good job on the work that you're doing. Running a charity is not easy.

Here are the contacts, I hope this will help you.
Paccom (in Hanoi)
Robin (in Hoi An) She also has a charity for disabled children. She's registered with PACCOM, so if you need to contact her, get some info from PACCOM. Her charity is called Children's Hope in Action.
Sr Van Nga Le (Thich Ngat Hanh School for the Blind) in HCMC
There's a cafe that employs deaf people in Da Nang. I can't remember the name though. If you go to Da Nang, I'm sure you can ask a local to direct you to it.
There is also an NGO in Hue called Hue Help. I believe they are based in the UK.
Kirk Horton is based in Thailand. You can contact the Bangkok School for the Blind.
Sabriye Tenberken (Braille Without Borders) She's in Tibet and India. She had a rough time too for the same reason, no one believed her and she had to deal with a lot of red tape. She's famous now, you're going to be famous too one day. Don't let people stop you from what you want to accomplish. I think what you have done is very brave.

It's ok to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. The real idiots are the ones who can't admit to their mistakes or keep making them.

BE PROUD OF YOURSELF! I love the name of your charity, btw.

hmmm. ive reported this thread/poster to mnhq also.

if there is a gabby, i wish her well and would amlways be happy to help with a cause such as is described... but i would need to know they actually exist. nothing so far, over 3 threads and counting, has made me confident of this.

welliemum · 24/11/2007 12:14

Good thinking HTB and WannaBe.

If RNIB are unaware of the charity that's not a good sign.

The supporters have gone silent - perhaps they've all simultaneously gone out to get the papers or do the food shopping or something.

Threadworm · 24/11/2007 13:33

I'm YetAnotherNameForTheSamePerson. I was just satirising the mystery poster's multiple namechanges. Probably I've added to the confusion. Sorry.

Camillathechicken · 24/11/2007 15:01

can someone please tell me what on earth is going on? thanks !

hunkermunker · 24/11/2007 15:11

WTF are you all on?

Who is Gabby and why are so many namechangers newbies gushing all over her? Won't she get soggy?

For the gushers - I can't see that there's anything wrong with the questions that have been asked thus far. Why so defensive? If it's all legit, surely you'd be wanting to tell more people about it all so that they could join in the gush-fest?

Heifer · 24/11/2007 15:11

Who is Gabby?

Is she on this thread? or on Mumsnet at all?

2shoes · 24/11/2007 15:12

this has been going on for days now. all i can say is i am glad it left the sn topic and came over here

ScoobyDoo · 24/11/2007 15:14

This is all totally strange, i have read a couple of these threads over the past 2 days & it gets more weird & more confusing as time goes on.

I honestly believe this is just some nutter trying to get some money from mumsnet, as for all the new people who keep poping up on each thread i am sure they are the same person, anyhow MNHQ can sort it & am sure they will be around to tell us whats happening soon.

gabby has loved in 8 countries but doesn't seem to remember whether she's English or Italian.

yurt1 · 24/11/2007 16:11

loved? lived.

lucy5 · 24/11/2007 18:34

This is getting more bizarre by the minute!
