

brightongirldownunder · 26/07/2008 06:53

Well, my head hurts and my eyes can't bear the light, so reckon last night was a success!
We were the ladies in red. Arf got chatted up AGAIN.
Then the manager questioned our intake of wine - they had added an extra bottle to bill. Well, obviously we let him have it and then convinced each other to finish the night with a few more glasses of vino.

What we thought would be good would be to plan a pre christmas meet up now. Mid Nov? Arfishy is going back to the UK in Dec so maybe if we can agree on a date in the next month, we'll be able keep it in the diaries. That means you too ND!!!

By the way ND you know I suggested that if your neighbours were still playing up I could get my pilot BIL to drop his load on them....did you see the news about the quantas flight? Shit, serious bad timing. Honest to god it wasn't me....
