I have a mere four dc so def not the person with the most. When I was at junior school we were making graphs in maths to show the size of our families. The teacher asked a new girl in the class how many siblings she had and she promptly burst into tears, which astonished us all. But not as much as discovering that she was one of 16 children! Some of the older children had a couple of their own children before the youngest siblings were even born.

abigaillockhart · 27/03/2008 20:45

Am and a little bit at how many of you have 4 or more. Just two here and a DH who is adamant he doesn't want more.

kittywise · 27/03/2008 20:51

well i only have 2..BUT...i have 2 every other weekedn ( making it 4) then 2 holiday visitors ( making it 6 for 4 weeks of the summer every year)!!! the two that come every summer are my neices, they are in boarding school in africa so they come over every summer to catch up with the family. then there is mother (living downstairs) and sister every other weekend ( when we are quiet!!)..it feels like a hotel here.

Lisalisa - Tips? I'm hoping to pick some up myself as most of the time I tend to do the muddle-through and get on with it school of parenting.
Why 9? That's a heck of a question. Probably one that might get different answers on different days. Im, not sure. Part giving in to that broody feeling, part wanting my children to have each other after we're gone and hoping that if there's a few of them they should get on with one or two at least , part that I like the bustle that goes on and how interesting they all are and how they bring a new dimension with each individual baby/child/young person. But maybe I'm just selfish. Why do people have children? Whether it's one, two or more? In fact, some days I ask the same question
Why have you had yours? No need to answer if you don't want to

kellyf · 28/03/2008 19:13

Hi

i have 5,would have loved another one but i dont think my body could take any more lol!

chamaeleon · 28/03/2008 19:23

i would love to see tea time in your house juuule, i only have 4 but its like a military operation getting them all fed. at breakfast time the 1st to get their cereal (has to be hot atm and all different of course so all have to be done individually) is usually asking for toast before the last has their 1st course, i sometimes wonder about installing a conveyor belt

3monkeys · 28/03/2008 19:31

I would love more for the reason you have loads Juule! I love all the busy times, hate having nothing to do. Had to persuade DH to have 3 though, so no chance of number 4 although very broody!

Disenchanted · 28/03/2008 19:34

Juule I bet your house is ace!

I want 5 but am having a struggle concieveing number 3!

How on earth do you feed them all? And get them to brush their teeth?

I have nothing but admiration for all of you with large families. I have two and would sometimes LOVE to have more but I find it so hard keeping on top of washing, ironing, feeding and cleaning as it is. And that's before I start on puzzles and stories - what am I doing wrong????

dreamydowler · 29/03/2008 12:06

I have 7 but watch with envy cheaper by the dozen lol Im sure Ill probably end up with 9

DragonFaerie · 29/03/2008 12:20
