Police arrived this morning and asked if they could start using our house to stake out address down the street. Thought that only happened in Hollywood movies.

We have agreed but it will be weird having police based here looking out of bedroom window.

Actually it would be good to get legal standpoint. I hate people in my house anytime but the thought of two stranger camped out in child's room until whatever time is scary.

Maybe ring up your local Police Station to double check that they're genuine.

It happened to us once at our office - was very exciting!! Grin Not sure I'd feel the same about home, and to be honest, the big appeal was one of the policement who we were all fighting over!!

I think we are the only neighbours who have not reported person in question

This happened to friends of mine years ago.

The police were doing surveillance of a fairly big drug dealer IIRC.
It was quite funny as I went round to their house and waltzed into the living room before they could say anything, only to find these big burly strangers in there.

Nobody in the neighbourhood seemed aware of what was going on (ie. that that house was being used by the police) and they had no repercussions afterwards.

Tell the police about your concerns -see what they say.

I can undstand your concerns but it's v exciting for the rest of us. I'ts like a Martina Cole book or adaptation. Do let me know if you see any Tom Hardy type characters!!

Nothing so exciting has ever happened to me but if it did I would want paying!!

We had this years ago in our flat in London; we were on the 3rd floor so a good view over the street which went at 90 degrees in front of us. They were there for 3 or 4 days in the end, caught the blokes (not quite sure what for!) and gave us a nice bottle of whisky as a thank you!
