Hi. In new house now, still have to go back and clean old house but taking a break now and going down to browns bay for a coffee.

Well deserved I think since I moved all our stuff myself with 2 children under my feet because dp been at work!

Early night for me tonight. Zzzzzz

WhatSheSaid · 17/01/2013 03:15

Congratulations on the move xminerva. Ive never moved house with kids, let alone by myself with kids.

frikonastick · 17/01/2013 04:19

holy crap xminerva, thats impressive!

still waiting with baited breath for justa to come back and tell us what happend Grin

vvviola · 17/01/2013 08:42

Wow xMinerva! I'm hugely impressed - our move took 3 days and involved the help of MIL & BIL!

Nelson is fab. We went to the "Centre of NZ" (up a huge hill & then it poured rain at the top), a petting zoo, multiple play parks & iceskating. I will ache all over tomorrow but it's great. (Except that DD2 has come out with bad eczema all over her back & shoulders so we are trying to figure out what caused the flare up)

Off in the direction of the Abel Tasman tomorrow I think.

Sibble · 17/01/2013 18:22

xminerva - that is very impressive - puts very nosy hat on - did I miss the pictures Grin

xMinerva · 17/01/2013 22:27

Hey, link been taken off trade me but will add some pics to profile once comp set up.

Nothing massive, just a single level 3 bed house. Living/dining/kitchen is one medium size room with door going out into small but well flowered garden. ;) Boys rooms are large single size but have built in cupboards and our bedroom actually has a walk in wardrobe and en-suite and small bathroom. But I much prefer it to the huge open plan, each bedroom on a different floor house we were in. No heat pumps but it's carpeted and landlady has put thick curtains/blinds up at each window and door which help keep the heat in.

We have a rental company delivering fridge/freezer, washing machine and sofa this afternoon. I'm very excited. Lol

Hope you're all ok justa and the accidents haven't been too bad.

Glad you're having a good time *vvv^

Oh dear justa and is everyone ok now?

Neither dc have had chicken pox yet even though they've been (accidentally) exposed to it a few times.

I'm sure J starting Kindy will change all that.

Got a fridge, washing machine and sofa here now, who knew one could get so excited over white goods. Still sleeping on the floor mind but not too bothered about that at the moment.

Well, did everyone enjoy their hols?

I am poorly sick, so spending the day in my pj's lounge wear. Dh begs me not to call it this Grin
He has started the trial btw. I think he might take the job. So a move to Aukland is on the cards. Maybe we could organise a monthly MN meet up? (you probably already do one and I'm just not invited!)

This morning's 5am wake up by DD2 had an extra bit of added drama - a little earthquake Shock

Of course everyone else slept through it as it was only a teeny one, but I ended up with lots of bizarre dreams about trying to help my parents get out of a shopping centre with an imminent earthquake because in my dream/nightmare world they can predict them

I wouldn't mind so much, but having lived in Japan it isn't my first experience of an earthquake by a long shot.

(AB - hurray for monthly meetings! Sounds like a fab idea. Glad to hear the trial seems to be going well so far, Waiheke ramblings coming soon I promise)

vvviola · 19/01/2013 00:34

PS: I'm posting this from the interislander ferry, which is irrationally pleasing to me Grin

AngryBeaver · 19/01/2013 00:48

Ooh scary vvviola! Yes please to ramblings, although I'm going on Fri!

It seems very peace and love (which is nice, of course!) a bit, Namaste, does anyone wish to meet me under the palm trees and give thanks to the sun?! Grin

ps
gahh, for the mention of interislander, now I have that song stuck in my head!!!

justa sorry to hear you had so much going on on your hols that wasn't fun. But well done for having fun anyway! Very Kiwi of you to find the positives!!Wink

xminerva always exciting getting new stuff no matter what it is!yay to the white goods!

WhatSheSaid · 19/01/2013 00:48

Exciting stuff AB, are you still focusing on living on Waiheke or are you considering other areas too?

Did you get to Abel Tasman vvviola?

AngryBeaver · 19/01/2013 01:32

We will check out Waiheke and see if its a go-er or not. Then look at other areas. I really like the sound of it but it may not be for us. I broached the subject of living on Waiheke with dd (6) and it was NOT well recieved!
She knows nothing about it, so I don't know why.
Am thinking this move may be...tricky.

you can rent whitegoods? thats awesome! is there like a website or something?

you know how some people are obsessed with gadgets, and some people are obsessed with cars etc? well, i am obsessed with fridges. thats right. fridges.

i dont know why. but i even go get the latest catalogues from the stores so i can browse them over a cup of tea. for some reason i am convinced that if i could just own a 10 thousand dollar fridge, my life would be complete

WhatSheSaid · 19/01/2013 06:05

frik Mr Rental is the firm we rented white goods from for a while, you could google them. Not sure if they're in Tauranga.

xMinerva · 19/01/2013 06:51

Mr Rentals is the firm we used too.

Brilliant, plumbed in the washing machine and sorted fridge for me, gave me the sofa half price and left a pack of Ferraro Rochers for us.

Fridge and washing machine are brand new too, sofa not but that's why we got it half price. Still in fab condition though.
