We have 3 dc aged 6 and under

I would secretly love another

I know my oh would not

I know our house isn't big enough

I know we can't afford it

But I still would love a iddy biddy newborn

Sounds very selfish to expect the world to curtail their families so you can travel.

This comes from a well-travelled person who has done a lot of overland travel Grin

Ok, now I really will step back as deep will always need the last word.

"Sounds very selfish to expect the world to curtail their families so you can travel."- No quite the opposite- I would like all humans to have the opportunity to travel, which would be possible with lower human numbers.

A better quality of life is what many hope for in controlling human population.
That's not selfish- to hope that we can all have enough to eat, to have a good quality of life.

It's selfish to add to the problem which means others have to starve.

I'm going to have to hide this.

My brain cannot cope with such levels of inconsistency, illogicalness and hypocrisy in one short thread.

Isn't flying the very worst thing for the environment ??!

Anyway, the average family size in the UK is less than two - overpopulation in the UK is down to people living longer and immigration (I've no problem with either btw - just pointing out a fact). Large families in the developing world use far less resources than small families in the developed world. We have 3dc and live a fairly green lifestyle - there are so many factors to consider, not just the number of people in one individual family.

  • far fewer

I always see that one after I've done it!

I have 4 boys and would love another two children. I don't see it happening mind as I'm a single parent so there's some vital ingredients missing.... My boys are 12, 10, just turned 3 and 16 months. I need to pack the cot away but just can't do it!

My brother is gay so I'm having his 2 child allowance. And also his partners. Wink

If I am honest the only thing stopping me is dps unwillingness!

However we are young 26/27 and our dc are all 6 and under. He might feel differently a few year down the line!

Everyone I know is getting pregnant!

Several with twins!

Argh!
