I don’t have the energy but I appreciate what you do. I asked MN to move the AIBU pagers thread to the Middle East board and they’ve obviously refused since it’s still there.

They told me I could hide it if I wanted.

It is exhausting having to see the same old vitriolic shit about Israel on every fucking thread.

Agreed, thank you to everyone who is still taking the time to educate and show the other side of events. I personally just can't be bothered anymore.

Some of them are utterly obsessed. It's interesting how they go very quiet on the board when the Jewish posters have had enough and fucked off, then as soon as one of us sticks our head above the parapet it's always the same people who just happen to be waiting in the wings ready to swoop in en masse like vultures. It's not normal behaviour.

All very depressing and the AIBU made me sad too. I’m constantly between trying to be rational rather than react as well as actually long my real life. Scary to think some of those anti-semites are walking amongst us. Some of these usernames could be a parent of even a teacher as one of our children’s schools! Stay vigilant ladies but don’t let it get on top either x

it would really help those of us who continue to monitor the anti Israel and antisemitic posts on MN, please. It is hard work, I agree, but nothing compared to what our parents and grandparents went through a century ago. Please keep posting with us. Otherwise they win.

It was awful for my mental health, so I've had to stop. It's not that it's hard work, it's that I don't have the mental capacity to deal with it. So I mostly don't even lurk, although I do have the occasional day where I relapse and read comments until I get so sad and frustrated I have to stop.

And no, they don't win. They just join their own hateful echo chamber which then eventually dies down because there's no one to actively bully and harass. They'll wake up one day and wonder why they're so utterly miserable all the time, and they'll never even realise it's because of the insane amount of constant and often irrational hatred they carry in their hearts.

I'm sorry about your mental health. Mine is at rock bottom too. But they DO win as they state, alongside most of the media, that Israel aka Jews are bad and Palestinians are good and we should condemn Israel constantly. There are more antisemites around than ever.

I have taken breaks, come back and then gone again for mental health as well. We all have lives outside of Mumsnet so need to prioritise that.

It is very hard at the moment. I have really tried to throw myself into my community to help me.

I have also noticed about myself that I have become a lot more angry. Other things in my personal life have happened which is not too do with the conflict etc.. but I’m beginning to recognise when I’m “losing myself “ and although I don’t have the full answers I’m hoping to focus some of this energy elsewhere on myself too. It can become a losing battle in that cesspit of antisemitism and we can’t let people do that to us. X

I am also constantly angry all the more so because I m finding Jewish people, including my own family, who are frightened to acknowledge that they are Jewish when out and about. It's sickening that we should feel we have to hide away like our parents and grandparents were forced to do. X

Those posters are a lost cause. I just worry that more neutral lurkers who aren't well informed might be influenced by their very spirited (though deeply disturbing) comments.

In truth, they'll be as committed to 'their cause' as we are ours, but it's so frustrating and upsetting to see such blatant lies, half truths, misdirection, misinformation, etc.

I generally avoid the CITME boards but I've felt so riled up on seeing Israel being accused of 'indiscriminately targeting Lebanon' that I just couldn't help myself.

I honestly think that leaving them to it on that board is the way forward. It's an echo chamber inhabited by a small number of loud people. Some posters on there love nothing more than piling on Jewish posters - a lot of threads go quiet if Jewish posters don't contribute, which tells you all you need to know. I've noticed some posters on other threads away from that board commenting on what an AS cesspit it is so it's not just us who have noticed.

Yeah, we have a few lurkers on the board who enjoy reporting posts. They like to make sure we know we're always being watched. It's really rather pathetic to be honest, but if that's how they enjoy spending their time 🤷🏻‍♀️ It's just a bit weird how obsessed they are with monitoring us.
