Sorry that sounds awful, have been drinking wine Blush

BBQWidow · 22/03/2013 06:39

Hi everyone! I haven't posted in ages, just haven't been around these parts for a while. Looks like there's been plenty of changes in some people's lives. We've been really enjoying the beautiful summer, certainly makes up for the horror of the previous summer. That said, the tanks could do with a fill, or else we'll be needing a water delivery soon.

I'm about to start a new job on Tuesday week, going from 2 days a week working to 4 days a week working. I'm quite excited about it.

thelittlestkiwi · 22/03/2013 07:25

I am under my woolly winter blanket this evening. Boo!

Its cold here - thinking about finding another rental as the windows don't shut.

Been a difficult day - out with team last night after restructure (I'm technically disbanded/displaced/disenchanted/disappointed now Confused) so we all tucked in the vino. And then I moved onto the gin, And then the kiwi champers and then ended up with my new manager in a tow truck out to Grey Lynn to retrieve her impouned (and now damaged) beautiful new car - all at 12.30am. So I wake at 6.30 (struggled to bus - can't get on it as too sick). Walk to next bus stop. Get on that one and don't vomit in public, thank god, and then do a full day at work. It's been tough - knackered and totally off food. Everything hurts really

Lolly! Am impressed. I can't make it past 10pm at any social gathering, and if tonight is anything to go by, 2 glasses of wine appears to be my limit. I already have a hangover! Who knew living in the ME so long would so severely retard my drinking abilities. Sadface

lollystix · 22/03/2013 08:25

I was really pacing myself and was all on track but then I kind of fell over the edge. DH is asleep in a bean bag next to me after a day on the sauce at the cricket. I shall awake all fresh and he will be like me (ha ha - i should care but I haven't got the headroom to). So WWYD? Wake him up and tell him to go to bed or turn off the TV and leave him in the beanbag?

AngryBeaver · 22/03/2013 08:32

Oh lolly, you and me need to go out!Grin
I would kick him and say "oi...I'm going to bed!!" and see what happens

OP posts:
frikonastick · 22/03/2013 08:32

Does he snore after drinking? That would be the decider for me. Also, how boozy does he smell? Am making myself all boaky just thinking about that smell.

Beanbag. Fuck it. It's decided

Sibble · 22/03/2013 08:33

I would leave him Grin

frikonastick · 22/03/2013 08:34
lollystix · 22/03/2013 08:38

yes - I should leave the bastard!

He's woken up and has snorted lots and staggered off to bed. He will snore and he will stink but then I stank this morning.

So ladies - I have to re-apply for my job otherwise I am redundant (without any pay). ho hum... sigh... sounds tiring

Hey - can we have a mermaid pic please. That's amazing that you live next to a mermaid. Special

frikonastick · 22/03/2013 08:43

Ah lolly :-( that's shit.

frikonastick · 22/03/2013 08:43

About the job obviously! Not DH managing to stagger off to bed!

thelittlestkiwi · 22/03/2013 08:44

What does that mean job wise lolly?

lollystix · 22/03/2013 08:59

It'll be Ok. There are new roles to apply for but me and a colleague will be going for the same one I think so one of us could end up working for the other. If it doesn't work out I shall take my wares elsewhere but I do like my company and the people are lovely. All change though companywide so I hope it's still as good after. Just a bit exhausting and unsettling for some more junior staff for whom the outlook is a bit more bleak.

That sucks littlest. Have been awake for hours, took yesterday off sick with a migraine, slept all day then couldn't sleep last night. Full day today as well. Still, packed for beach, cake is in the oven and first load of washing on line. Think might crash and burn by mid morning Grin.

WhatSheSaid · 22/03/2013 17:43

Temp went up by 4 degrees in our house when we put in insulation, justabout, literally overnight.

meerkate · 22/03/2013 19:17

Ooh, please can I be in the FB gang:-) I am already Justa's FB buddy, she didn't seem to mind (xxx to lovely tolerant Justa) please PM me...or just look for me on her recently-acquired friends list, alternatively. The clue is in my name (it isn't MeerWink) and the picture has me and half of my other half in it (only bcs I couldn't find a decent one of me on my own - not bcs am half of a nauseating joined-at-the-hip couple, let me hasten to assure you)
DH is in my bad books anyway, as he didn't get the Middlemore job Sad - only kidding, well, he didn't get it, that bit's true, but it wasn't a good 'person-job fit' or whatever the PC phrase has it these days, and not quite right, so he was pretty sure he hadn't got it. Never mind, the right thing will come along! LASHING RAIN here and still frickin' freezing...getting increasingly desperate to Get The Hell Out Grin

meerkate · 22/03/2013 19:18

PS I just made a date and chocolate loaf - yikes. Not tasted it yet...not sure whether will be grossomundo or Really Quite Nice...will report back, obv

Sibble · 22/03/2013 19:33

Sorry about the Middlemore job, must mean there's something better around the corner. Anything with dates gets a thumbs up from me, dates and chocolate has to be a winner!

I may be on the market soon as well. Lost the plot a bit this week about the twat contractor. They now cannot fulfill the FTE of the post so I have been asked to 'work along side them'. I, rather assertively for me, told management that as far as I was concerned due process had not been followed with reference to this position, then to top it all they have appointed somebody who cannot fulfill the role, they are condescending, difficult, lack communication skills, are not a team player and failed to deliver on the last contract they were employed to do. Although DH is currently still unemployed I would rather be without a job than work 'alongside' (aka cover their arse and do the donkey work) said person. Then I flounced. Hmmmm, could that have been the trigger for yesterday's migraine Hmm

Anyway, off to watch ds2 play his first game of the season - meant to be a friendly but our lovely Tongan coach has told the boys get out there and waste them (but in slightly more flowery language!)
