I thought I would create an August support thread for anyone that may need it ❤

@YellowTack im so sorry! 😔

we still have another day to find out about if any made it to day 5! They wasn’t initially going to notify us until day 6; but think werre getting an update now. They did say it’ll be an afternoon update. Really hope something makes it!🤞

goodluck to everyone else waiting to hear as well! 🤞

Jecca88 · 18/08/2025 19:26

@YellowTack in so sorry my love, just not fair. Please be kind to yourself and just eat all the crap and drink wine and just know you did everything you can.

@Georgiaivf thats a great result my love. Well done. Keeping things crossed over the next few days. Did they offer you a deeper sedation?

had my last scan today and all looks good so triggering tonight. They have given me two trigger shots as I have high follicle count and worried for OHSS. I have to do it at midnight which is late as want to go to bed.

my friend just said she had high follicle count with PCOS and she got 40 but only 7 of them were mature - so now that’s sent me into a spin after thinking my numbers were good. Doctors said they expected to see approx 4 follicles with my AMH and I have 26+

Waitingforday6 · 18/08/2025 19:33

@Jecca88 I had 39ish follicles, 31 eggs and was lying awake the night after egg collection googling 'high follicle count bad quality/immature' etc and in the end 30 out of 31 eggs were mature. So please don't worry!!

Georgiaivf · 18/08/2025 19:40

Good luck on trigger @Jecca88! Midnight is late but assume you’re in for a 12pm collection then? I honestly think it’s a luck of the draw type thing when it comes to eggs vs mature eggs so as others have said try not to stress.

I was offered more of the same sedation during theatre which was topped up once, but not another type all together, I was just going mad on the gas and air, plus complaining a lot that it hurt to the nurse. I think looking back it’s probably manageable if you have a lower number of follicles to drain as they’re doing it for a shorter period of time. I just stared at the nurse when she told me we’re only halfway through hahha

Hopeful786 · 18/08/2025 21:13

Hi everyone, hope everything is going well for you all. Im currently in my 2WW and 9dp5dt, I have resisted the temptation to test so far, I had mild cramping from 3dpt up until 7dpt but nothing since, boobs no longer feel sore too. I am emotional as hell though, keep crying over nothing usually in the mornings, DH offered me a biscuit and I started sobbing???!

OTD is this Friday, picked up some tests today but so scared to use them, my head is telling me it didnt work but my heart is hopeful. Going to stay in this bubble for a few more days and see what happens on Friday.

Good luck to everyone on their fertility journey, I really wish we didnt have to be a part of this.

Jecca88 · 18/08/2025 21:43

Thanks @Waitingforday6 that is reassuring, I know everyone is different. 30 out of 31 is amazing. How many got to blastocyst? Are you doing PGTA?

thanks @Georgiaivf yes 12pm on weds. Trying to stay awake tonight and hopefully have a nice long sleep after. I have had quite a few procedures on general and then 1 hysterocopy on local and 1 MVA awake with the gas and air and I felt soo high lols. Also why can’t they let you pop your on meds up the backside? I’m so used to popping the progesterone cyclogest up the back with my immune protocol so used to it lols.

Waitingforday6 · 18/08/2025 22:22

@jessa88 we are very lucky and have 11 good quality embryos in the freezer (I think the clinic is quite strict and probably discarded some that other clinics might have frozen 😞 but we skimmed the grading and IDA or whatever the AI scores are called and once we saw multiple good grades and scores we stopped counting because we didn't want to obsess). We aren't testing at the moment. I like the idea of it of course but it's expensive and it's our first round and it wasn't necessarily recommended. We aren't young but not at the age where our doctor would have recommended it and it's more of a wait and see approach. If there are multiple failed transfers in a row then we might test a few. Are you planning on doing PGTA? Good luck with the trigger (and staying awake 😁)

Jecca88 · 19/08/2025 08:54

Great news @Waitingforday6 - when are you hoping for your first frozen transfer?

Yes we are doing PGTA. Basically we have had 7 miscarriages and out latest one which made it to 13 weeks had downs, but we had all the right meds for my immune protocol for the pregnancy to continue - the genetic abnormality caused the miscarriage rather than my immune system. so we are doing PGTA - hoping to get good genetic embryo and immune protocol alongside it.

Trigger was fine last night - some more discomfort today, but gonna take it easy. Can't wait to tomorrow night when i can get the Mcdonalds post EC fries and lie on the sofa all night.

Waitingforday6 · 19/08/2025 09:18

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you! It sounds like you have a good plan and system in place. I hope the EC goes well and you can enjoy your fries, some rest and any other treats you want! How long will it take to get the PGTA results? Do you know when you might transfer?

Thank you ❤️ most likely October or November. Our clinic said we could be doing it right now (my EC was 2 1/2 weeks ago and I already had the first bleed) but the rest of the summer is quite busy with work, a family reunion and a holiday that falls at just the wrong time. I tried to plan ahead but didn't think that my normally very regular cycle would be messed up by IVF 🤦‍♀️ we are in the UK but did our IVF in Ireland so it requires a bit of travel as well. But I am trying to make the most of the break and mentally prepare myself.

Waitingforday6 · 19/08/2025 09:55

@Hopeful786 how are you feeling? I bet Friday feels like an eternity away. I won't have a transfer for a few months but I told myself I will not test at home (our clinic does a blood test). So we'll see if I can stick to that 😂

Waitingforday6 · 19/08/2025 09:57

@VioIetMoon, @Georgiaivf and @Peonies94 I hope everyone waiting for updates today and tomorrow is doing well! Fingers crossed!!

Georgiaivf · 19/08/2025 11:32

Thanks @Waitingforday6! Just had our update from the clinic- of the 21 collected, 17 were mature and 11 fertilised. I know these numbers are still good but I can’t help feel disappointed from the drop off! The clinic do seem very pleased with that result but next updates will come on Thursday and over the weekend

Waitingforday6 · 19/08/2025 11:58

Well done @Georgiaivf! The drop off is always terrible isn't it? But those are good numbers! You are on track to get a really good number in the freezer. The sky's the limit for your little embryos. Here's to the highest possible day 5 to day 1 ratio!!! But I completely understand. Every single drop off hurts!

Peonies94 · 19/08/2025 12:34

Thank you!! I got 4 blasts! Told I’ll get the grades of them in the next few days!

Waitingforday6 · 19/08/2025 12:47

@Peonies94 yaaaaaaaaaay!!!!! 🥳

VioIetMoon · 19/08/2025 13:50

@Georgiaivf It's understandable to feel disappointed but that drop off sounds perfectly normal. 11 is a great number to work with. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves

Chlo1995 · 19/08/2025 14:39

@Georgiaivf I did feel the same with the drop between mature and fertilised, we had 19 collected, 15 mature and 7 fertilised! But out of those 7, we got 5 really good blasts!

We had our transfer yesterday afternoon, 4 have now been frozen but fingers crossed for this one as they told me it already looked like it was starting to hatch, I now have the dreaded wait and I’m already not coping well😂😂

Waitingforday6 · 19/08/2025 14:45

Hatch baby hatch @Chlo1995 !! I hope it's snuggling in as we speak! Let us know if you need distraction and you can return the favour for me and @Georgiaivf in the autumn 😂

VioIetMoon · 19/08/2025 14:57

@Chlo1995 good luck, hope it's nestling in there nicely.

Embryology called us today again , to my surprise. My heart was pounding when he rang , I was sure he was ringing with bad news to say they didn't make it to day 4 but thankfully both are still doing fine. He said they have compacted morula today which is what he expected to see on day 4 and that hopefully tomorrow we should see some blasts 🤞 on our last cycle, we had no issue making blasts 3/3 but they were all poor quality , hence why we had none frozen. I'm kinda expecting the same from these two but we'll see tomorrow. If they make it til tomorrow and are good quality we'll freeze and do an FET when my levels have normalised and if poor quality we'll head up and transfer them tomorrow.

Chlo1995 · 19/08/2025 15:10

@Waitingforday6 definitely! I’m already losing my mind but I know I need to try and be patient, just not one of my strongest qualities😂 I’m going to have to take up a new hobby!

@VioIetMoon thank you! Just seen your following comment and it sounds promising, I’ll be keeping everything crossed for a good outcome tomorrow🤞🏼

Waitingforday6 · 19/08/2025 15:14

Ahh that's great @VioIetMoon! That call must have freaked you out. I know it's so hard and I struggle with this so much but try to celebrate each win (saying that I told myself I'd relax after each scan or each update but of course I didn't). Fingers crossed they are both freezable quality but I'm glad you are able to do a fresh transfer if not. And if they aren't freezable quality it doesn't mean they won't take in a fresh. Grow grow grow!!

Jecca88 · 19/08/2025 16:31

Those are good numbers @Georgiaivf keeping you mind mind over the next few days to get some good blasts. Feeling so sluggish today and achey, can't wait to get this over.

@Waitingforday6 thanks my love, it takes about 2 weeks for PGTA post blasts. so looking at transfer if we have something in October - so similar times. How long was your recovery post EC? think about going away for the night on the thursday and friday and EC is tomorrow - am i being realistic?

Waitingforday6 · 19/08/2025 16:53

@Jecca88 I recovered really quickly but I know everyone is different. I was in quite a bit of discomfort for a few hours and was hobbling around slowly although like you I was so uncomfortable by the time I had the EC it was just replacing one type of discomfort with another but when I was allowed to take the next dose of painkillers in the afternoon I didn’t need them and by evening I didn't feel any pain at all. The following morning I was getting coffee and realised I was powerwalking (without meaning to) for the first time in weeks 😂 but I am listening to a podcast at the moment and someone said they were ropey for quite a few days and someone else on here took painkillers for a week. I think those taking an hcg trigger like Ovitrelle are at higher risk of feeling unwell at least from an OHSS perspective.

Jecca88 · 19/08/2025 17:00

Thank you thats good to know @Waitingforday6 - i have had several procedures before but on General Anesthetic and have been able to do things a couple of days later. I had to have Ovitrelle and Busirelin last night as triggers. Really hoping i don't develop OHSS - sounds scary.
