Just that really, if you’re feeling s*t and hopeless and alone - come sit and we can feel s*t together

Had a bad weekend and just feel

Hi @FlutteryButtery2 right here with you! Nothing going right at the moment and I'm feeling super down and overwhelmed. Had enough!

FlutteryButtery2 · 17/02/2025 15:59

Also having a very down day today! Approaching the 5 year mark of no babies and feeling like things are never going to happen 😔

Nobodyknowsitall · 17/02/2025 18:06

Me too 💔 I've lost all hope.

ivfjourneyandme · 17/02/2025 19:27

Utterly shit mood, combination of feeling like my body is failing me, down regs and stress

BussiBop23 · 18/02/2025 17:13

Hey everyone,

So sorry to hear you are all feeling down - can I join the club?

I'm in my head today and can't snap out of all the negative thinking. We had our first fertility appt a few weeks ago and approved for an NHS round of IVF.

People around me keep asking if I'm excited, and I say yes, but the truth is that I just feel so heartbroken that we are even in this situation. 2 years of infertility and 1 miscarriage.

I know I should be grateful, but I'm not feeling very grateful today x

FlutteryButtery2 · 18/02/2025 18:00

Of course, I thought I’d start the thread because I’m sick and tired of everything

I just wanted to be s**t and sad nothing else - and thought there must be others who feel this way too!

welcome to the s**t club

Not sure if the thread is a bit dead but I am feeling shit today. On my period after 3rd IUI failed and saw a mum fussing over her newborn in Asda and just felt like crying there & then.

FlutteryButtery2 · 26/02/2025 07:19

No the thread is very much still going

I’ll join please 👋🏻

2 years+ of unexplained secondary infertility here. I am so ready to go for IVF but hubby doesn’t want to “pay for a baby”. 😭

He really wants another child (this would be our second) but so far he is dead against IVF.

Feeling shit all around because my period was a bit weird this month (not pregnant) but gynaecologist has basically written me off and said IVF is our only option…

Rebekah77 · 27/02/2025 07:55

It’s so so hard lovely , just trying to take one day at a time

still feeling so poorly from cycle one in January .

all the love to you @FlutteryButtery2

this is literally the hardest process I’ve ever been through

trying to just spend some time colouring and in my bubble . Going to try to return to work today

BussiBop23 · 27/02/2025 08:40

Had a real down day last week - it's so mentally draining.

I know it sounds a little cheesy, but I try and focus on the little things that help. It's a sunny day here, so I'm going to walk to the gym.

I've got a weekend away with some friends this weekend, most of whom have new ish babies and hearing all the 'It's the first time I'm leaving her overnight' chat has suddenly made me realise what I've signed up for! It might not be the fun I imagined 😩

@worldwidetravel2017

Hey!

Going to send the form off for funding in a couple of weeks. We were told that would take 2 weeks to be approved, and then we could most likely start on my next cycle, so hopefully, April or May.

How about you?

Ah okay..
Different ideas from different trusts i guess

I mean our funding was granted in December

But then we had in person fertility consultant appt to finalise treatment - January

( he was thankfully and luckily a consultant who we met 6 months previously on our fertility / infertility journey)

Feb was a ton of forms
Some more bloods
Online learning modules

Ultimately we have another appt next month but are likely to start April.

Often / sometimes theres a wait for consultant appt.
And then wait 4 nurse appt etc

Different areas obviously maybe different

I found it frustrating waiting from dec to ultimately March/ April
But yeah

Our time line may of been different as our funding was done as exceptional funding / exceptional circumstances etc

Sorry to hear of your miscarriage
We know that pain

Our journey sounds like it may be similar ish time line
Re 2 years ish

We had to avoid conception for 6 months ( oct / nov 2023 to march / April 2024 for a whole host of other issues )

Separately ,
Consultant discovered my blood likely clots too fast
So will be on blood thinners.

Also on meds 4 pcos

( when i had miscarriage - i was not on blood thinners or pcos meds )

Been a long journey

Hey everyone...

I'm still here... still feeling s**t. How about everyone else?

From looking like an April or May start for our IVF, it's now looking more like June/July.

This process is so long! And I'm not feeling particularly hopeful about any of it today.

We are part way through our ivf..

I was super nervous - i neednt be

Im not scared of needles anymore

Focus on eating lotsa iron rich and vit c foods :)

Dya take daily vit d ?

We have 6 top quality blastocysts that are guna be pgta tested

You got this

Consider reading an ivf book or 2 if your inclined - many 4 sale 2nd hand on vinted

My advice would be ask NHS gp to test your

Prolactin ,
Vit d ,
Feretin,
B12
Crp

Now..

( your ivf consultant will be interested )

The book ' it starts with an egg ' is pretty gd

worldwidetravel2017 · 04/05/2025 09:37

Dya know your amh ?
You could consider getting that privately tested now
Your ivf consultant will be interested

I highly recommend hertility health

BussiBop23 · 04/05/2025 09:44

Hi @worldwidetravel2017

So glad to hear you've started, and its very reasurring to hear you didn't need to be nervous.

My AMH was actually very good - above average for a women my age. Our only 'problem' is slightly decreased sperm morphology so he's started taking Proxeed.

I will definitely look into getting those other tests. It can be so hard to advocate for yourself at times. I've done ALOT of google research, and it can be difficult to know what to trust or act on.

I am currently taking a multi prenatal vitamin.

When is your egg collection? I think this is part I'm most nervous about!

If your amh is high - might u have pcos ?

Hertility health do a big pannel of testing for 150 gbp
I highly recommend it

That includes tests for pcos and also ovarian reserve etc

I didn't have pcos visable on scans in summer 2023
But did in feb 2024

Always worth getting checked

Had egg collection - it was okay.

It hurt a little but then they gave me more pain relief and the sedation worked.
They look after you
Ita not that bad

The 2 days after i was ouchy - partly as they removed 18 eggs

But its normal.
Good to rest egg coll day and a couple days after .

Honestly though - its not too bad.

lots of love to you xx so much waiting !

Miraclemuma03 · 05/05/2025 11:19

Sorry everyone is feeling shit. I'm struggling to get over a failed ivf cycle and have to start all over. I'm sick of being fat and I can't shift the weight and i stopped trying to lose weight to go through ivf and gained bloody 4kg back so struggling to now get that off and i juat want to scream. I'm annoyed with my life and how it is currently and struggling to make changes to make it better including my husband taking 6 months off from his business now he has no business and has to start from scratch and he has no real reason why he took so long off. It's hard to be happy right now and I just want my life back. Nothing is working out.
