good job on the work that you're doing. Running a charity is not easy.

Here are the contacts, I hope this will help you.
Paccom (in Hanoi)
Robin (in Hoi An) She also has a charity for disabled children. She's registered with PACCOM, so if you need to contact her, get some info from PACCOM. Her charity is called Children's Hope in Action.
Sr Van Nga Le (Thich Ngat Hanh School for the Blind) in HCMC
There's a cafe that employs deaf people in Da Nang. I can't remember the name though. If you go to Da Nang, I'm sure you can ask a local to direct you to it.
There is also an NGO in Hue called Hue Help. I believe they are based in the UK.
Kirk Horton is based in Thailand. You can contact the Bangkok School for the Blind.
Sabriye Tenberken (Braille Without Borders) She's in Tibet and India. She had a rough time too for the same reason, no one believed her and she had to deal with a lot of red tape. She's famous now, you're going to be famous too one day. Don't let people stop you from what you want to accomplish. I think what you have done is very brave.

It's ok to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. The real idiots are the ones who can't admit to their mistakes or keep making them.

BE PROUD OF YOURSELF! I love the name of your charity, btw.

but if she's been on Asian TV twice, and it's been up and running for 18 months it must surely be credible already?? - some of us just want to know a little more about the funding, auditing, etc.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 24/11/2007 10:59

Thank you WannaBe

goldenfairy · 24/11/2007 11:00

I too, give Gabby my full support.

If you don't want to hear us gushing, don't come on here then.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 24/11/2007 11:02

golden - actually you know what? We DON'T want to here you all gushing.

We want solid, hard facts and information about the charity - which I don't think is really such a huge thing to ask is it??

goldenfairy · 24/11/2007 11:06

The point is not to see if the chairy exists, or to put down Gabby go on another thread if you don't like what we're saying.

Tamum · 24/11/2007 11:07

When you say what "we're" saying....

harleyd · 24/11/2007 11:09

this is getting stupid

soakedinwine · 24/11/2007 11:09

This is a forum where one can post what they like. If you don't like it, go to another thread.

OP posts:
TheQueenOfQuotes · 24/11/2007 11:09

where did I put Gabby down? And where did I say it definitely didn't exist?

Perhaps Gabby should come on and talk to us. Or perhaps you can tell us more seen as though some of you obviously know her so well.

Tell us more about it, clear up some of the misunderstandings, she must know that if she wants Eye-will to grow and expand that she's going to face tougher questions than these!

Carmenere · 24/11/2007 11:10

I think that some of the posters on this thread have split personalities
FYI I am not putting Gabby down, I think that your 'support' probably isn't doing her cause any good.

wannaBe · 24/11/2007 11:11

this is an open forum.

people have the right to post wherever they want.

That includes all of you.

however, if people feel that you are trying to gain sympathy for a person/charity that doesn't actually exist then they have the right to question your cridentials.

If this is a legitimate charity then the founder of said charity would have no qualms in answering any questions about the registration details/goals/aims of the charity.

If someone came knocking at your door asking for money for the poor but could not provide any identification would you give it to them? No-one in their right mind would.

Your failure to clarify any reasonable questions re this charity, added to the inconsistencies in postings by gabby and her "mother", are only fuelling the growing belief that you are actually all one troll posting under several names.

Tamum · 24/11/2007 11:11

Most people change their posting style when they are pretending to be lots of different people

goldenfairy · 24/11/2007 11:13

I agree. Go to another thread then.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 24/11/2007 11:15

Tamum.........some people don't

Golden - what do you agree with?

Carmenere · 24/11/2007 11:16

No thanks I like it here, I think I will stay

wannaBe · 24/11/2007 11:18

think it's this she agrees with "This is a forum where one can post what they like". well... er... exactly.

so if those of you that don't like us posting here don't like it, then go to another thread. .

TheQueenOfQuotes · 24/11/2007 11:18

lol wannaBe - that's what I was thinking

Tamum · 24/11/2007 11:21

Clearly not QoQ

TheQueenOfQuotes · 24/11/2007 11:22

huh - now I'm confused "clearly not" what??? (mind you it doesn't take much with me )

Tamum · 24/11/2007 11:23

Sorry, it was in repsonse to "some people don't", and I was agreeing, based on this thread.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 24/11/2007 11:25

oh gosh - I had to read your 11.23 post 3 times before I understood what you were talking about

Think it's time for me to go and get dressed and have another cigarette and a coffee

Tamum · 24/11/2007 11:26

Sorry, I am being too obscure

wannaBe · 24/11/2007 11:29

have had response from mnhq. they may need tech to help with this apparently so could take some time but are looking into it.

welliemum · 24/11/2007 11:33

LOL at Tamum's helpful hint for multiple personalities.

Charities need to be able to stand up to a lot of hard questions, especially if the money's being donated in one country to be used in another. I agree with QoQ's points.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 24/11/2007 11:33

Tamum - no you're talking sense - I'm just being blonde and dizzy (as per normal LOL).

WB - that's good
