@souiii You never know . The tww is so hard but in all honestly, nowhere near as hard as the pregnancy. Everyday feels like an eternity waiting for that first scan to know everything is ok and then everyday after that until your baby safely arrives.. and when they do arrive your anxiety is just heightened even more fussing over them every moment checking they are ok.

I'm feeling a bit in limbo at the moment but I fear it's not going to be a good outcome for me. I've had really awful stomach pains for days and my hcg levels are low, they are much lower than what they should be for this stage. I have to do repeat bloods now and wait for the results to check if my hcg is doubling. I'm trying to just get on with things the best I can but I do feel a bit down. I can't understand why the universe would give me this miracle just to cruelly take it away .I'm trying to cling on to a tiny bit of hope until I'm told my levels are going down or i start bleeding but comparing it with my successful pregnancy, I've definitely felt the past week that something just isn't right and I do worry the really low levels have now confirmed that . Ive spent hours scouring the internet and im yet to come across a positive outcome. I'm not sure a scan would achieve anything as your hcg levels have to be above 1000 to see a heartbeat which mine aren't close yet and it I don't think it would make a difference even if they could see anything as if my levels aren't rising adequately it won't support the embryo development anyway . I'm hoping we get some clarity towards the end of the week . Id rather if something has gone wrong that I'd just bleed and get it over and done with so i can move on as opposed to just feeling stuck and still testing positive and just waiting for my body to react

Yeah the days are creeping along so slowly with just waiting and hoping.

Oh no I'm sorry @VioIetMoon that must be so hard to go through and what a rollercoaster for you. Sending you positive energy and hoping for a 180

oh my love @VioIetMoon sorry i missed this update. What a living nightmare. When would your scan be? Can you get one at an early pregnancy unit? just to confirm what is going on inside? sending lots of love.

@zirafica thanks for the info. and @Waitingforday6 its super interesting isn't it. I did wonder why PGT-a isn't recommended for everyone. They did say they would revisit the Mosiac if the 4 euploids didn't work. and @zirafica thats really good to know about the success of defrost and biopsy and then freeze - was sure my clinic said it was about 50% risk there.

I wish people would stop throwing random numbers around - let's agree if we're saying something there's some research behind it. 95% of embryos survive thawing and refreezing - there's enough for us all to worry about, please let's stop spreading additional panic. Does it harm the embryo to thaw it and perform a biopsy on it? — IVF Resources

It might be that your clinic only has 50% success with thawing and refreezing embryos - but that shows more about the quality of the clinic than about the embryos.

Does it harm the embryo to thaw it and perform a biopsy on it? — IVF Resources

Embryos that undergo a thaw, biopsy, and refreeze are exposed to added manipulation compared to embryos that do not undergo these procedures.

Thanks @zirafica - i did some research and it can be down to the embryologist. Good to know we can test another 2 if the 4 don't work out - when we can afford it.

Yeah absolutely - this is why it’s so important to research this stuff before committing to a clinic (unless you’re on the NHS like me then you’re stuck with the clinic you’ve got). We froze half of ours for cost reasons - they’re £450 per embryo, which adds up so quickly. Hopefully you won’t need to retest any additional ones but it’s good to know the stats aren’t that bad. Also I think clinics will sadly fear monger a bit to get as much cash as they can as well…

Jecca88 · 16/09/2025 16:55

@zirafica same - £450 is so high isn't it. We are NHS too at Kings Fertility - it does have great results and have been impressed so far. It is also the clinic recommended by the CRP clinic - which is my immune private clinic. God knows why that figure has stuck in my head - i am so overwhelmed with figures and stats, IVF is very consuming. I think we prob would have tested less than 10 if i knew that - but it feels like such a quick decision - as we never thought we would have got 12 embryos and so when they told us - we just made it.
Keeping my fingers crossed for your results and that they come back soon.

omg we’re at Kings fertility too!!! They never ever mentioned that statistic to me, if anything they said it’s safe to thaw, retest and freeze again, but that it comes with an additional cost (so £950 fee, on top of the £450 per embryo). That’s why we went for 7 out of the 14, we’d paid for 4 already so thought another 3 might give us the total 2-3 euploids we’re hoping for!

Jecca88 · 16/09/2025 17:05

ohhh how interesting @zirafica honestly i must be mad - i was trying to find the document they sent and i signed and any notes i took during our call. Interesting about the additional £ - i don't think i even noticed that. Did you have a consultation with Clair? she is lovely. We have our follow up next Thursday to see whats next with the clinic.

Yes! We met with Clair! They didn’t tell us about the £950 additional fee until I pushed them to speak to finance as we wanted to understand what the cost would be doing it at a later time, but as you said it was all rushed as they wanted us to let them know within half an hour cause they wanted to do the biopsy. I read stats for my age are 30% euploids and fiancé loves a gamble so we went with 7 hoping we’ll squeeze 3 good ones 😂 we’ll see how that works out! Omg did it take them a full three weeks to let you know the results??? My two weeks is tomorrow and I was thinking of giving them a call to check if they’ve got the results back yet!!

Jecca88 · 16/09/2025 17:14

@zirafica - Our Egg collection was on the 20th August and the biopsy's were sent on 26th August and we got our results on Friday 12th - so actually it was 2 1/2 weeks after sent off and 3 1/2 from EC. Sorry for the panic.

zirafica · 16/09/2025 17:18

@Jecca88 I’m so pleased for your 4 euploids!! My EC was 29th, biopsy done 3rd so I reckon I’ll give them a call this Friday cause that’ll be 2.5 weeks. We have our call to discuss next steps next Friday but please let me know what they say to you on Thursday! I’ve been wondering what the next steps are! Also when did you get the progesterone pessaries? Are they part of the prep for transfer?

Waitingforday6 · 16/09/2025 17:23

Fingers crossed @zirafica!!!! Hope you get the results asap. I'd be calling as well in case they forgot they had them back 🤣

zirafica · 16/09/2025 17:30

@Waitingforday6 thank you for feeding my frenzy LOL! I was like I’ll just give them a totes casual “hiyaaa long time no speak how ya doin any chance any results are kicking about totes ok if not just thought I’d check in ✌🏻” kind of call LOL

souiii · 17/09/2025 11:23

This week is going far too slowly, testing on Saturday but it seem so far away!

I keep getting nausea on and off, had a constant headache, and cramps have disappeared so hoping it is all good signs, plus my boobs are grown so much that they don't fit into my bra! I took a pregnancy test last night and it came back negative - I took it to make sure that the trigger shot wasn't affecting any results so when Saturday comes around and hopefully we get the positive, I'm not questioning if the trigger has effected it.

Agreed with the clinic that we will go straight into the stim regime if AF arrived and luckily I have some drugs left over from last cycle.

Time for second breakfast I think

zirafica · 17/09/2025 13:04

@souiii omg I feel the same, I was initially thinking I don't care about any of these waits and now I'm like WHERE ARE MY RESULTS. Totally crumbled and called the hospital today (used some moderate spotting I am having post EC as an excuse) and then casually asked oh while I've got you, and PGT-A news? She was like "no, we'll call you when we get them". Bummer!! What did you have for second breakfast, this is my favourite topic!

🤣🤣🤣
Sorry to see they aren't ready yet the waiting really is the worst!!!!!
@souiii fingers crossed!!! I know it's a bit different because of your supercharged ovulation this cycle 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 but is anyone else sooooo over the TWW when trying naturally? I am just refusing to test for ovulation or pregnancy. Definitely a great idea to test out the trigger shot though.

souiii · 17/09/2025 14:20

Waiting is the worst, I'm a giant control freak so at that point it is out of my hands and I can't do anything about it and it drives me nuts! @zirafica hopefully you get your results soon - did they give you a timeline on how long it takes to get the results?

I had jam on toast, after my weetabix an hour before lol I'm not usually a breakfast person but I've been waking up absolutely starving.

@Waitingforday6 it sucks! After so many cycles of testing etc it is just so tedious now.

I mean we knew there were eggs ready in there, and my lining was thick and the exact time of ovulation so I'm gonna be real pissed if I'm not, like what more do my eggs need?!

Waitingforday6 · 17/09/2025 14:30

Absolutely @souiii you served it all up on a silver platter what more can they ask for 😀 really hope these are all good signs for you!!

zirafica · 17/09/2025 14:46

Well they said 2-3 weeks average to get PGT-A back and today was 2 weeks to the day so I guess it was a stretch thinking they might have them already. Somebody on the forum is in the same clinic as me and hers took exactly 2.5 weeks so I'm hoping Friday is the day!!
@souiii @Waitingforday6 I am over ALL the waits. I'd love to be able to hibernate and they just wake me up when they've got an update/it's time to test 😆

VioIetMoon · 17/09/2025 15:27

I've had repeat bloods today so hopefully should have results before weekend. I was 6+4 when i had first set of bloods based on lmp but my hcg levels are only 669 which is apparently very low. All I can do is hope they are doubling but even then they are still on the low range.
I'm not really sure where to turn. My gp left a note that I should basically go back to my clinic and share my results but I already made it clear to the gp that I'm not longer under clinic care as its not considered an ivf pregnancy as its happened naturally so they have no duty to care for me. My clinic told me I'll have to see my gp so I've no idea who's supposed to offer me advice and i had really severe stomach pain on monday evening and tuesday all day but without gp referral I can't see epu either . Healthcare is a bit rubbish.

Waitingforday6 · 17/09/2025 17:43

Ah I'm so sorry @VioIetMoon what a nightmare! I really hope they will have doubled! Definitely not out from that perspective but it's outrageous that nobody is giving you the care you need with your pain. Is it A&E territory? Is there an EPU and an A&E attached to the same hospital anywhere nearby (not sure how it works I've never been pregnant or to A&E in decades for that matter) because if you went to A&E during the day they might send you straight to EPU to avoid you taking up A&E space? Someone definitely needs to see you if only to rule out ectopic. Thinking of you!!!! ❤️

VioIetMoon · 18/09/2025 15:27

Unfortunately it's not good news. My levels only rose by 87 in 48hrs .
Gp was unhelpful , basically said they are happy but I find it extremely concerning. I phoned epu and they said my levels warrant an ultrasound because its not a normal rise and to rule out etopic . The nurse was shocked my gp dismissed my levels. They can't see anything on ultrasound , including etopic until my levels reach 1000 so I basically just have to repeat bloods every 48hrs now until they can access the situation

Waitingforday6 · 18/09/2025 15:36

I'm so sorry @VioIetMoon! How incredibly cruel and unfair for this to happen 😞

VioIetMoon · 18/09/2025 17:43

@Waitingforday6 I just kinda want it to be over and done with at this point. On one hand I'm happy that we somehow managed to achieve one natural pregnancy on our own but on the other hand I can't understand why the universe would let it happen just to have to go through the turmoil. Id rather it just hadnt happened to be honest. The nurse advised me because of my extremely low levels and the fact they aren't rising at this gestation that it's not an on going pregnancy . I'm just hoping I start bleeding soon naturally as I really don't want management.
I've had a loss before at 5 weeks so I knew something didn't feel right with this one. I guess you should always trust your gut instinct. I really want to proceed with another round but I'm also terrified to go through it all again now.

I hope everything is well with you

OP posts:
souiii · 19/09/2025 07:02

So sorry @VioIetMoon that is awful, I can't imagine what you're going through

It's test day for me tomorrow and I'm terrified. A lot of the symptoms I've been having have settled down a lot so I'm thinking that I'm not pregnant. I'm still super hungry but I'm getting more period like cramps and my boobs aren't sore anymore and my nausea is more infrequent.

This whole process is just soul destroying
