I ordered my dh a PS5 bundle for Christmas online. It was within their extended Christmas returns window.

Set it up Boxing day, it didn't work, the controller wouldn't connect. Definitely not a WiFi problem as it was plugged directly into the console.

A return was arranged. Off it went, a replacement came. Arrived Saturday, same fault, returned Monday.

Today I have recieved an email stating they will be refunding £62.21 to my account. I paid £649.98.

Where do I do from here?
I paid via PayPal if that is relevant.

As paypal to refund you. I did and they paid up quickly with no issues

QuertyGirl · 23/01/2023 16:06

Tell them they've made a mistake and to refund you properly

Headabovetheparakeet · 23/01/2023 16:06

Did they just replace the controller, or the whole bundle?

GoodChat · 23/01/2023 16:10

Contact them. They're refunding the fault, not the whole console by the sounds of things.

Whatmarbles · 23/01/2023 17:32

They replaced the whole bundle.
I bought an extra controller which was opened at their request. I have that in the chat log.
I am.gutted I will be £600 down with nothing to show for it.

Have you queried it with them?

prh47bridge · 23/01/2023 18:09

Do not accept this. You are entitled to a full refund.

yousmellnice · 23/01/2023 18:13

What that's ridiculous! Can you follow it up on the chat?

Raindropsdrop · 23/01/2023 18:15

We had a problem with our PS5, we sent it back to Sony and got it back within a week or two fixed.
No payment needed.

My friend had a similar issue and Sony replaced the full thing.

To add, we didn't buy directly from Sony

Raindropsdrop · 23/01/2023 18:17

I would also query it's not a type or a part refund for some reason and that you'll still receive a fixed ps5

burnoutbabe · 23/01/2023 18:17

Who did it you but it from? EBay if you paid via PayPal? Advice will differ depending if it's a big retailer or a private sale.

LIZS · 23/01/2023 18:17

Is there no working controller with it? Could you use the refund to find another?

Raindropsdrop · 23/01/2023 18:17

Typo🙃

She bought it from GAME as per title etc. You can pay through PayPal in all sorts of sites.

Yesthatismychildsigh · 23/01/2023 18:22

Is that just the cost of the controller? Sounds like someone has made an error. Just speak to them.

Whatmarbles · 23/01/2023 18:23

@prh47bridge the £62.21 should land in my PayPal tomorrow. If I move it to my bank account, does that count as some sort of acceptance?

@burnoutbabe it was bought from GAME online.

@LIZS neither controller worked. Without them, you cannot do anything with the PS5. The only thing I retained was the game (COD) because that had been opened.

@Raindropsdrop I don't want another PS5 off them, with neither one they sent working, I have lost confidence in them.

PayPal will side with you. They always do. And you have an email trail detailing it!
Open a case with paypal. Super easy.

prh47bridge · 23/01/2023 18:29

Contact them first thing tomorrow pointing out that you have returned the whole bundle apart from the game, which is clearly not worth nearly £600. You therefore want a full refund. Make it clear that do not accept the paltry amount they are sending as a settlement and that you want the balance.

This is likely a mistake by someone low down in the pecking order. Hopefully it will get fixed as soon as someone else looks at it. If not, you will have to send them a letter before action and, if that doesn't produce movement, take them to the small claims court.

Hawkins001 · 23/01/2023 18:30

All the best op
