Just saying... Feels a little lonely, thats all!

I love it and actually choose to live right in the middle- where wan chai meets mid levels. I'm a confirmed city girl though. I get palpitations if I get more than 5 mins walk from a coffee shop. I had a bit of a wobble over the summer, going back to the uk in that gorgeous weather but overall , Hk works for us at the moment. How long did you live there?

Cerisier · 02/09/2013 14:42

How are you getting on Butterflies? I am still in Singapore, with the glass, marble, heat and humidity.

zimbomaman · 02/09/2013 14:50

Get me and my original name..... Yes, such a pity that there are more Zimbos out of the country than in. Could do with that dry air, those animals and a breathtakingly beautiful sunset today. Think of me at sundown.

Smile Well, its a stunning African day here- sunrise to die for but then also the crime, grime and corruption just to keep us grounded!

I'll take your grime and crime and give you the French éducation nationale. My little DD2 is starting nursery school in the morning and the thought of 15 years of French teaching stretching before me is making me yearn for my sandals and floppy hat education.

Im on a tiny island off south korea.

Missing our last post like made. Give me dubai over korea any day of the week

butterfliesinmytummy · 02/09/2013 15:17

Cerisier things here aren't too different. It's been hotter than Singapore but less humid. Air con is constant, people are friendly but there's no instant expat / condo community like in Singapore. Looking forward to the kids starting school next week. Love the customer service here, so helpful and life is pretty easy so far. Miss friends and good mee siam Grin

Salbertina · 02/09/2013 15:19

You wore something on your feet, Zimbo? Shock my dc are barefoot half the time Grin

Barbie- seen your posts before and am intrigued by your Korean island. Must take quite some getting used to, a rather insular culture anyway?

Ja, private school, you see Wink.

AdoraBell · 02/09/2013 15:52

I'm in Chile.

AmericasTorturedBrow · 02/09/2013 15:54

I grew up in Nigeria and lived in Malawi, I miss Africa. When we looked to love abroad I didn't think we'd end up in LA....

Salbertina · 02/09/2013 16:48

Waving across Atlantic to the Americas!

ATB- LA must be culture shock after where you've been! Concrete jungle as they say? Though good access to beaches & mountains i imagine?

I've spent most of my life in London so you wouldn't think so but damn LA is just different to every other city everywhere!!

I do like it and settled quicker than I thought I would but it's been 18months, I'm still on a non working visa, just turned 30, youngest (and last) baby approaching 2yo and feeling pretty adrift and useless.

Ugh sorry! But I think a fair amount is tied to being abroad and about to visit home for a month

HKMimi2 · 03/09/2013 00:02

AmericasTorturedBrow · 03/09/2013 01:05

So what was the foreign correspondent thread?

MasterOfTheYoniverse · 03/09/2013 03:52

good morning all!
Glad to see some of you come out! we rarely hear of Mners in Africa and much less from South America!

I tried the thread search but cannot find it Sad Anyone more savvy than me?

kickassangel · 03/09/2013 04:08

Another US resident.

I'm actually in the same state as Natasha Bee, only 4 hours drive away. And Cheerful Yank is the other side of Lake Michigan, so I have 2 local people.

Still never met e mner in rl, even when I lived in the UK.

bubbleandbubble · 03/09/2013 04:08

Thanks Yoni, and Richman, glad I am not the only one slightly bemused at times by the HK Moms FB page. Some of the helper stories make me feel rather uncomfortable! Although for selling tumble driers you can't beat it...
When am I allowed a 'life's shit and I want to go home' day? Have been here just over a week now, but been in Sydney for the last 3 years (hope that doesnt exclude me from this thread?!). The thing I find strange is I'm not actually sure where I want to go home to.

popsnsqeeze · 03/09/2013 04:10

In in the US. Grew up in London, spent 10 years in the Middle East, and now in America. PA to be more exact

Mixxy · 03/09/2013 04:38

Where in PA popsnsqeeze?

spamm · 03/09/2013 04:42
