So funny! I was just coming on here to update about the house and see you guys are asking Grin

Weeellllllllll..........

I think we are going to buy it. Hopefully by the end of this coming week, we will have the offer in. They are prepared to consider the price drop we are asking for so subject to builders final report / reco / quote thing, I think we are going to go for it. Current pricing looks like a hundred grand to re clad the whole thing, which we can afford, but there a couple of other things we need the more intensive report done on (its definitely not leaky) and we are trying to roll all the renovation stuff up in one package (I want all the windows and doors replaced with double glazing for example).

So, we shall see!

Am trying not to get excited or anything. What I have loved about it most though, is that DH is so excited about it. It's the only house we have been to that he has been enthusiastic about at all really, and I love the house because he does. If you see what I mean. I like it too! But, him liking it is very cool.

How exciting. I am very jealous it's a lovely house (house envy here).

vvv I sympathise ds1 is anaphylactic to tree nuts and sesame. He's also been tested for coeliac this week, while I hope he hasn't got that as well I am hoping I can work out what is wrong with him.

Frikonastick · 11/08/2013 23:10

Thanks sibble, am trying really really reallllllyyyyyyy hard not to get ahead of myself here, but it's hard! Last night I dreamt someone else bought it and no one told us so we went to move in and it was full of someone else's stuff and they were like, um no. It's ours. Sorry for that. And we were homeless!

AngryBeaver · 11/08/2013 23:51

That's good news vvv!

Sibble, that wasnt exactly a comforting parting shot was it??
That would make me think too!!

Frick...well jel! That house looks fabulous!
Completely sick with envy , but 'ray for you Smile

Hey, does anyone live in mount Eden?
I am trying to purchase a Puggle!
What is a Puggle? I hear you ask!

Well, a puggle is a cross between a Pug and a Beagle !
Cutest damn thing EVER!

Have my heart set on one but having real trouble trying to find one in NZ (plentiful in Oz and US)
So this woman replies to me, fom the NZ classifieds, saying she
Has 2 Puggle pups ready to go, then asked me questions -as caring breeders do - then said, you can pay $300 (which is cheap from what I've seen) to the delivery company.

NOW, she has told me her address in mt Eden, but has never said, come round and see the dog, and give me the money then.

So I'm wondering if this is a scam, and there's no one at this address!

You k ow in the UK you used to be able to ring 192 to get a number, if you had a name or address?
Does anyone know if they have such a service here?

I'm feeling it is a scam :(

AngryBeaver · 12/08/2013 00:43

Hail stones on Waiheke!!

vvviola · 12/08/2013 00:47

AB - I'm suspecting scam (or at best puppy farm). My parents bred dogs occasionally, and would never even consider handing over a puppy til they had met the prospective owner (sometimes more than once). It sets off alarm bells for me that this breeder hasn't asked to meet you. Sorry Confused

WhatSheSaid · 12/08/2013 00:59

AB i used to live in Mt Eden but dont now ( not much use to you). Why don't you pretend you're coming to the city for a day and tell her you want to pick up puppy then, see what she says. And if she says yes, it's easy to get to Mt Eden - 10 or 15 mins on bus from city or she might be near train station.

Frikonastick · 12/08/2013 01:25

Yes, do what whatshesaid said. Lol! That's so funny!

It's wild weather here too AB, we even had salt on our deck blown in from the sea. But it's still weird sunny!

I now also want a puggle. Damn you AB.

AngryBeaver · 12/08/2013 01:54

Gutted, I was all excited!

Yes frick, Puggles are just adorable! I neeeeeeed one!

AngryBeaver · 12/08/2013 01:55

WHY are there no Puggles in this country??
Lots of Pugs, loads of Beagles! C'mon !

Frikonastick · 12/08/2013 02:00

Maybe the universe is telling you something AB, you are the future puggle breeder extraordinaire of NZ!!

G'waaan, you know you want to

Might have to be this!

lollystix · 12/08/2013 11:14

Quick question. Auction on weds and the agent wooing us says he may not be able to assist much as he has a phone bidder also bidding. How do I know he really has a bidder on the line and isn't just talking us up for his own commission gain?.. I really don't trust them at all anymore.

Frikonastick · 12/08/2013 12:06

That has to be illegal though? But you are right, how do you know for sure :-(

OP posts:
lollystix · 12/08/2013 12:19

Illegal indeed but who knows with these guys ...I've sadly become quite wise to it. I assume risky though as if we pass reserve then the agent could end up having to buy it.

WhatSheSaid · 12/08/2013 21:08

If they were doing that, obviously they'd be in the shit if you reported them to the real estate regulations people. Though I have no idea how you would find out if someone was on the other end of the phone other than grabbing the phone and shouting DON'T YOU DARE BUY THIS HOUSE and see if anyone is there

AngryBeaver · 13/08/2013 00:10

I don't trust the, either, lolly .
Full of shit!

One woman rang me and ACTUALLY uttered these words "this is a real gem, if I were you I would buy it right now, sight unseen!"
