Hi sorry been hectic here and to top it all off we have had storm damage to our house and the letting agent is coming tomorrow Sad

Girlwithmousseyhair I will hold your hand if you hold mine Grin Hope it all goes well with your visa. We haven't got our appointment yet but hopefully it will be soon as I'm worried that something will go wrong and we have have started immunisations.

With regards to the immunisations, we got the state schedule from the state health dept and then emailed the school district with any questions as I was a bit dubious of the necessity of some. My GP also looked into them and has set up a timetable to be all completed by the end of feb so no delay in DD starting her new school. Another tip they gave me was to arrange a print out of a summary of your medical and dental records to take with you. Don't know why I never thought of that Grin

Spamm any info on Richmond would be great have now started looking at different areas and think I have just confused myself Grin. We are looking for a safe neighbourhood with a good park district also somewhat walkable as I don't have my license yet and having a baby like to get out and about with the pram. I checked the walkrate website but it's a bit unbelievable!

It would be good to get a checklist, I might attempt one in the next couple of days once I have my wits about me again Hmm

FFS thanks for immunisation info - my children are 3yo and 6weeks so I don't know where to start but if your doctor was helpful maybe mine will be too!!

Visa interview was fine (apart from DD doing a monstrous poo leading me to having to change her whole outfit on my knee in a tiny cubicle, then of course she wanted feeding just as our number came up, cue breastfeeding at the window so I was spared the questioning about what I intend to do out there - pretty obvious really!) and we've just booked our flights for nearly end of feb, eeeeek!!

Found this list online britishexpats.com/wiki/List_of_what_to_do_and_when_about_Moving so will use it as a starting point...argh, we have less than 8 weeks - where do I start??

I think we need a new thread, as it is no longer 2011, and this one is dated. Who's with me?

Great idea, we might be more consistent in 2012!

I'm not a big fan of starting new threads (mostly because I give them stupid titles), but 2011 was bothering me too much.

Come and join me on the 2012 thread, please

If anyone wants to post on this one until closed, be my guest. Could you just make the link your last post?
