@Whatevershallidowithmylife - why do you ask?

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 12/04/2025 14:03

@enigma53 @RedRosesPinkLilies
I've been bleeding for almost a year on and off but it's getting more regular. It's mostly like a general period day. They want to do this procedure. Now I'm pretty done with procedures and it would also have to be done under GA as I can't do things like that so here is my quandary. Should they do it and find say cervical cancer or the like, well, I'm assuming they won't bother to treat it but maybe it's aomething simple that could be cautorized? Oh I don't know what to do?....

SewingBees · 12/04/2025 14:58

@Whatevershallidowithmylife Would getting it sorted make a significant difference to your quality of life?

@Whatevershallidowithmylife Mmmm.. tricky one. Ive had 2 hysteroscopy procedures for post menopausal bleeding( not under GA)

The first came back all clear, the second rang the alarm bells for my eventual leiomysarcoma diagnosis.

My gut feeling is to have the procedure
( under GA) because at least then you will hopefully get to know the cause?
You can then decide on how to act, treatment wise?

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 12/04/2025 17:53

@SewingBees no, not really!?
@enigma53 what treatment did you get?

Enigma53 · 12/04/2025 18:01

@Whatevershallidowithmylife I had a total hysterectomy, which removed the mass. Unfortunately it returned within the year. Hence why I’m on chemo now, in an effort to slow it down.

Enigma53 · 12/04/2025 18:18

Does anyone take oramorph for pain? I’ve been prescribed it, but scared to take, as it feels like the real deal for pain relief, thus a realisation this b***d cancer is real ( which it is obviously!)

SewingBees · 12/04/2025 18:34

@Enigma53 I have oramorph on prescription but I take zomorph (slow release morphine) instead. Oramorph makes me feel a bit sick and quite drowsy.

If you need the pain relief I would say take it, and if it doesn't agree with you then ask your GP for zomorph.

@SewingBees excellent, thanks.
Do you find zomorph constipating at all?

RedRosesPinkLilies · 12/04/2025 19:18

Sorry - I’ve been busy all day. Went to an art class that I used to go to
@Whatevershallidowithmylife - I agree - think you’d be better finding out what’s going on. I hope it’s easily dealt with. X

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 12/04/2025 19:19

@enigma53 ah thats something I wouldn't put myself through. I might ask if they could try xray first? God I can be bothered with this! I can't take Oromorph, I have Sevodyne patches.

Enigma53 · 12/04/2025 19:37

@Whatevershallidowithmylifeyes maybe try asking for a CT or
MRI scan?

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 12/04/2025 22:14

@enigma53 yes I think that's a better idea thank-you

@SewingBees excellent, thanks.
Do you find zomorph constipating at all?

At first I did but now I take docusate every day to prevent that happening.

Thanks@SewingBees

How is everyone doing?

I had my CT yesterday, results on Tuesday. Fucking petrified!

lucysmam · 13/04/2025 20:51

I'm exhausted @Enigma52 . We've had electricians trooping in & out all weekend, rewiring the house, fitting new sockets and light fittings like electrical fairies. I still haven't shifted this fluey thing either 😥. It's just there & I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

I was actually coming to ask if any of you thought it might be worth asking the GP for some antibiotics to try and shift it from my chest? I'm not particularly chesty, but that's where it's sitting & it's been over a week now.

Enigma53 · 13/04/2025 21:15

Just lost my reply??

Enigma53 · 13/04/2025 21:23

Hope the electrics are sorted now @lucysmam? Back to work tomorrow? We broke up on 4th and back on 23rd ( not that I’m in work!) Your GP might prescribe antibiotics if there’s an infection present? Otherwise I think you need to have it for 3 weeks or so. Hope you feel better soon.

In other grim news, we have a blocked drain outside. I know why it’s blocked. Haven’t succeeded to unblock yet, but so 🤮

Other than that, I’ve done a shit load of cleaning and made an epic list of all the jobs which need doing in the house.

My colleagues can’t seem
to be arsed with me this time. Maybe it’s me ( being so abruptly bad tempered these days!) 🤔

lucysmam · 13/04/2025 21:35

Fucking hell...I have gigs booked! I can't bounce round in the Inhaler (haha) pit on Friday like this (dd1's friend is angling for a ticket - it won't go to waste if I'm still rough.

Yep, we've had two weeks already. Back in for 4 days, off for the long weekend, in for four. It's like fucking school hokey-cokey this half term 🙄.

Electrics all sorted now, thank fuck! They've missed one socket I asked for...but the extras all over make up for it. & they offered to stay and clean this afternoon too! I had to remove my sweeping brush from one of them & tell them nicely to go home 🤣. Weirdly, they're actually usually re-wiring shops, or fitting security systems so goodness knows why they said yes to this. But I'm very pleased they did & would recommend them if someone asked.

Right...bed time 💤. Sleep well all x

EachandEveryone · 14/04/2025 10:17

I’m waiting for the palliative pain nurse to visit. It’s not what I wanted it can be done on the phone. I’m sick of people ringing the bell! I wish it was one of my friends instead. The wound stinks now. I wonder if stinky always equates to infection? I feel well otherwise.

except I’m nauseous and off my food completely. Losing weight which scares me. I have my oncology appointment on Wednesday so will go through it all with him.

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 14/04/2025 15:13

@enigma53 what time is your appointment tomorrow?

EachandEveryone · 14/04/2025 16:27

Well, she was really lovely and sorted out my medicine cupboard. I feel much better today. Hope anyone waiting for results gets some good outcomes this week. I’ve booked to get my nails done tomorrow not that they seem to be growing 😀

Enigma53 · 14/04/2025 17:04

@Whatevershallidowithmylife my appointment is 2.20pm tomorrow. Scared shitless! I just want it to be stable, then shrink, then fuck off, so my hair can grow back. The reality is likely that it’s grown, different chemo and being left for it to kill me; that’s what they do with sarcomas as they are as aggressive as fuck 🙁

Enigma53 · 14/04/2025 17:06

@Whatevershallidowithmylife how
is the bleeding? Have you decided what action you want to take?

Enigma53 · 14/04/2025 17:15

And I get so fucking annoyed when people post “ terrified it may be cancer”
on the cancer board. It’s a CANCER board, not maybe/ hopefully not etc. Why can’t they post in general or women’s health??
