Hey all, I hope things are going well. I’ve been so unwell with nausea and vomiting. It’s torture. I’ve made an appointment with my GP as I need something. Work is a struggle. I work in a prison and the different smells trigger me. It’s a men’s jail so… Hopefully they are able to help. My scan is now Wednesday and not Friday as I’ve moved it as I plan to wfh for the remainder of the week.

@teampacey congrats on the job, and glad to hear you're doing OK so far. I was also concerned about shoulder pain yesterday evening but it only lasted a couple of minutes and hasn't returned, so I'm hoping it's nothing. Counting down till Thursday's scan.

I hope you don’t mind me joining in. I was following along your stories in the last thread but too shy to join in. I also did my first round and first transfer of IVF in sept with a 5dayoldembryo which resulted in a BFP. I’m currently 8weeks4days. Had my 8wk scan last week and baby’s heartbeat was good and strong at 152bpm! This is my first everything so finding it all exciting/ scary and really overwhelming.
Yesterday I had a scare with a wipe of watery red blood (stopped after that) and this morning I had a wipe of brown, red discharge. Really hoping everything is ok and just ‘waiting’ to see if it continues or stops. Next appointment is with my GP at the end of the month to refer me to maternity and not currently booked in for any scans. Symptom wise my main is one is thirst, tenderness and a bit of nausea.

Welcome and congrats @Wildflower9 . I’m 8+4 too! Your scan must have been a lovely moment 🥰

A few of us on here have been having similar spotting so feel free to tell us all about it! I’ve found it really helps me mentally knowing it can happen in many healthy pregnancies, although I’m of course monitoring carefully.

My midwife booking appt is this week on Wed. Can you self-refer to the midwife/antenatal clinic? My GP wasn’t involved at all.

Thanks ladies, it has stopped so not sure whether to bother ringing EPU or not? I have no pain really (sore lower back but have had that all the way through anyway). I think il hold out and see what happens! How was yours @Sierra26 did it go away?

I'm on 6weeks + 5. Having my first US on Wednesday (counting minutes)

So far having quite bad nausea and exhaustion! I cannot even think of food. No vomiting though.

I don't know if this is normal pregnancy symptoms or just the high doses of medication I'm under - 2 Lublion injections, 2 pessaries and 3 progynova estrogen everyday! Seems way more than you all here...

@Mochistory I was actually on the same! I finished my estrogen yest and had to come off lubion also as was having an allergic reaction. I'm not on 2x 400 mg cyclogest and 2 x 200 utrogestan per day!

How far are you again @Daniki ? Did the doctor tell you until when you'll be medicated?
Do you have nausea and tiredness as well?

@Mochistory yes defo tiredness and nausea is on and off. So I should have been 8 weeks yest but I was measuring behind at my last scan so technically I'm 7 +3. My clinic takes you off everything at 8 weeks but I'm staying on my progesterone steroids and aspirin as directed by other consultant x

@Sierra26 Ah cool, is your due date May 29th too then? No unfortunately I have to go through my GP as it’s shared care in Ireland.

@Mochistory I was the same for the first US counting down the seconds! It seemed to take forever. Good luck with it!
I was on the same medication except for the pessaries. And then I was told I could finish out what I had at the US and so I stopped all my medication on the day I turned 8 weeks. Luckily I don’t have any vomiting but my nausea comes with any bad smells (it all seems to be extra strong, like the smell of mould from firewood)

@Daniki @Sierra26 has your discharge fully stopped now? I had bit of a bloody discharge the day after I finished my medication and then a bloody wipe yesterday, with brown/ red discharge this morning but nothing since. Is it just this time I wonder? We all seem to be around the same gestation…

@Daniki Hopefully it’s just a growth spurt! I feel like I’m on eggshells, and then I panic when I see the spotting/ blood! Oh nice one ☘️ Can I ask, have you seen your gp yet? I rang after being discharged from the clinic and they said to go in when I’m about 10 weeks and they’ll refer me then. It seems strange but it’s all so new to me!

@Wildflower9 yea im the same, it's all so worrying! Yea I was in with GP last Thursday, not that there is much they can do at this early stage but he checked BP and urine, said I had some blood and white blood cells in mine so I could have an infection and possibly why there is spotting? God knows! Haven't heard anything since anyway. He said I don't need to come back until 16 weeks then! Have you an EPU you can contact about spotting? They might take you in for a reassurance scan!

@Mochistory im still on 1x lubion, 4x progynova, 3x cyclogest, and then one estrogen patch every second day. Dont think I’ve experienced any side effects but hey i might be a completely different person when i stop it all 😂🤪

@Daniki @Wildflower9 i had more of the orangey colour earlier - not sure if it’s just a very light blood tinge or google tells me it could be an infection. No other symptoms though! Will continue as I am for now until booking appt on Wed. My last watery brown was a week ago, and my last brighter looking blood (still watery) was two weeks ago. Seems every week brings a new stressful surprise!

@Daniki its so hard to know what to do. What’s an EPU? 🙈
The last day I was in my clinic they told me that any questions I have from now on should be directed at my doctor so I feel a little bit in limbo in that sense.

@Sierra26 I’m the same. I have the ‘spotting’ but no new cramping or pains. So I’m really hoping all is still ok. My boobs are still tender so I’m taking it as a good sign!

@Sierra26 god this spotting is a pain in the hole! Hope it goes away soon!

@Wildflower9 it's the early pregnancy unit, all maternity hospitals will have one and that's where you will attend for any issues in early pregnancy! So you could ring up and say you've had some bleeding and they can book you in for a scan to see what is going on, same as if say (god forbid) you started having heavy bleeding or something you would ring the EPU rather than attend a&e.

How is everyone feeling today? I'm on my first day of half term and I feel like I've completely crashed and burned. I spent most of the day napping or sitting on the couch.

I was also wondering if anyone has experienced any specific cravings yet? All I seem to want to eat is dairy products. Cheese, cream based meals, yogurts etc. No desire for anything healthy whatsoever. I'm already looking bloated from the progesterone - not sure a dairy diet is going to help matters!

I am sorry to hear that many of your are going through stressful times.

I had my viability scan today and can’t say it was great. There was a heartbeat which is reassuring however the baby is measuring small (6 + 2 when it should be 7 + 3). The nurse was not worried and just booked me for another scan in 2 weeks.

I have since done a bit of research looking at scientific articles and I really don’t understand why the nurse was so relaxed about it as there can be a link to bad outcomes. I prefer being given realistic expectations so I would have preferred being told us that can’t really conclude for now and will reassess in 2 weeks rather than saying it’s not an issue when it could be one.

I am now of course more stressed than ever and don’t know how I will cope with the next 2 weeks waiting for the scan.

@YellowTack sorry you hadn't a great experience. But it doesn't necessarily mean a bad outcome. I'm the same I should of been 6+5 at my first scan but was measuring 6 on the dot, had another scan 4 days later and was measuring 6+4 with a good strong heartbeat. Now obviously I don't know for definite if will be a good outcome but trying to remain positive for now. I have everything crossed for you! I'm back for a scan Wednesday week.

@Daniki thank you for your reassurance, I will try to stay as positive as I can, and keep my fingers crossed for all of us!

I had this idea that I would be reassured after the viability scan, but I should have known better, part of being a mum is worrying about the baby/child, and I think this will be the case during pregnancy and for their entire life so it’s just the start!

@Daniki thanks so much for the info! I’m off on Wednesday so I’ll give them a call and see what they say.
@xMrsxHx87x how far along are you? I don’t think I’ve had any cravings but I’m being turned off things easily. Like chocolate for example, it all just tastes like sugar!

@YellowTack if the nurse wasn’t worried try not to read into it too much. It’s so scary when things we don’t expect happen but maybe it’s all ok still x

@xMrsxHx87x no cravings for me but I feel hungover and exhausted a lot of the time. I have quite a lot of energy in the mornings and then I’ll just crash. It’s quite overwhelming!

@YellowTack sorry to hear you’ve had this worry. As Daniki says, it could just mean it will continue to grow at that rate now. Two weeks is a long time to have to wait though for an update, will be thinking of you. Is it still your ivf clinic you’ll be scanned at?

Any more today @Daniki ? None for me today but will probs be back tomorrow!!

4 weeks until my 12wk scan… honestly don’t know how I’m going to keep myself sane until then.

@Sierra26 yep had some last night and a bit this morning. 😩 starting to get a bad feeling, and my scan is over a week away! Altho I might ring them and bring it sooner if it gets any worse 🙈

@xMrsxHx87x I do have some weird cravings but then I also had cravings before pregnancy so maybe I am just using this as an excuse to have nice food 😁. I am also gaging at random smells which is very annoying.

@Wildflower9 welcome to the thread! I will try not to think about it too much and to stay positive untel the next scan.

@Sierra26 indeed 2 weeks is a long time! I will be doing my next scan at the IVF clinic again, which is nice of them as they could just have told me to organise it myself. I have been thinking about doing a private scan in the meantime but I want to give the baby some time to catch up and at least if we wait 2 weeks we will have a better idea of what is going on.
4 weeks until your 12 weeks scan, that is a long time as well! It’s so difficult to be patient and positive when all we do is waiting!

@Daniki sorry to hear about your bleeding, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I hope you can be seen before your scan!
