four plus children is the preserve of the wealthy alpha female - Discuss!

or so said an article in my Red magazine today. So how alpha are we all and does anyone REALLY feel their brood are looked on by others as a status symbol?

I have five, a chaotic household, a semi successful career only achieved by going self employed and part time, money wise we are Ok though saddled with the big mortgage we needed to get the space for them all

there are a few wealthy alpha ladies in my town with 4+

small town and its a bit of a phenomenon actually

i am not one of them! but there are a few

loaded attractive skinny fab kids great dp - or so it looks to the world

The people I know with 4 or more are pretty much all (including ourselves) 'religious' (I hate that word!). Very few of the women are working outside the home now, although many of them had good jobs before they had kids. And none of them are very well-off, although none absolutely on the bread-line.

Where I live, 3 is the official middle class number. Two for working class families. Four if you are 'religious', had twins at the end or didn't intend to get pregnant again but did anyway.

Although come to think of it I do know a very few wealthy families with four.

Far more of a beta specimen myself and avowedly atheist. Not many four plus families round here, the few there are are a complete mix of incomes/situations.

Four what plus children? Dogs? Husbands?

Actually I think the writer of that article needs to pay a visit to the most deprived area in this town to see plenty of families with 4 or more children. The mothers may be Alpha females but I'm not sure that's what she means.
