Thanks for setting this up @HopefulllHolly You're the best host around 😁
Hope the MRI goes well today @leaf86 and that you have plenty of stuff on to will make December roll around faster. Ooof it’s impossible not to think about the previous pregnancy but as @HopefulllHolly says as well, they would have spotted things by now if something was wrong and they would have been more concerned. This is a different embryo and a different baby and likely this will be a completely different experience. Fingers crossed for December!
@HopefulllHolly oh I’m so pleased that you found ways to bring that pain down and you’re not stuck with it for the next 9 weeks. While left side sleeping is ideal, after a certain point you just gotta do what makes you comfortable as you can’t live for 2 months in agony!
Side sleeping is so annoying, here I go on a rant. I can’t believe that nature has decided that this is the best position for us! It puts so much pressure on the hips and the growing bump, and in my case on the upper back. I had hip / lower back pain as well when I started doing it and I either got used to it, either I got it under control somehow (for now) with a mattress topper, the bbhugme obviously helps though now it slips from under my bump sometimes and that gets uncomfortable, and I’ve just been better in general with bringing my pelvis forward during the day and watching my posture as my spine is naturally pretty curved and I was told it will only get worse with pregnancy and will put more pressure on the lower back. Sometimes I sleep like absolute shit on the side, sometimes I sleep fine. Can’t wait to see how the third trimester will go haha
On the fundal height, the midwife said they’ll get a few measurements in to try to get a pattern and I assume that based on that they will make a call whether I need a scan or not
Our holiday is 28 Nov - 8 Dec. I’ll make sure to recharge my batteries on this one before I go into our crazy December & January, and will definitely make the most of the xmas limbo week in between.
Outside of midwife appointments, are you hoping for a more relaxed December?
Hi @always28 nice to see you around here, and to hear that everything is going reasonably well. Haha classic on finally feeling the movements on the way back home from the hospital. I feel you on the acid reflux! I had dyspepsia a few years back and was feeling absolutely rubbish, exhausted and breathless all the time, throwing up often, and I wasn’t even pregnant! Now the acid reflux has returned with pregnancy but it’s nowhere as bad as it was then, and so far I seem to keep it under control with Gaviscon and smaller meals, but I’m only 26 weeks. Are you doing all the other recommendations around it as well? Sleeping elevated, not eating 2-3 hours before bed, small meals often, fodmap?
I remember looking at a bugaboo fox in JL and disliked that it seemed like such a faff to re-use the same frame and use extra attachments to move from one type of seat to another, so appreciated the Cybex more after that. But realistically speaking, you only need to move between carrycot and seat once, so it’s probably not as big of an issue if you like the manoeuvrability of the pram
@natty2 ah so pleased that all is well!
@dippyduck19 32 weeks wow! such good news that the cysts have stayed put and hopefully you can proceed with your original plan. glad to read you’re feeling better and that you kept the mental health check in, I'm sure that it will help.
@anniestar12 sorry to hear about the insomnia and hope that you can get a nap in today to recoup some of the lost sleep. it’s 28 nov - 8 dec and yeah, I’m going to need it just to keep up with the crazy December and January we have lined up, let alone what comes after lol
I read the bit about you dreading going into the office. I’m at 26 weeks tomorrow and I’m already dreading taking trains and walking, though the cold doesn’t help either, so I’ve been driving myself everywhere these days lol I’m curious how much longer into the third trimester I can fit behind the wheel.
Sorry to hear about the elevated glucose. Is the first glucose test a blood test? I'm asking because I have the 28 weeks appointment coming up too. We have the same system at our hospital. Hopefully someone will get in touch with you soon to explain the next steps!
Good luck with the scan today @Edf
