I thought I would create an August support thread for anyone that may need it ❤

They collected 18 eggs today

We were hoping to do a fresh transfer but a mixup with the clinic saying that I don't need the zivafert injection, to fast forwarding to the instructions to where I did and was too late to get some. (I had my final scan on Tuesday and said that they didn't need to prescribe me anything else) So was advised that taking the Buserelin would be fine and wouldn't affect our plans.

Turns out that because of that, I would need a separate injection every day for the first 10 weeks of pregnancy and they are pricey. I can't remember what it was called

It is so frustrating and makes me angry and now we're forced into doing a deferred transfer because we're self funded and don't have the money to get the additional meds.

I know it isn't the end of the world and it's just another month to wait, but I've already waited years.

@souiii 18 eggs that brilliant.
Nothing ever seems to be straight forward with clinics does it.
What is the injection for ?
You get used to injections. I had gestational diabetes and was on insulin and after birth they prescribe his horrendous injection inhixi I think it is, for 6 weeks to prevent blood clots. The needle is so thick. Needles don't really phase me at this point.

Were supposed to have a review next week with the clinic to discuss the next steps. Were not rushing anything. We think we'll wait until January before planning a possible transfer or second cycle but we just want to get discussing our concerns and complaints regarding our last cycle with the consultant.
Unfortunately my other half has tested postive for covid this weekend so we may have to reschedule. The last time he had covid ,was before our first cycle and it dramatically affected his sperm morphology as we had another couple of Semen analysis done during the next 6 months and the results were vastly different to the last . I did wonder if that could have affected our embryos the month after that as they were such poor grade. I decided on a fresh collection as I feared delaying would make expanding our family an even bigger challenge but now I'm wondering if I should just do a FET incase his sperm will be affected this time around aswell. Unfortunately we can only afford one further round.
I feel mentally ready after the miscarriage. I'm still having some tiredness, headaches and raised high blood pressure , don't know if it's related but given that , I don't want to rush into a FET either incase it could affect the success . My friend just announced she's currently pregnant aswell 😢 I'm happy for her but I feel a bit saddened as I'd have been due my 12 week scan next week

We had 8 that were mature eggs, and 4 embryos, potentially 5 as one fertilised late. We're getting and update this morning on if they have made it to day 5.

It is Lubion injections, but it looks like I may have to have them anyway as we're trying a natural cycle first but my consultant said I have polycystic ovaries so may need to do a programmed cycle for the FET. Which I only found out over the weekend - they hadn't said anything about my ovaries being polycystic. It's been a week of being told the wrong thing or nothing at all so I've been pretty frustrated.

How soon after egg collection did you have your withdrawal bleed? I think I'm getting mine but we did the collection on Thursday, it seems a little early.

Oh no! Hopefully he feels better soon. Wow, I didn't realise COVID had such a big effect on sperm. Is that one more round of the FET or a whole new cycle? I'm in the same boat. If these embryos don't make it, we're out of money.
Hopefully your consultant can guide on the best chance

It always stings when people announce their pregnancies. Happy for them but it hurts deep. Hugs to you xx

Update: We have 1 early blastocyst and 1 morular. Keep everything crossed for us that they keep growing

Tinkerbell098 · 22/10/2025 12:24

@souiii all the best for your little embabies Xx

VioIetMoon · 22/10/2025 14:23

1 4Ab blastocyst has been frozen

I'm happy we've got 1, but gutted as we lost 17 eggs along the way

VioIetMoon · 22/10/2025 17:09

@souiii here's hopefully that little blast results in a pregnancy.
I have a 4ab frozen aswell alongside a 3ab. Although, not that grade matters much as my only child is a CC grade. Not even good enough to be frozen yet resulted in a perfectly beautiful life.
Will you transfer as soon as possible or take a break? As If I'm correct, I think I remember you've said you did a cycle prior that was cancelled. I hope I'm not mixing that up with someone else.
I'm happy with my two but I'd obviously like another few simply because the likelihood of them both being genetically normal at 40 is probably low.
I hope your feeling ok since the collection.

I've cancelled my review for next week as I've now tested postive for covid. 😭

Did anyone in this chat say they had treatment with therapie in ireland? Or was that a previous group I was in

OP posts:
Waitingforday6 · 22/10/2025 17:18

@VioIetMoon yes I am with Therapie in Ireland. Hope you feel better soon, that's annoying that you had to push it back! Fingers crossed @souiii , I am glad you have one in the freezer!!

souiii · 22/10/2025 19:01

@VioIetMoon will transfer as soon as possible. Yeah we cancelled before egg collection last cycle. I'm relieved to be done the whole process for a few weeks tbh. It is draining!

Fingers crossed for you, definitely would like some more in the bank but it only takes one.

Definitely feeling better since the collection, however now I'm in the midst of the withdrawal bleed and I'm fed up of cramps and feeling naff haha

Oh no! Hope you feel better soon x

VioIetMoon · 28/10/2025 23:22

@Waitingforday6 what are you honest opinions on them?
If your not comfortable speaking here about a specific clinic, your welcome to pm me.
Their prices seems ALOT cheaper than other clinics. I'm wondering if it's too good to be true tho ? Were there any costs added on that weren't included in the package? For icsi, we've converted it from euro to pound and its working out around 2k cheaper for a round

@VioIetMoon I don't mind talking about them here it might help others too but feel free to pm me if you want. I would really recommend them but that is based on my one round and I don't have anything to compare it to. Price was definitely a factor as was ease of getting there compared to Greece for example. They are also very inclusive (age, BMI). They have since opened a satellite clinic in London if that's easier/cheaper for you to get to so you should be able to have blood tests and scans there and only go to Dublin for egg collection and transfer.
My AMH is 32, AFC 22 I believe and they got us 11 good quality embryos so we are over the moon with that. The staff were all nice, the facilities are spotless, and on another thread someone is 24 weeks pregnant with them (not a guarantee but always nice to see).
We haven't got to transfer stage yet because of work/holidays/now Christmas but transfers are €1500 and I have heard others here mention £2-3k per UK transfer. I haven't found them too good to be true at all, I think the UK is just very very expensive. There were no hidden costs after we started, just meds. And because ours was a freeze all we are actually getting a discount on the first transfer.
One thing you might want to check with them is their freeze policy (what grades would they discard) and whether you can send off for PGT if you want to as I don't think they do this on site.
