So we chatterboxes from the meet-up thread have had our knuckles rapped. Shall we have our own thread? I'll start, shall I?

I am a little Aussie lass
I come from Sydney town
I put my knickers on my head
And my shoes on upside down

mrsBigD - dog - complain to neighbour.

Boat - see Police - think you can put an ad in paper saying remove it by such and such a date or it will be towed away. And then get rid. But just check with police. You can tell them you think it has been dumped. Check rego sticker on trailer.

Chloe - was up at 5am Sat morning to do trash and treasure market at dd1's school. Was okay in the house and then dd2 and I walked outside - went in and got coat for me and fleece for dd2!!

Now you are getting our winter - cold nights but great days. I think the reason people feel the cold - ex pat brits etc is the big differences between lows and highs - if it stayed around 12/13 for the day you would not notice cold as much but it goes from 22/23 to 9 at night.

these neighbours not only complain about the bbq... but our dogs.. whick dont bark more than once in a blue fit.. our lawn which was above the prescibed 2cms long so they rand the council.. (they came out laughed and said well you could always empty a can of week killer over the fence to shut them up!) our friends dog who live sthe other side of them for barking too.. at that point the council told them to substantiate (sp) their complain with popular opinion due to previous (frivolus) (sp??) complaints. he he he he
oh not to mention the complaints about the children talikng to each other over the fences... playing too loudly...etc etc etc
Dh is in melbourne this week. he has packed thermals...and now wants to move to cairns for the winter

MrsBigD · 16/06/2008 10:08

thanks Eidsvold I'll bear that in mind if none of the neighbours own up to the boat... Or just sell it LOL

chloeb2002... LOL re councils comments on your neigbours... they sound very annoying!

chloe - at one stage I was living with my mum whilst I waited for tenants to vacate my house. Was there 6 months - the week I was moving out someone complained to the council about dogs barking etc - mine and my mum's dog. COuncil guy came, walked around the house looking for said dogs - they were chained up under house area - he could not see them nor could he hear them. He left us a note to call as he thought someone was being malicious. he also told my mum that he called the office twice to get them to confirm the address. The dogs were so silent they did not make a sound whilst he was there. ( great watchdogs!! )

Hey MrsBigD - am using this thread for our meetup purposes. Where do you reckon we should meet?
Looking forward to it although dreading leaving teething DD with DH - his form of settling her down is to sit infront of the telly till I come home.
Its flipping freezing here at night- I think I could cope if the rain actually decided to disappear for a few days. Hey hey, reckon I am now officially a whinging pom (cracks open bottle of champagne)

eidsvold · 17/06/2008 06:49

it was freezing here over the weekend but cold nights and mornings have gone again. Dd1 is in polo shirt and sports shorts for school again.

Would it be in poor taste to make a red back loofah cake for dh for his birthday next week? I think it would be so easy to do!!

sunnydelight · 17/06/2008 10:01

If he's arachnaphobic it might be a tad insensitive eidsvold otherwise sounds like fun! I was seriously terrified of spiders when I arrived and have been doing my own version of aversion therapy. I am so much more chilled out about them now though I still check my visors every time I get in the car

eidsvold · 17/06/2008 10:16

sunny - only thought of doing it as something different to the usual iced sponge I make. Something little and different. It also looked so easy to do.

MrsBigD · 17/06/2008 10:35

red back loofah cake? LOL now that would give a friend of mine a heart attack.

brightongirldownnder... no idea where to meet let's put that discussion up on the meet thread ;)
