Today, so far: whatever the neighbours' builders were chucking off the roof has raised a cloud of dust slightly ironic in the week that was the anniversary of Hiroshima. In other news, the fact that a tarpaulin was resting on a phone cable means the aforementioned cable has now been ripped from the pole and is draped across our row of terraces ...

Oh, and her builders have left the job, texting her it's because we said we'd call the Police. Firstly, that should worry her rather than cause her to knock us up belligerently. Secondly, it's a bit daft to rely on someone whose English is very limited: no one said "Call the Police"; however, I'm sure someone looking at the mess said "We'll need to call BT" ... For crying out loud.

Don't have any advice but posting to commiserate.
How did the conversation with DH go?

Thank-you, Fester. We will take advice from a solicitor on Monday (the surveyor is recommending ones who deal with this sort of thing) but we feel we probably have to pursue this, as there is other work she has stated the intention of doing and, if she "gets away" with this, she'll think she can do anything. We also have to double check the legal cover we have. It may be, after advice, we start with a letter to her, from a solicitor, before we launch legal action, so she knows we are serious, which might save time and money if she agrees at that stage.
