I think my child is trans but he hasn't told me

My DS has a bag of women's clothing in his wardrobe and a bag of makeup. I found them whilst looking for cups. He hasn't told me but I am worried that he is hiding things from. What should I do?

He's a cross dresser, for many boys and young men it is a kink. He probably doesn't want to tell you because it's sexually motivated.

He's not a woman because that's not possible. If he does tell you that he is remind him of that.

I agree it will likely 'just' be crossdressing ~ the world likes telling everyone who enjoys it are definitely trans or gay 👀
There's a kink I like that ties in closely to crossdressing and I've dated a few and understood the mindset a bit more ~ none of them were trans, or longed for a life living as a woman! For the people I've met who enjoy it, it's purely a sex thing.

And why are you ‘worried he is hiding things’? At 16, he needs to be allowed boundaries and privacy. He isn’t going to want to discuss his sexual activity with his mum. I agree that cross dressing doesn’t mean he’s trans. If he is, he will hopefully feel comfortable to tell you.

i mean it could be a girlfriends, or a mates, but Occam’s razor would suggest the obvious explanation is the correct one, and he enjoys the feel of make up and women’s clothes.

tbf, it’s only because he’s a bloke it’s seen as abnormal. Most women enjoy wearing nice fabrics and experimenting with make up to make themselves feel sexy as well.

It's sexually motivated. Nothing wrong with a male wearing makeup and dresses but he needs to understand this won't make him a woman nothing can because he is male

How would you possibly know this though?

If he was trans then he'd be dressing in women's clothes daily and asking for new name/pronouns.
So assume he is just experimenting with transvestism. Do not jump to conclusion or talk about being trans.
But you can tell him you found the clothes. Some men get a thrill from dressing as a woman in private. So he may well be very embarrassed.
