Hey everyone!

Thought I’d start a thread for those of us starting everything next month :)

Personally, I’m from the UK and will be starting ICSI in Ireland. Just over the BMI limit for the NHS in the UK and have been trying for c.6 years for our first. Had final tests yesterday and consult. Going with ICSI as my husband’s sperm analysis came back teratozoospermic. Other than that, nobody can find any reason we couldn’t conceive naturally, it’s just not happened!

Currently phoning up pharmacies in the UK for medication quotes (struggling to source Bemfola at the moment though). I’ll be on the short protocol and they reckon it’s likely I’ll be a freeze all as AMH and AFC came back decent. If I get get the meds in time, looking like I’ll start at the very end of this month, with egg collection next month 🤞🏼

Would love to connect with others starting around the same time ♥️ Good luck to everyone ✨

Good luck ladies!! 💕

VioIetMoon · 30/05/2025 12:11

@KittyVB thankyou, I'll join that thread that.
@camelinastorm wish you the best of luck today at your scan . I really hope everything is well

camelinastorm · 30/05/2025 12:34

Had my scan so there is a sac looks empty though but they did say 5 weeks is very early to see anything so have had a beta and booked for a scan next week so still none the wiser unfortunately

GamerGirl09 · 30/05/2025 13:31

@camelinastorm Fingers crossed for your beta results and scan next week. I guess with what they said today you’ll be preparing for the worst, but better to have good news when you’re not confident, rather than bad news when you’re overly confident ♥️ Stay positive, it’s still very possible it’s just too early. Easier said than done but have some you time and a bit of a pamper to de-stress ♥️

@camelinastorm I'm sorry to hear that . Hopefully its just too early. I was told this why they wait until 7 weeks to do a viability scan , as to be sure as the fetal pole isn't usually detected before 5-6 weeks .
Have the fertility clinic not offered you an upcoming scan aswell?
I was 7 weeks when I had my scan and they couldn't locate the fetal pole. It took 3 of them to locate it as mine had implanted so far back it was very difficult to see the pole on ultrasound.
That feeling is horrible.
I really hope its good news. It's really shit when you go through infertility and when you finally get pregnant it still doesn't work out. I don't think I've ever really recovered from my loss back in 23 .
When you look at everyone getting pregnant and staying pregnant looks so easy

camelinastorm · 30/05/2025 14:38

@VioIetMoon my clinic is overseas and yes hopefully it's just too early they have done a beta and results back later today

NightingaleK · 30/05/2025 19:49

@Mimes83 good luck!! Why are you thinking that these symptoms are signs of failed implementation? Firstly, as you rightly mentioned it could be the effect of progesterone. But also the same symptoms could be a signs of successful implantation. I’ve started worried now as well. As I had my fresh embryo transfer this Wednesday and started experiencing light dull pain / crumps in my low abdominal. Low back pain has been there since I’ve started progesterone pessaries after the eggs collection.

I'm officially out, brown spotting yesterday with a negative test 9dp5dt and full period this morning with another negative test. Hopefully we'll be able to talk to the clinic to get some feedback and a plan for our one remaining frozen embryo. Best of luck to everyone else still on their journeys! Any advice welcome 😊

@camelinastorm I've got everything crossed for your follow up scan. I scan as part of my job and have noticed a huge variation in early pregnancy. Sometimes I've seen a clear as day yolk sac at 4+5, sometimes there's just the gestational sac at 5+ weeks then a lovely fetal pole when at the rescan in a week. So much can change happens day by day in early pregnancy and I hope it's good news for you.

GamerGirl09 · 01/06/2025 23:51

@WildForTheNight I’m so so sorry to hear that. Take the time you need and hope you get to have a really helpful and constructive meeting with the clinic. Best of luck with your remaining frosty x

Negative test for me this morning. Absolutely gutted x

confused2025 · 03/06/2025 06:39

@GamerGirl09 similar graded embryos here. It sounds like we have the same clinic in Dublin ☺️ Emma the Embryologist has a Q&A tonight so it might be something you find useful https://www.instagram.com/share/BAHYK-QVb9

Miraclemuma03 · 03/06/2025 06:44

@confused2025 Hey! Have you done a fresh or doing a FET? Did you get IDAscores with yours? I found some positive information re lower IDAscores if you wanted me to share ♥️ Thanks for the link, I may just join! X

@GamerGirl09 I had my FET last Friday so on day 4 right now. Emma’s account is amazing and she says that the grading piece is very subjective. I’ve had a ‘perfect’ embryo fail previously (during my NHS cycle) so I am trying not to get too hung up on it. When is your transfer?

VioIetMoon · 03/06/2025 12:24

@OliveTurtle I'm so sorry. Please take good care of yourself

VioIetMoon · 03/06/2025 12:25

@camelinastorm how are you getting on?

OliveTurtle · 03/06/2025 15:20

Thank you all! It was our only blastocyst and only NHS funded round so it feels brutal. Hoping things can be done differently in a future round?! X

camelinastorm · 03/06/2025 18:33

@VioIetMoon I have to wait for the scan Friday to confirm if it's viable so much waiting

camelinastorm · 03/06/2025 18:34

@OliveTurtle so sorry to be reading this, also I thought everyone got 3 rounds on the NHS, correct me if I am wrong it's such an awfully draining process IVF

OliveTurtle · 03/06/2025 19:12

@camelinastorm i live in York and we only get one round! One blast from one round and now left to our own devices! X

camelinastorm · 03/06/2025 19:36

@OliveTurtle oh wow so sorry to read this, I thought the crazy postcode lottery with IVF had been addressed and everyone gets the same amount of rounds, I know in Wiltshire if one of you has a child from a previous relationship you can still be eligible, I thought they were the only odd one out, so wrong that it goes on your postcode
