After a long period of consideration I’m all ready to start IVF once my
period arrives in the next few days. Anyone else on here waiting to start stims etc in April? Would love some buddies on this journey with me who can relate to what I’m going through

Hi, I start down reg on 7th April, my 3rd IVF cycle in 12 months, last two failed…is this your first?

SunshineCorazon24 · 30/03/2026 06:21

Started my cycle last week. If all is well, I'm due to for FET on 16 April.

I must admit that I'm terrified because I had a miscarriage at 19 weeks late last year. This is our first try after that experience, and I can't help but worry about going through such heartbreak again.

CMGC · 30/03/2026 08:51

I’m due to start on the 5th yes it’s my first cycle so I’m feeling hopeful but also realistic and have planned for needing two cycles . Hope you’re feeling positive hopeful going into your third? Fair play to you🙏

Oh that’s very tough are you getting PGTA testing done this time around? Think that helps reduce miscarriage chance slightly . I’m getting it done however it adds length to the process and means after egg retrieval I’ll have to wait about a month to get results back and to be able to plan a frozen transfer.

I planned for 3 due to age and low AMH, ive always gone in optimistic but the BFN always gets me, will see how this cycle fares. Do you know what protocol you will be on and what supplements if any you are taking to support you?

CMGC · 30/03/2026 22:38

Icsi with zygot and pgta testing. That’s what I’ve been advised to go for. Only taking proceive conception for the last few months

We've skipped the PGTA testing - we're going straight to FET. We have 2 embryos left from this round, and we're now just hoping for the best.

I had NIPT screening during my last pregnancy, and it didn't show any chromosomal issues. Hopefully these remaining embryos are good quality as well.

Wishing you all the best @CMGC and @Hopeful786. Hoping to hear good news from both of you soon.

Hello, I’m also waiting for my period to arrive (likely beginning of next week) and then I’ll be starting medication in April too.
Feel such a mixture of emotions!

LilPearl · 01/04/2026 07:23

Hi all, lovely to read of others navigating IVF at the same time! I just started ovaleap stims last night ahead of hopefully a fresh transfer 2 weeks today. Very nervous about egg retrieval before then though! 🤞🏼 These little eggs are all of our miracles x

CMGC · 04/04/2026 23:35

Just got my period so will be starting priming medication now on Monday for five days then onto stims I believe! It’s becoming very real now

How is everyone getting on? I started stims last week and had a day 6 scan today. Potentially looking at ER beginning of next week. I’m hoping for a fresh transfer (subject to actually having embryos to transfer) but identified as high risk for OHSS so could potentially be FET

CMGC · 13/04/2026 19:10

Day 3 of stims no scans yet until Thursday, egg collection due for end of next week and I’m defo doing frozen transfer as we doing PGTA testing how did your scan go?

MFH1 · 16/04/2026 16:15

Sorry for late response - everything was looking okay with the last scan and have one more tomorrow before retrieval next week.
How did your scan go today @CMGC

CMGC · 16/04/2026 17:26

Went well nurse says she was very happy with progress and I have plenty of follicles but to expect bloating etc and I’m also at risk of OHSS. Next scan is on Monday and another on Wednesday with egg retrieval Thursday or Friday

Hi there👋 just came across this, . Abit about me:

  • started my second NHS short protocol on Fri 17th (first one was abandoned due to poor response)
  • currently day6 on menopur 400iu
  • had my first monitoring scan yesterday Tues 21st (day5): 1x 9mm dominant follicle and 6x 5-6mm small ones, they said that a poor response again so they've upped my dose from 300 to 400, hoping for better result on the next scan on Fri 24th 🤞

How is everyone getting on? You all would have had your egg retrieval by now how did that go?

MFH1 · 23/04/2026 06:21

Hi @Lavendar01
That must be frustrating/disappointing that your first protocol was abandoned, you just want to get going once you’re in this process don’t you.
But hopefully with this second attempt you see some good results especially if they’ve upped your dose now. Absolutely everything crossed for you for Friday’s scan. Will they give you some idea on Friday as to how long you’ll continue on the stims if you’re responding better?

I had my retrieval Monday. Being at risk of OHSS my clinic managed it with a lower dose of stimulation. My scans were showing 20+ follicles but they ended up retrieving 11 eggs, 8 were mature and 7 fertilised. We’ll get another update on numbers today at day 3. Our embryologist advised us to expect 1 possibly 2 eggs come day 5 and we’re provisionally booked for fresh transfer Saturday.

Lavendar01 · 23/04/2026 07:04

Thanks so much x it was so hard to be told this on my last scan I was a wreck, because I was previously told given me AMH is 26 I should be showing better results hence why cycle was cancelled, but this time round the response is even poorer. Im hoping if this doesnt work we will be able to try again privately.

Wow 7 fertilized is a solid number congratulations, i hope all make it to blastocyst stage hun, how has the embryologist been able to predict 1-2 ? And in re to OHSS, what did they see which made them concerned you're risk of ohss?

MFH1 · 23/04/2026 10:12

I bet it was so difficult for you to hear, especially when you try to stay positive and hope for a different outcome. Do you get two rounds with your NHS trust? And so do both attempts count as a round even if cancelled?

Thank you - the update this morning was that we still have 7. The embryologist said again to expect a drop off by day 5. She just said that this is the stage where the biggest changes are happening and they most commonly see that by day 5 a smaller number have made it to blastocyst. So she would expect from the number fertilised to come out with 1-2. But my clinic also won’t transfer day 3 embryos even if it looks like they won’t make it to day 5, which I’ve read other clinics will do. So they may just have different processes/measures to other clinics.

Re OHSS - when I had my initial baseline scan my antral follicle count was over 40 which apparently could be an indicator of polycystic ovaries (but not the syndrome). And the clinic felt that if I had the regular dose of stimulation it could therefore lead to overstimulation. So they have been very cautious. I am also doing mild IVF so they apparently aim for quality over quantity regardless.

CMGC · 23/04/2026 17:53

I’ve also gone on a OHSS protocol . Got 44 eggs, 24 have fertilized and reached maturity. Waiting on update on Tuesday re how may have reached blastocyst stage. Then hopefully have a few to go for PGTA testing. Haven’t had any nasty side effects at all from egg retrieval thank god just in a week of medication and blood thinning injections to keep the OHSS risk at bay

Thats so frustrating as ive come across a decent amount of day3 transfers that were successful on here. Is yours an NHS cycle or private?

Wow what a number, congratulations, what are you ladies eating/ doing to produce so many follicles😂. I only had 8 at my last baseline scan and weren't ideal size, i have my second day8 scan tomorrow hopefully they've caught up.

Lavendar01 · 24/04/2026 00:10

Hope the next few days go well for you both x

Lavendar01 · 25/04/2026 08:52

I had my day8 scan yesterday, right = 8 follicles in total and thank god all clustered together 10mm-13mm, can't see left side due to bowels in the way so annoying, but day5 scan showed only 1 follicle measuring 9mm so will probably lose that by EC.

They upped my dose to 375iu menopur on the day5 scan. It seems to have worked, im hoping the follicles continue to grow together and individual the end I get matured and good quality eggs from the 8 as worried about the attrition rate. I have another scan on Monday which will be day11, let's see 🙏🤞
