Arrgh, had to start a new thread!

Yes,you can get more land in Tauranga. Well, somewhere like Omokoroa or somewhere.Wouldn't want to live much closer than that. And I woulkdn't want to live at he Mount. Lovely as it is. Too touristy, imo.
We would like enough land for a pool (eventually) maybe a sleepout and still enough for a veggie patch and garden for kids. Don't neeed acres +. Wouldn't say no though,if we could afford it! Be nice to have a few sheep or something/

I think Mum would have to fly to Tauranga. So that would be
Manchester-London,London-Singapore, Singapore-Aukland,Aukland- Tauranga
Bad.

justa howws the back? Hope physio was a help,we may have driven past you!
Your house sounds great.
My mums friend lives in Silverdale. She has about an acre with some sheep etc
Wasn't overly impressed at but didn't give it a proper look I suppose, just stopped to buy flowers for Mums friend! Always worth another look

Yes! I saw it online this morning. Wasn't she brilliant. And horrible Tony Abbot started off sneering and looking smug and ended up looking embarrassed and foolish. Quite right too.

Can't see the link Justabout.

Ladies - I'm in a bar in central Auckland drinking wine. How exciting!

Sadly I'm alone, I have countdown bags around my feet and I'm waiting for a random bus. But it's exciting to have been excused from the bedtime shift tonight Grin

frikonastick · 10/10/2012 12:06

Oh snap meerkate, we are thinking July too, also tauranga. Goodness, between you me and AB we will be mumsnetters taking over tauranga!

Have been frantic with work and its seriously eaten into my MN time, and my sliiiightly obsessive Internet house hunting, which sucks and all I can think is, please please oh please could the next few months go as quickly as possible, I want to BE THERE already!

AB hope you get the house, and everyone else, hope your dinner is lovely :-)

meerkate · 10/10/2012 18:06

Ooh how exciting frik - I await DH's return tomorrow morning with baited breath (and a list of household jobs Grin) so that I can start quizzing him in earnest about The Future and Whither We Are Bound. He went to NSW too on his way home - and crossed Wollongong firmly off the list in so doing. Though he did stay in the Southern Hem's largest buddhist temple for the night while there, and amused me (a Buddhist/Quaker hybrid) by informing me he got up at 5am to watch a huge Chinese Buddhist shrine ceremony - which, for a committed atheist, I thought was impressive. He said he struggled to keep awake during some of it, and at other times found proceedings 'startling' Grin So it looks like we are bound for either Auckland or Tauranga, having just started proceedings on buying a house, er, here in the UK. Eek.

lolly - seriously finding it hard to imagine going to a bar ever again, at this stage in my life - am bowled over by your sophisticated urban chic!! Good on you Smile

justa was just in morrison's and thought of you as I passed the toothpaste aisle Smile

WhatSheSaid · 10/10/2012 18:11

Result on the cake and wine lolly

Greenhithe is lovely xMinerva, good choice.

I can do that, only a 10minute drive.

Will have my mum with me as she's doing all the driving at the moment but sure that wont matter.

What time is best for everyone?

and pm me in the morning because I will forget toothpaste otherwise Blush

thelittlestkiwi · 10/10/2012 21:22

Argh. I left my parents looking after DD while we were in M and S today and we have now lost DD's favorite soft toy. I'm upset so DD will be gutted.

How long does it take 3 year olds to get over this kind of loss?

longwhitecloud · 10/10/2012 21:32

meerkate funnily enough I was just checking out the bikram yoga centre on St Andrew St (I think). Left NZ 10 years ago very fit, going back very unfit arrrgh! Would love to try bikram yoga, haven't done yoga since my uni days. Loved it in a funny (farty way) Blush.

I am really struggling at the moment. We are only here for a few months but I feel stuck in limbo. Really miss my good friends from London and I just want to be there so we can get started. I have a serious addiction to trade me....so bad I justabout bought a house over the Internet!!! Just want to put roots down and I really miss home :-(.

I am usually a pretty upbeat person but I am struggling to motivate myself at the moment. Sorry for the pity party, any ideas to perk me up?

xMinerva forgot to say congrats on touching down in NZ. Hope you are settling in well. Is your mum over for a holiday or has she moved too?

xMinerva · 10/10/2012 21:49

longwhitecloud sorry you're feeling down. No suggestions I'm afraid as I don't have much to miss back in the uk so not having that problem really. This is home now so wanting to start putting down some roots, especially for the dc. This will be ds1's 5th home and he's only 3 1/2. Asked him where he wants to live now, uk or New Zealand, he said New Zealand please mummy. The dc are speaking to their grandparents twice a week on Skype, they are missing the boys more than the boys missing them.

Mum is just over for a holiday. Dp flew out here 5 weeks ago so mum came to help with the boys on the flight. Se found out a friend from school who she hasn't seen for 22+ years lives just 30mins away so she's gone there for a few days. Small world eh! Shock

xMinerva · 10/10/2012 21:53

Oh and I bought some Avalanche hokey pokey drinking chocolate.

Wth is hokey pokey anyway?

WhatSheSaid · 11/10/2012 01:18

Hokey pokey is just like little bits of Crunchie (minus the chocolate). Hokey pokey ice cream is v v popular.

vvviola · 11/10/2012 01:25

I'm on for Monday at Windsor Park when am I not?!

I have just spent almost 4 hours cleaning the old house. Probably another hour to go, but I've come back to the new house to do some more unpacking and sorting. It's all glamour here Grin
