Bollocks, I'm sorry @Tilllly

My whole body is crossed for anti bs to work, plus that the fluid problem is fixable.

I thought I was on my way out 2 weeks ago and had a mad turnaround so I'm comically ordering you one.
I'm not Noel Edmonds or anything mind.

That was meant to say cosmic ordering. Not comic ordering. 🫢

Good to have some hopeful info from @ShalommJackie for @Tilllly
Drain away damn fluid.

One of the hospice nurses rang me earlier. She sneakily accessed my blood test results from Friday, and my hb has risen to 103. I am really pleased.

Florsilvestredelcampo · 02/04/2024 15:23

Have you been drinking 🐆 blood @WrenNatsworthy ????
ps. I realise it's an emoji of a cheetah but it was the best I could do.
@Tilllly I hope they can drain some fluid off for you.

GoldenDog1 · 02/04/2024 16:56

Hi everyone I hope you don't mind me sharing a little bit of positive news.
My CT scan results show that my cancer is stable.
This is the first time I've not been told that the tumour is bigger and spreading.
Honestly I feel very happy about this little win.

So going forward I will stay on the same chemo which I've just come back from so feeling very fatigued at the moment.

@WrenNatsworthy happy to hear of your blood test results xx

Of course it's ok to share positive news, we take every win we can, however small.

Xx

Broadcasting to you this evening from Kingston A&E where I am waiting to be admitted for an infection.

Came in this morning as I'd had the fever for a bit but last night developed a pain and could feel a lump.

Have had CT scan which showed small amount of fluid but probably not enough to drain but also that one of my tumours has doubled in size since I came off the chemo. Totally gutted.

SewingBees · 02/04/2024 21:13

@TwigTheWonderKid Have a hand hold from me xx

Are they putting you on IV antibiotics overnight?

Remind me again what sort of cancer you have, I've had a migraine today and my brain is fried. Where is the tumour?

TwigTheWonderKid · 02/04/2024 21:18

Yes, am on IV antibiotics.

Primary was in appendix. Spread to colon, bowel, ovaries and peritoneum.

I was supposed to meet a surgeon at Imperial on Thursday to discuss possible cytoreductive surgery but this has blown that out of the water. There's not way they'd still consider me for that with such a fast growing tumour.

TwigTheWonderKid · 02/04/2024 21:20

@SewingBees it's hard to remember everyone's diagnoses. I'm so tragic I actually have a little spreadsheet so I don't need to travel back through the entire thread when I can't remember!

SewingBees · 02/04/2024 21:25

I remember now. That's really bad luck but don't give up hope just yet, hard as it is not to catastrophise xx

Ah bollocks.

Holding your other hand dear Twiggy.

(The one without the canula)

TwigTheWonderKid · 02/04/2024 21:32

Thanks for the handholding but what I really want it someone to bring me a burger! Haven't eaten all bloody day.

SewingBees · 02/04/2024 21:34

@TwigTheWonderKid Unfortunately I'm in the far north of Scotland on holiday. Deliveroo?

Tilllly · 02/04/2024 21:43

Yippeeee for the positives 😊

Fuckshitbuggerdamn to the rest

<<<slight detour to covet Twig's spreadsheet>>>

What's been said @TwigTheWonderKid, what's the plan? And which fucker has doubled?

TwigTheWonderKid · 02/04/2024 21:46

Have only seen medics who want to admit me to get infection under control. I guess they will try and contact my oncologist again to discuss next steps?

I suspect Deliveroo might be frowned upon here!

LuciaPillson · 02/04/2024 22:55

@TwigTheWonderKid Just got in after too much walking on a windy day, waiting for painkillers to kick in and read your update. So very sorry about all of it, fucker doubling and infection and the surgery after you've fought so hard for it. Bugger. Am semi-asleep and having weird dreams so possibly not making much sense.

<drops hand and runs to 5 Guys>

Thank god!

And once you've dropped off the burger can you organise me an actual bed , or any vaguely comfortable horizontal surface to lie down on please?

Tilllly · 02/04/2024 23:28

You don't have a bed?

OP posts:
LuciaPillson · 02/04/2024 23:40

Oh no, that's terrible @TwigTheWonderKid. Have they left you in a waiting room? ☹

Whaaaaat? Oh this is crapola.
Who do I need to call with my special cross voice?

TwigTheWonderKid · 03/04/2024 00:23

I am in a bay, which I think was designed to take 1 bed, but there are three of us here in chairs. There's a young man who has been here for 24 hours and the old man next to me has COPD, cancer and other stuff going on.

Have spent a lot of time listening to the poor nurse in charge trying to shuffle people round to make more space, but they are overrun. There's a line of elderly people on ambulance trollies in the corridor.

I just feel "lucky" that I was seen quickly and am being treated but a bed (and some food) would be nice.

LuciaPillson · 03/04/2024 02:30

Poor all of you, and poor nurses too. Can you beg for snacks? Little packets of biscuits/cheese/crackers and some water or tubs of juice? Or is the NHS in such a state that the healthcare professionals have had to eat these to surive?

TwigTheWonderKid · 03/04/2024 02:36

Probably. DH bought me a Millionaire's Shortbread before he left but I just want something hot and savoury 😢
